Welcome to Wikipedia, Gunjan verma81! I am Belasd and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!
I dont think Wikimapia images can be used on Wikipedia. These images are copyrighted and not under a creative commons license. You can however add the coordinates to the article. This will then become a link to the Wikimapia, Google Earth, etc. You can see how this works at this article - Sindhudurg. I hope this helps and let me know if you need more clarification. --Belasd (talk) 18:15, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Railway lists
I would approach it from a different prespective. Can you make a featured list from just a list of links? You cannot...the answer is clear. Each article on a Wikipedia (of any language) must ideally be featured. We are always working to get them there. An article with just a list of links will not survive too long on English Wikipedia. Please let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Ganeshk(talk)10:48, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:25, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it finished last night. In order to catch new articles I will download the database dumps when they are made. I then have asimple process to create the list of new articles, and can run on that. RichFarmbrough, 15:51, 30 August 2009 (UTC).[reply]
Gunjan verma81, Abutorsam007 (talk) has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Go on, smile! Cheers, and happy editing! Smile at others by adding {{subst:Smile}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
Tinu would be a good choice. I have some experience with bots, but have limited time now. However, if you give me the requirements, I can have a look and see if anything can be worked out. -- Sundar\talk \contribs05:46, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Re:Help on picture copyright
We cannot use that picture. The site does not mention anything about licensing. In cases like these, we default to assuming the pictures are copyrighted. We need explicit release of license for use on Wikipedia. Regards, Ganeshk(talk)05:24, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have a look at those soon. I forgot to add an important point which is missing from the Islam article. The word Islam means surrender. This fact is noted in the article's lead but is never explained in the article. This is a major theme of the way of life in Islam which every Muslim is inherently aware of. It must definitely be explained in the article. You might find the following information from this site helpful in this regard. A summary:
Surrender in Islam means surrendering or submitting your will to God. This means that all other responsibilities of life are removed and are replaced with the singular aim of living your life in accordance to God's will. Every single action in a Muslim's life, whether marriage or building one's career should theoretically be for the sake of God. This way of life is believed to crush the ego and self-importance within an individual.
Islam Ka Itihas in 3 volumes by Dr. Shah Abdus Salam is a good and authentic source. I presently can't think of any more. Be careful about the sources in Hindi though. Many of them are written by non-notable scholars with little grasp over the subject. Regards--Shahab (talk) 14:41, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It would be a good idea if Islam related pages from urdu/english wikipedia are translated into hindi. I'll try to pitch in too. You might also consider machine translations such as this. Generally speaking although machine translations are thought to be worse then nothing. But if someone proofreads them throroughly it might make them worthwile. Also urdu to hindi machine translations would be quite readable. Regards--Shahab (talk) 16:33, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For starters you can become a member of WP:TECH, WP:GEOG and WP:HOI. I also recommend working on a single article at a time. I think it's better to take a aingle article to WP:FA or [[WP:GA], then to distribute your work over a number of articles. Feel free to give me a call if you need any help.
