Hi Gsingh/Archive 2, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 18:19, Jun 12, 2005 (UTC)

Khalistan movement

Heh, no problem. Highly active users like us tend to make minor mistakes like these at times -- I remember, I once mistakenly blocked someone who reported a vandal instead of the vandal. Happy editing! utcursch | talk 06:07, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Done, with pleasure. Good job on the article, BTW. Cheers! - Niri M / ನಿರಿ (Talk) 12:21, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

What reference do you have that American University of Antigua College of Medicine is part of Manipal Education and Medical Group?Naraht (talk) 19:14, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

There was nothind added by this IP address stating that American University of Antigua College of Medicine was part of the Manipal Education etc. In fact, most the the website citations from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in the page were no longer valid, as exibited by clicking on them. Furthermore, there was no vandalism involved, as the edits were simply clearing out invalid links that did not correctly cite the state, as exhibited by clicking on the citation's hyperlink. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.135.0.6 (talk) 17:54, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

I disagree with your action. First, there is apparently a consensus to merge, because all users agree that terminology is inconsistent, that many sources make no distinction between words "slash" and "solidus", and no user provided a reliable source to substantiate the current situation with two articles. Second, there is no policies and guidelines known to me which provide a timeout for a merging proposal, so mentioning "more than 1 year" is irrelevant. Third, your action just did not make anything useful for Wikipedia but made some inconvenience, because this discussion will inevitably be restarted and then users will have to read opinions spread by various talk sections.

I propose to undo your edit, or (if your do not and are not willing to discuss it further), let us request a mediation. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 17:05, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Online doctor

[1] How does this meet the criteria of A10? They are 2 totally different articles. —Dark 09:00, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

    • The service you are talking about is the same thing, Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication and information technologies in order to provide clinical health care at a distance. Is that not what you are describing in online doctor? Gsingh (talk) 17:06, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I am Hubertgrove. I am the author of Online Doctor, I must say that I'm in agreement with DarkFalls. The two articles are very different. The first is about the technology, hardware and software underpinning the practice of telemedicine; the second is about the licensed doctors and pharmacologists, particularly in the US and the UK, who have constructed a new business model, remote consultatation, diagnosis and prescription. These are two different subjects in my opinion and one is not covered by the other. As such, I really can't see that the article contravenes A10. Hubertgrove (talk) 14:23, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
I still believe it could be included/merged with Telehealth or Telemedicine. An online doctor is not a separate profession, they are trained physicians, just like any other doctor. In your article you do not speak about an online doctor, you're simply stating the benefits and drawbacks of telehealth., teleradiology, remote patient monitoring, etc. I probably should of replaced Telemedicine with Telehealth in the speed deletion. I'm not saying the quality of the article is bad (it is actually quite organised), I just believe you have duplicated another article. I still stand with merging its contents with Telehealth. Canadian Sikhism

  • Particularly because over the course of now till March I plan on doing edits to it that Sikhism in Canada will not do. Sikhism in Canada, while an apt title, infers to the presence of the indo-canadian group of Sikhs in canada, Canadian Sikhism on the other hand infers to the presence of not only the indo-canadian group of Sikhs, but also the converts, ethnicity, culture and contributions to the Canadian society. --Schmeater (talk) 00:03, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
    • That's great that your fixing up the article, it does need a lot of work. But aren't Sikh converts also termed Sikhs in Canada? They are also Sikhs aren't they? I think the Prominent Sikh section should be removed by the way, its very biased and half the Sikh politicans are left out. Gsingh (talk) 03:19, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Oral exam, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Viva voce (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Redirects

Please don't request speedy deletion of redirects where a word has been left uncapitalized (like Nozoki ana or Botak chin). Such redirects may be unnecessary, but they don't do any harm and it is usually best just to leave them alone. Redirects are cheap. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 04:23, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Okay I thought it was supposed to be deleted, I was just trying to keep Wikipedia clean. I'll leave them there next time, should I CSD article names with spelling errors, etc.? Gsingh (talk) 04:38, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
Assuming we are still talking about redirects, it's considered appropriate to have redirects from plausible misspellings to the correctly spelled article titles, and those redirects should not be deleted. For example, not everybody knows how to spell Scarlet Johansen's name. (That's an intentional misspelling which is a valid redirect, selected to illustrate my point.) It's a judgment call to decide which redirects are appropriate and which are not. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:47, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Hello there, Ciarán Lenehan's talk page should'nt be tagged with the WP:FOOTBALL tag, this tagging is only intended Football/Soccer related articles. Just a quick note

Hello, Gsingh. If you want to start talk pages for articles about books and add them to the relevant wikiproject, here are a couple that could be done: The Foundations of Psychoanalysis and The Assault on Truth. I started both, and would add the wikiproject myself, but technically speaking I shouldn't, as I am not a project member. Thanks. Polisher of Cobwebs (talk) 06:22, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

I generally tag articles with their respective projects during WP:NPP, anyone is allowed to tag an article with a Wikiproject, you don't have to be a member of that project to do so. I've tagged the two you requested as per your request. Gsingh (talk) 15:04, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Need Help!

Hello! I've recently created an article. The article seems to have a 'conflict of interest'. Could you kindly advise which portion should I edit to solve the problem? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samdani gh (talkcontribs) 06:20, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

  • I've added citations needed tags on the unverified claims. Please source them or delete them. I have removed the parts about Golden Harvest and his wife being a managing director, it is not related to Rajeeb, if she is notable enough for her own article you may create one. Gsingh (talk) 16:56, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
    • By the way it's generally better to wait for someone else to create an article about you, if you are notable enough it will be created by someone eventually. Gsingh (talk) 17:01, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

- Thanks for the help. but the article is not about me. i did edit where you asked me to, but there still seems to be the same error, I can still see the banner. how should i get rid of it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samdani gh (talkcontribs) 06:09, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

  • Read the talk page on the article, there are some few references to be fixed before the banner can be removed. What is your relation to the author may I ask? Gsingh (talk) 22:21, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Could you point out which references need to be fixed? I used to work for the author. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samdani gh (talkcontribs) 04:53, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

    • Reference numbers 4, 5, 7, 8 are unrelated with the statement, please provide new sources. As per WP:RS, youtube is considered a self-published source, please provide a new source for Reference # 6. Gsingh (talk) 05:38, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

- Hi! Sorry to bother you again, could you kindly point out what still seems to be a problem with the article? I did change the references you mentioned. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samdani gh (talkcontribs) 06:19, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Your HighBeam account is ready!

Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
    • Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
    • If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
  • The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
  • To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. • If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
  • A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
  • HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
  • Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
  • When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.

Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:44, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Gsingh,

In each of the pages you have referenced for deletion, I am the original author at brucemccausland.com (aka: fortbruce) Each of these pages: - Samuel S. Mitchell - Matthew LRP Thompson - Walter Clarke (minister) - Thaddeus Osgood Were all researched by me and posted at wikipedia with my implied permission by the very fact that I created both the website under my own name that can be easily googled. Also, I suggest you read my "talk" page on Wikipedia where I have already hashed this out over before.

Politely,

Bruce McCausland

Fortbruce (talk) 14:19, 18 April 2012 (UTC) Fortbruce

Hi Bruce, I haven't deleted the pages, their simply tagged for copyright investigation, why don't you follow the steps under instructions for filing? I think it would be great if your willing to donate your materials to Wikipedia, their of great quality. If you have any questions about licensing them please ask me. Implied permission is not sufficient to allow inclusion into Wikipedia, you must follow the instructions on the page to license them. There are no exceptions to this rule, if you do not provide your licensing information they will be deleted one week under Wikipedia policy. Gsingh (talk) 15:44, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Logic of adding a reference section on the Dental Council page

Dear Gsingh, the logic of adding a reference section with a

tag is that references are integral to any article. They may not exist but will come up at some point. However, many new users as I have seen, especially on Indian articles (since I watch only those) do not understand how to reference articles (they don't know a MoS exists) and end up putting actual links in that section. This is just to make it easier for guys including myself who might end up editing this article in the near future. It is not an orphan section, it is much needed even if one single reference is to be added since otherwise it will show a Cite error in red and might scare off new editors. Noopur28 (talk) 07:38, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Please don't fight over this matter. Noopur28, you have a history of adding blank sections to articles, and I had asked you to stop. Do remember. Gsingh, I've added back the section and have added a source as well. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 12:56, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

April 2012

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport‎. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Starting a discussion does not mean you can keep reverting.  Abhishek  Talk 01:58, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle, read up on your policy before posting anything on this talk page and comment on the ongoing discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports. Gsingh (talk) 02:03, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
WP:BRD does not give the liberty to keep reverting. It says be bold, revert and if there is an objection, then discuss. If you continue reverting, it is called edit war.  Abhishek  Talk 02:34, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
I believe we are discussing, aren't we? Gsingh (talk) 02:42, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes you are. I am stressing the point that BRD is BRD and not BRDRR....! Hope you got it.  Abhishek  Talk 03:14, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Wiesbadener Kreuz

I have declined the speedy deletion nomination of Wiesbadener Kreuz, as it doesn't qualify under A7, the article is about a highway interchange in Germany (as a note, see the page at German Wikipedia) not a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. --kelapstick(bainuu) 00:19, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, but I put it under that because I thought it wasn't notable enough. I haven't seen anyone putting separate articles for interchanges on Wikipedia. Should it have been put for CSD due to lack of notability, or do you think it qualifies for its own article? Gsingh (talk) 00:47, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
There are two issues at hand:
  1. notability is not a criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion follows a strict set of criteria, and if, and only if, an article (not a subject) meets that criteria, can it be deleted via the CSD process. The basic criteria (notwithstanding attack pages, copyright violations, blatant advertising, etc.) is an indication of importance, which means the article must try to explain why they are important (not notable). For example, saying "X band is a very famous band" is an indication of importance, even if it turns out to be false, the article must go through PROD or AfD. This is all separate though however because some things are not able to be deleted via CSD, such as books and other creative works (TV shows, movies, etc.), products, trains, boats, and as I had mentioned, roads (there are other things, but they are not coming to me). Basically read the template, and if it is not included on the template, it is not eligible.
  2. The notability of the interchange. Wikipedia has an article on The Basketweave, which is a stretch of a larger highway in Toronto known for its interchanges, it has an article about Magic roundabouts, which are in fact, individual roundabouts. So in short, there is no exception to interchanges and the like within Wikipedia. This interchange in particular, I don't know, because the German article, although lengthy doesn't have much in the way of independent sources. You may find a more intelligent answer by asking the people at Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany or Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways.
In short, don't nominate articles for speedy deletion for notability purposes, have a read at WP:CSD (again if you already have), and try to understand the fundamentals of the process, use the PROD and AfD process for things that you think are not notable (check for sources firs as per WP:BEFORE), and when an article is about something in a non-English speaking country, check the other language Wikipedias to get a gauge of the importance of the subject in those countries. Hope this helps. --kelapstick(bainuu) 01:13, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Removing AfD template

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Alfred Fischer (judge). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this message is in error, please report it. Snotbot  t • c »  00:40, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh

I have not restored any honorifics for this page , only used his name.So , all bully talk of a block is uncalled for. The honorifics in Guru Gobind Singh and all the others do not seem to merit the same attention , which is proof enough of selective neutrality. After all , If we look at it , the other Gurus were also sacrosanct only to a small bunch of followers and they were hounded ,chased , persecuted, jailed and even assassinated by their enemies who saw them as heretics.I hope you shall take a lead in more widespread application of wiki policy instead of a pick and choose one!Realnews7 (talk) 07:23, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

As I said before, you can remove the honorifics from any article you wish to, all editors are equal on Wikipedia, so if you feel so strongly about this than you should start doing it, you seem to be very interested about Guru Gobind Singh, why not start there. Also you were the one who started this mess, by saying things about me on other people's pages. Gsingh (talk) 13:43, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

That was only to illustrate a point. I have no interest in Guru Gobind Singh or anyone else for that matter. My point simply was that on one hand , we are overly sensitive and rigidly enforcing Last name etc here , while we forget the same policies that we vouch for on other pages. Having said that , I believe , that my sense of respect for others feelings keeps me from doing these childish reverts on other pages.I have a suggestion , it is for you to decide, since the last name is Insan , would you be kind enough to put that instead of Singh. I am sorry , I never meant to hurt your feelings but instantaneous reactions can sometimes be wrong.Best regards.Realnews7 (talk) 01:01, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

No feelings hurt, just wanted to clear things up. If Insan can be proved to be used more commonly than Singh than it can be renamed, read WP:COMMONNAME for more informatino. Discuss any name changes on the talk page to form consensus. Gsingh (talk) 04:30, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
And again I wanted to stress, these policies are not made to disrespect anyone, it is to keep neutrality. I can't go around changing every article to make them comply with WP Policy, feel free to make any changes you wish to do. Gsingh (talk) 04:32, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

The common name as per my googling is Gurmeet Ram Rahim and not Singh. Will you please check that and advise! Realnews7 (talk) 03:26, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

You are correct there are more hits for Gurmeet Ram Rahim, I'll put a proposal on the talk page of the article. Please voice your opinions there. Gsingh (talk) 03:43, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Good Evening Mr. Singh:

I do understand your concern that its a small wiki about my maternal grandfather MUDUGANTI RAMGOPAL REDDY. If, you allow the article then I could send a word to my uncle/cousin's to update it with their information.

I have updated the information I have knowledge/known about my grandfather. Kindly do not request for speedy deletion as it's unfortunate that the younger generation does not know few known politicians as my grandfather was a right hand man for Mrs. Indira Gandhi. I personally visited parliament and sat on Mrs. Gandhi as a child. So,My grandfather fought for farmers in NIZAMABAD DISTRICT and been one successful politician for 3 terms which is not easy.

Kindly, review/accept and let me publish my grandfather's wiki.

The Harsimrat Badal Edit

With all due respect, I am glad you responded to add to my knowledge. I am relatively quite new to Wikipedia, and not an expert yet with its method, so that was a mistake, by not giving a reason.

And I had not removed any content, I just re-organised it, as it was mentioned that She is related to Sardar Bikram Singh Majithia, I added that she is her sister, and got married to Sukhbir Badal, and is thus the daughter in law of Parkash Singh Badal, CM of Punjab.

I thought these lines were not written in proper order, so you can look into it, and make changes accordingly Brar0075 (talk) 07:32, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

I've reverted my edit, I didn't realize that you were changing the order. Please use an edit summary for your future changes. Keep up the good work!. Gsingh (talk) 02:55, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ontario Gurdwara Committee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. You first must ensure that it meets the notability guidelines set out by Wikipedia, this can be read at WP:N. If you feel this has been met it than you may create and article. If it does not meet the notability criteria than you can still put it up on your personal user page, at User:Bratanna95. I hope you find this helpful. Gsingh (talk) 19:10, 14 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I requested a speedy deletion for that article because the only content in the article was an infobox. I believe it was speedy deleted by someone, but was later restored by an admin. From the grammar and spelling mistakes, it seems the information was copied from the Russian article, ru:Гришин, Дмитрий Сергеевич. You could ask the creator of the article if he requested it to be undeleted. If you find anything out please keep me updated as well. Happy editing! Gsingh (talk) 00:59, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi Gsingh.. I noticed that you have given warning to the user who is violating WP:Honorific at 117.208.90.83. This user has used three different IP's so far, which means that his IP may not be static. In that case, I am not sure, if I will get to read the warning. I suppose, if he continues, we should request page protection. --Vigyani (talk) 16:30, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Yup, I noticed it was the same user, that's why I sent him a final warning, if he continues to revert edits, on the same IP we can recommend a block, but only if they are in violation of WP:3RR. I don't think they would grant page protection for this problem as per WP:SEMI. Gsingh (talk) 02:19, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi.. I noticed from WP Punjab (India), that you were interesting in working on articles related to Punjab politics about two years back. I have been creating articles on Punjab MLA's since some time and have finished about 40. About 10 names are already present so that makes it total about 50. My present aim is 117, i.e. the full assembly. Will you like to join? --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 08:28, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I've just started another program in university and will be extremely busy in the near future so it won't be possible for me to work on the projects. I'll try to help out with monitoring vandalism as I've found the punjabi/indian articles pick up a fair bit of unreferenced/pointless comments. Gsingh (talk) 23:17, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

WP:BLPCRIME only applies in the case where a crime is alleged to have been committed and the process is still sub judice. Since the court has rendered a verdict its outcome is reportable. This incident was reported in several of the GTA papers. Also the fact that this was the reason that caused him to resign as parliamentary assistant makes it relevant to his political career. Orphaned non-free media (File:Telcon logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Telcon logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ontario Dental Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.oda.on.ca/about-the-oda/history-mission-a-vision. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. About Manipal and Udupi names in Devanagari scripts

Hi Gsingh, You have reverted my changes to Manipal and Udupi articles saying that you need citations for my only minor contributions ("मणिपाल" and "उडुपी" in Devanagari script). If you visit these places, you will see these names in Devanagari scripts on the display boards of Central government offices/Banks in the area. As for Konkani, it is an Aryan language similar to Marathi and not a Dravidian language. If you are not aware of these facts and do not understand the local language or how these places are pronounced locally, then kindly do not unnecessarily waste other's time by reverting their changes. Restrict your editing to the areas you are good at. pdh 16:29, 23 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PuttuHegde (talkcontribs)

Harsimrat Kaur Badal

Hi There - I saw that you have reverted my edits in "good faith". I am still a novice and there a lot for me to learn here. However, I would just highlight a couple of things based on my understanding of Wikipedia:

  • (b. July 25, 1966)is a colloquial way of mentioning the birth date. I would like to understand what's so wrong in expanding b to born? I felt it is more professional way of writing about an individual.
  • Her profession is clearly called out in the official Parliament of India website. If there is valid information and reference, why should profession be removed?
  • Her wedding date is a data point and my little understanding of how Wikipedia works, facts which are listed officially should be mentioned.

I totally appreciate your efforts but as I am learning, answers to these questions will help me understand your stance!

Thanks! Parul :) (talk) 07:34, 24 February 2014 (UTC)Parul:)

I reverted it, the only part I had intended to revert was the link to Facebook as it does not comply with wikipedia's external link policy, which can be read at wp:el. Gsingh (talk) 00:12, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

Sardar Revert Master

Dear Paaji, Out of curiosity checked your previous contributions to Wikipedia. 99% of your contributions are only reverts to what other editors have done. You are trying to keep your edit count high or at least stay active by reverting others changes let alone contributing new stuff. You are doing good job reverting and complaining. You revert changes even if there is a small mistake. Are you not bothered even to see if the editor has more or less contributed a good stuff and small corrections can be done by you instead of reverting?199.96.186.1 (talk) 18:02, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

I have checked your contribution log, it appears that your only edit made on wikipedia was to my talk page. I have no interest in artificially increasing my edit count. If its a mistake than its a mistake, and it will be reverted immediately. Please read WP:MOS if you need help with writing articles correctly, there are numerous editors, including me, on wikipedia that devote their time to maintaining the articles to keep wikipedia's quality high. If you have any problems with any of my reversions please tell me which one and I will be sure to correct it. Thank you. Gsingh (talk) 03:21, 25 April 2014 (UTC) (aka Sardar Revert Master)

Reverting some of the articles of my edits

Hi GSingh ,

I see that you have been reverting 3 of my edits . I request you to wait for another 24 hours for me to give a explanation . Before that ,i request you to temporarily stop the domino effect of reverting articles which have references to PIB and copied as it is from the site . Wiki lovesCommons sibi (talk) 15:47, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

No problem, but please be aware that you must have written permission from the source if you want to use their information (ie. they must release it either into the public domain or under a compatible license), otherwise adding further copyrighted information is taken seriously and will result in a block. Read WP:COPYVIO for more information. Thank you. Gsingh (talk) 17:16, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
I would request that the following be referred to

I strongly feel that I have not made copyright violation as imentioned in the terms of reference by the PIB . And more over I have almost acknowledged every edit I have made to PIB's page from where the URL points to .

You stated that you would give an explanation within 24 hours, that was 4 days ago. Please post any new comments regarding this case on the respective pages so the admins can review it. Gsingh (talk) 01:44, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Yes , I stated it . Yes it was fault on my part to have asked for a short time spam . Apologies for my mistake . But still, I hope that , you can have a view on the links which I have given . Yeah , I am posting it there . --Commons sibi (talk) 07:15, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Malini Bhattacharya, at least 45 days have been passed. If you still think that there is any copyright violation, you can simply rectify yourself or remove the content. Thanks OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 11:33, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi, actually the whole article is copied and pasted from various sources, the article should've been deleted but I'm not sure why it wasn't looked at. Thanks. Gsingh (talk) 19:35, 6 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello GSingh! I would like to know why the link I provided on the origin of name "Udupi" was removed. I understand it is not a news link, but such links can only be found in research websites. Thanks! GroovingD (talk) 11:54, 4 September 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by GroovingD (talkcontribs) 11:52, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

If you wish to add references you must add it in a specific format, it can be found here, WP:CITEHOW. I have removed the whole section now due to a copyright violation, if you wish to rewrite it please do so. The entire paragraph was copy and pasted from http://udupi.nic.in/History.html Gsingh (talk) 00:27, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi Gsingh. I have a financial connection with Invisalign, which I am preparing for a Good Article nomination. On the Talk page I have shared a draft of the remaining content I think would be needed to make it GAN-ready. Proper filing of Sockpuppet Investigation

Hello Gsingh, in order for a SPI to be correctly filed you need to visit Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations and then on the banner that says, "How to open an investigation:" click [show] on the right hand side. This will reveal a form that allows you to fill out the proper information. As an alternative, however, I would highly recommend enabling Twinkle in your user preferences and then using the "arv" tab in twinkle, which allows you to submit SPI cases much more quickly and efficiently, and also gives the option to automatically notify the suspected accounts. If these are not properly filled out, the clerks and check users will not be notified of the pending case. Thanks. -War wizard90 (talk) 05:58, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

article: sultan ul faqr publications

Hello Gsingh !! I have removed the deletion from Sultan ul Faqr Publications. I felt the content was written in such a way that it didn't seem much of an encyclopedia content and rather an advert. I have tried paraphrasing to comply it with a neutral point of view. Please see if it can further be improved. I also added several references as I found out that they did exist for the publication although they werent specified by the creator of the article. There is a List of Urdu language book publishing companies that contains similar articles which belong to Pakistan maybe the notability factor is low country wise. Please, check [2] [3] [4]. New deal for page patrollers

Hi Gsingh,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Whoah

I'm afraid I need new glasses. Looking at the following, I realize this.

I was 100% certain the Microsoft post actually read 'nonsense' — a (supposed) discovery which, ironically, was what shocked me enough to even begin editing the wikipedia article in the first place!

But nope. Turns out — again — nothing but me and my pressing need to see an optician.

At any rate; I'm glad you caught my error. I just wanna be clear that I wasn't out to be (huge air quotes) FUNNY or anything. I just messed up.

My bad.

Notice

The article Music Waves has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability for this unsourced mini-article from 2006. I would have nominated it for A7 speedy deletion if it wasn't so old.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Canadian Academy of Endodontics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ♠PMC(talk) 01:45, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

I have converted this to a proposed deletion in order to give you a week in which to source the article and show notability. See the below templated notice. Espresso Addict (talk) 11:14, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
