I see you declined the speedy on this article (good call, btw). There seems to have been an ongoing problem with user:VikasJain. I'm assuming good faith and guessing that the user is unfamiliar with the maintenance and CSD tags. I removed all (about half a dozen) of the speedy tags and dropped the user a note, only to come back online alter to see another tag on it. I have gotten a page related to the Golden Raspberry Awards (commonly called "Razzies") to quality of Featured List, the page is 29th Golden Raspberry Awards. However, Razzinator (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)'s pattern of behavior of adding wholly unsourced articles to multiple articles that then has to be removed or changes undone (by multiple other editors including myself) is not limited to just the Razzie Awards' pages, but other pages as well. You think I am uninvolved enough to block him for the continued disruption, as he has already been blocked twice by two other different admins for the same behavior? Nothing that I can find. Blocks are meant to be preventative - to prevent the user continuing the behavior they were blocked for, whether by scaring the shit out of them or just preventing them from returning (indef blocks). This user crops up irregularly to post this stuff, normally about once a week - a 24-hour block doesn't really work preventatively (the whole "scaring the shit out of them" thing is all well and good, but the ignoring of the constant warnings/deletion templates shows they obviously aren't interested). Incomplete move to commons

Hi, I know you are a picture expert!

In the case of File:Through the Back Door DVD cover.jpg it has two images in the history, but only the latest was moved to commons. What is the correct way to move the old edition (at [1] to commons? Kohli Yuga

I saw that you declined a G12 on Narendra Kohli, I didn't realize which side the flow of info was. However, I came to this page because of something else on another page - सांस्कृतिक_पुनरुत्थान_का_युग_(कोहली_युग). I put a Prod on that page because I couldn't figure out a speedy tag for it. There's this term "Kohli Yuga" which means "Era of Kohli", and there's no such thing that I'm aware of in Hindi literature. I searched the web for it, and found five pages in total, one was the Wikipedia entry, the second the paper I cited for the copy vio, and the remaining three cited Wikipedia as the reference. ok, thanks, that's kinda what I was going to do, but then in this particular case, it isn't exactly history since they're referring to the current period of Hindi literature, and I read a bit of it, so I'm a bit surprised at this. Revenue assurance

A short self introduction, my name is Gadi Solotorevsky, I am the chief Scientist of cVidya, a Revenue Assurance software vendor, and I am the team leader of the TM Forum RA team, since the team was founded in 2004.

I am completely new to contributing to the Wikipedia, so I am not sure what the best way to do it is.

I understand that the entry for Revenue Assurance was manipulated by in the past and that is the reason that it is limited for editing. I certainly would like to see it as a non-protected entry in the future.

OK. After saying all that, I propose the following modification, in the article appears

“This may be because the survey used a very strict definition of leakage”

I propose to modify it to

"This may be because the survey used a very strict definition of leakage. The survey measured only actual under-billed and unbilled amounts discovered by the participants; it excluded other types of leakages such as cost leakages and loss of opportunity leakages, and it excluded projected leakage estimations that are commonly used (i.e., what would have been the amount of leakage, if the leakage would not been discovered by revenue assurance activities)."

Lucifugum

Greetings, Graeme Bartlett! First of all I would like to excuse for my huge message, but I need to detaily talk you about my problem. I need a kind administrator’s help. I mean Lucifugum article which was deleted. I found your positive comment at a discussion page and decided to ask for your help. I created this article a year ago (in May, 2008) and everything was ok until User:Blackmetalbaz decided to nominate this article for deletion. It happened on the first decade of this month. Before this he edited this article many times during a year and everything was fine, but suddenly he decided to delete it. To be honest, I don’t understand his motives. It doesn’t seem to me fair and I explain why: there are many articles of the same and even less notability (Diaboli, Clandestine Blaze, Deathspell Omega, Xasthur, Black Funeral, Astrofaes etc). Blackmetalbaz edited some of them, but never nominated it for deletion. Why? No answer. I want you to know that I’m not an aggressive guy, I’m a good boy, but I repeat, motives of Blackmetalbaz are not clear to me. I’m sorry for this, but I have to let you know about it. If you check the history of a deleted page you will see that Blackmetalbaz did everything possible to delete it. He’s a very smart, educated and experienced user, he knows all Wikipedia rules, and it’s very hard for me to prove that he’s very wrong with Lucifugum. This article was deleted via the deleted discussion, but if you read the materials of this discussion (Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Lucifugum) you will see that just Blackmetalbaz, his friend User:Drmies (who always supports Blackmetalz) and me, Blackpauk_1488, took part in this discussion. This discussion was not objective. I was not able to prove anything to these guys, they didn’t want to listen to me. I think they decided to delete this article despite of everything and at any cost. And they’re successful, because, I repeat, they’re very experienced users, English is their native language (unlike me). As a result, they won, and I’m a loser. But Lucifugum is a notable band, that’s why I want so much this page undeleted. This band released 3 albums on big indie metal labels (Drakkar and BlackMetal.Com). I mean rule #5 of WP:MUSIC. Moreover, there are 13 (!!!) interwikies of Lucifugum. Blackmetalbaz doesn’t wish to see any sign of notability in it (by the way, despite your opinion), but to be honest, I’m not agree with his point of view. This band is well-known in many countries, that’s why there are many interwikies. I think it could be a sign of notability (at least minimal). I sent a request for undeletion, and User:Fabrictramp kindly userfied this article to me at User:Black pauk1488/Lucifugum. But I was so stupid and made many mistakes, because of a lack of experience and problems with English. I try very much to be a good user, but some specific terminology is so hard for me to understand, and my brains work slowly in such cases. That’s why I need so much an administrator’s help (User:Fabrictramp advised me to ask an experienced user to help me). Today I’ve made some corrections at User:Black pauk1488/Lucifugum. Could you please find a few minutes to check for mistakes and to estimate if this band notable? I added a reference to Librarius Metallicus: http://www.librariusmetallicus.com/Band/view/2019 Unlike Metal Archives, this is not a user modified source, it can be edited only by administrators. I suppose it could be considered a reliable source. HJMitchell has placed a link to this source at a discussion page before this article was deleted. HJMitchell considered this band notable and removed a deletion tag, but Blackmetalbaz immediately reversed it. Why??? I don’t know. If you find this band notable, could you please move this data to a necessary place? I’m so stupid user and don’t know how to do it. I made many mistakes and don’t want to repeat it again. And a one more request. If you recreate Lucifugum article, could you please leave a note at a discussion page that band is notable? Otherwise, Blackmetalbaz will immediately nominate it for deletion again. Only administrator’s opinion will influence him. Sorry for my bad English. Sorry to clog up your userpage. I've left some comments on Pauk's page as well, and have frequently tried to explain why the sources he's using are not reliable. I would like your opinion on something though... the "1488" in Pauk's username is almost certainly a reference to the fourteen words; I usually spot this stuff fairly fast, but this one went over my head. I am the admin of pashto wikipedia, I am writing to you because recently one of my Afghan compatriot who is living in the US, complained to me about an article written about him in English wikipedia. There are some individuals who are trying to put false information regarding some Afghan personalities. Unfortunately they do this because of the ethnic differences that exist in Afghanistan. Some of the Tajiks of Afghanistan simply hate other Pashtuns because they have some complexes, or some just being used for the interest of our neighbouring countries. They are serious threats for the national unity and interest of Afghanistan. I got an email from a friend of mine Nabi Misdaq that someone has published slander and lies about him in the wikipedia article. And his claim is true, when i saw the histroy of the article. A user by the name KParta had written all the nonsense and rubish that he could come up with.

Now i kindly ask you to lock the article with the title Nabi Misdaq in front of the unregisterd and newly registered users. I have done the same in Pashto wikipedia.

Asmahan, Farid al Atrash and Golan

You reverted both my Asmahan and Farid al Atrash edits, listen, The Atrash family is Syrian, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrash

Farid was born in Syria to Syrian parents and later moved to Egypt. Asmahan is his sister. How can the articles call them Egyptians of Syrian origin? This is offensive and a lie. They was naturalized citizens in Egypt.

Golan is by the whole world considered a part of Syria and this is not disputed in any way. To call it "disputed" and that Syria "controlled" it for this many years next to Israeli controll is making the reader believe that Isarel has as much claim to the land as Syria. This is complete lie and not neutral.

The Israeli presence there is Israeli settlements, nothing else, to call them "Jewish communities" is not a Neutral Point of View because they are considered settlements by the UN and every country on earth. You seem to have no clue as to what "naturalized citizens" means. Naturalization is the process through which a country bestows its nationality on a person as if that person were a naturally born citizen of it. Hello Graeme, i just saw that the page i created relating to data visualization tools have been deleted, but could you reconsider the deletion, or can i recreate another page please?

The reason why i created the page is because that i would like to provide some information on the company, as i have seen many companies have done it and they have been accpeted, for example:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tableau_Software. When i read what i wrote on the page, i probably wrote it in a promotional way, is it possible to do it again in a more informative way?

Blocked editor causing trouble

Hi Graeme, you will probably find that this user that you blocked is also this user (also blocked by User:Rifleman_82) and this user. The last two have identified themselves as Lysdexia in edits (hence the block) and now also here here. Even without the "self-identification", they have to be the same user, given the adversarial and arrogant attitude in edit summaries/talk pages, and the unusual mainspace edits (sheer, liquor etc.). This user is definitely a disruptive editor, and continues to insert obscure words or alterations based on the user's self-professed knowledge of Latin. I am sure you were justified in the change you made, but I was hoping for clarification on the rules. If Wikia is GFDL and someone copies their content, don't they have to cite the original authors? If not, it is as if they are passing the content off as their own (plagiarism) and therefore have violated the GFDL conditions. (#2 - #5 are met, but #1 isn't)

If the version of Maude Storey that was created by Jamaica Plains was an unambigious copyright violation, then the identically worded text that you've just restored and placed at User:Rms125a@hotmail.com/Maude Storey is a copyright violation, too. And, indeed, when I compared what you restored against the article whose copyright was reportedly violated, I found find all of the same sentences there in the article, word for word the same as the original, just rearranged into a slightly different order. Titling an biographical entry

I wondered if you could clarify something for me.

I have created an entry for a person who was born Edward Albert but who was known as Ted Albert through his adult life. I titled the article Edward 'Ted' Albert but someone has moved it under a new heading Ted Albert. Any thoughts on which form meets the style guidelines? Hi Graeme, I spent some time researching this topic. As well as being almost unreadable, there is virtually no facts in the article except that the RMS Rangitata existed -to remove the untruths from its current form would blank the article. Hi, could you please reinstate the manchester city logo. This seems to have been a very clever vandalism attack. A user created the logo as an svg, then replaced the png logo on all articles. The png was then deleted since it was not used in any articles. Now the svg has been delted, this is an important image in several articles, at least one of which is a Featured article. On the subject of the Golan Heights. This territory falls legally within the Internationally recognized boundaries of Syria (see: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/sy.html and http://www.un.org/Depts/Cartographic/map/profile/syria.pdf). It was seized by Israel through war in 1967. If there's any truth or credibility to Wikipedia, then International Law must be respected and not the law of Israel; Israel is the only country in the world that refuses to delineate its own borders. The Golan Heights, however, fall within Syria and for Wikipedia to simply identify it as "Disputed Territory" is untrue and is illegal. What are you doing about it?
On the Subject of Farid and Asmahan Al-Atrash, as I have explained in their respective discussion pages, they were singers that hailed from Syria and Lebanon, but emigrated to Egypt as infants where they applied for and were granted Egyptian citizenship and thus became Egyptian citizens. Their entire musical repertoires were in Egyptian Arabic. They lived for virtually the remainder of their lives in Egypt and were buried in Egypt, together with other members of their immediate family. My statement, that they were Egyptian of Syrian-Lebanese origin, is thus absolutely accurate. To deny their choice of homeland that they made during their lifetime is wrong and misleading. To call them Syrian is exactly the same as calling Obama Kenyan! How much more misleading can things be on Wikipedia?
I am not enjoying those so-called "edit wars" either, but it seems that whoever has got more time on their hands, and somehow has reverting rights, is getting their way and spreading their wishful thinking opinions on Wikipedia. Mr./Ms. Deliciousness, please be a little more respectful and do not use words like "lies". You seem to have a very narrow/localized understanding of the meaning of nationality/citizenship. Bloodline is only one way to be a citizen of a certain country. People make choices in life and citizenship is one thing that people can and do change through immigration and naturalization, and most importantly through their choice of homeland, source of livelihood, and burial place for their remains. "Nationality is traditionally based either on jus soli ("right of the territory") or on jus sanguinis ("right of blood"), although it now usually mixes both." ref: Naturalization. It is clear from the article and your own words on the discussion page that Farid and Asmahan immigrated to Egypt with their mother and older brother and were naturalized as Egyptian citizens. It is unclear if they ever carried the passports of any other country. So, to state that they were Egyptian of Syrian-Lebanese origin is absolutely accurate. Farid and Asmahan immigrated to Egypt in 1923, according to the article, so Farid (born in 1915) was 8 years old and Asmahan (born in 1918) was 5. This is infant age in my view. Farid and Asmahan made their careers in Egypt and chose Egypt as homeland for the remainder of their lives, as did their older brother Foad. They are all buried in Egypt. Foad's son, Faysal Al-Atrash, is Egyptian and continues to live in Egypt. Many families originating in one country have branches in other countries. Many Egyptian families have origins in Syria, Lebanon, or even as far away as Morocco, Greece, and Italy! The Al-Atrash family of Egypt is one such family. The big size is good when someone clicks on it, but for inclusion in the article, about one third of the width of the screen is good. It looks much more realistic now with the actual data. Perhaps the numeric figures should be in a column next to the date and not on top of the bars. Question about transwikied redirects

Hello,

I see you changed the two pages (Starbucks City Mug & Common Test Cases) into redirects rather than deleting them. That's fine by me, but I was wondering why they weren't deleted. I thought this sort of crosswiki redirects were discouraged and in both cases the full history was imported to Wikibooks. I also informed all meaningful contributors of the new location. Thus, there is no need for such a redirect that I can think of, but maybe you can clue me in. :)

In the past I have been annoyed by articles that were transwikied, and then I could not find them any more because there was no link left in the en wikipedia. The wikibooks could just as well be another web site or a black hole. So if I see it happening I like to make a connection. This is just a template, a framework used to create a large number of articles, most of which (for the older ones) have very little content, and some of them (like 1660s) without any content. As of today: The subject of the article has requested that personal information such as genealogy be omitted, because of an outstanding court case regarding a violent stalker, internet impersonator, and copyright violator. There is a fear that public records will be used to locate and potentially harm her or her family. Images for Deletion

Hi Graeme Bartlett, User:Mussav uploaded a series of images on Iraqi Football players. However, these images are from the FIFA website and fail WP:NFCC#1 and violate WP:NFC#Unacceptable use, Images, #12. I have discussed the copyright issue with Mussav here and here. I will not stoop down to the tactics of Miss Deliciousness (since she implies that she's not anonymous, then that's probably her real name). Miss Deliciousness does not seem to realize that interjecting her blurbs between already posted contributions detroys the chronology of the thread and just lacks courtesy!
In any case, please see the official STATE INFORMATION SERVICE website of the GOVERNMENT OF EGYPT. The Egyptian Government lists Farid Al-Atrash as one of the country's prominent EGYPTIAN FIGURES (see: http://www.sis.gov.eg/VR/figures/english/html/Farid.htm). The website states that Farid left Syria with his mother (and as it is well known, also with his siblings Fouad and Asmahan) "at a small age". The Wikipedia Article itself states that Farid and Asmahan immigrated to Egypt at ages 8 and 5, respectively, and were naturalized as Egyptian citizens. They lived for the rest of thier lives in Egypt (except for Asmahan who was briefly married in Syria before returning home to Egypt) and all are buried in Egypt. Virtually ALL of their musical work was created in Egypt and in the Egyptian dialect.
Since the Governemnt of Egypt declares Farid (as it did also his mother and siblings) as an Egyptian Figure, on par with Egyptian Giants Mohamed Abdel-Wahab and Umm Kolthoum, then my statement in the article that Farid and Asmahan were Egyptian of Syrian-Lebanese origin is absolutely and entirely accurate.

Deleted my Google SatView Photo

You recently deleted an image I had uploaded from a cropped Google Maps Satellite image. While I'll admit this was my first ever attempt at uploading a photo, I may have not ingested all the CR info here on wiki. However, I thought that Google Maps is obviously free to use for anyone, and if I 'screen cap' it, then edit the photo by cropping, zooming or rotating, something about that file makes it inherently mine. I could not find anything under the description for uploading photos, other than "screenshot", which is obviously what this originated from. Now, if it is in fact a CR violation to use anything Google related, then I accept that. However, if I can make it work, please let me know how to make it work. I thought this photo especially was vital for my article and it was really neat to show how something that was there 20 years ago can still be seen in some form. Could you move them back? There is no consensus at all to move them and this user has never brought up the discussion. Extreme Rules is part of the One Night Stand line, but there is no evidence that every future event will be named it. In fact, past discussions have support keeping them at their previous names. I have also started a move request to until the move you did with The Bash. Did you take a look at discussion pages? This move seems like one of those shady deals they do in Congress where they introduce a controversial bill on Friday night since they know most people won't be paying attention. Ok, I moved the graph from the work area to a proper template area.

In addition, this now has a navbar for view/talk/edit, so it gives you the popup view of a larger graph, since if you click view, it will bring you to the subpage and the large graph exists on it.

Chris Velan

Hi Graeme, you recently deleted my entry on Chris Velan due to Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.three-eighteen.com/pastshows_09.htm and http://www.reverbnation.com/chrisvelan and others. When I first saw the "speedy deletion" notice, I fixed a few things that I thought were the problem, but obviously there was more. Can the page be restored so I can fix anything else that is in violation? I see the issue with reverb nation although I'm not sure what the "others" refers to. I may have done this upload at the same time as you perparing a new one. Is the current map what you want? Also it is very likely that cases in Victoria are 8000 or so, but testing and showing results have stopped there. What do you think we should od in this situation? Sorry, I missed this comment. As for SA - it was set for 50+ in my update. ACT is set for 50+ in my currently pending update. For Victoria... as long as there's no reputably sourced number for 5000+ I don't think the colour should change. SD's edit warring, not just with me but with numerous others, SD's arguably racist comments as other users have asserted, SD's repeated complaints for exactly the same behavior that they pursue, SD's name calling, e.g., troll, lies, etc., and SD's emotional involvement with their ethnic origin that goes beyond any degree of tolerance or courtesy are not acceptable.
