Uncletom and GhorpaapiTomorrow is Friday! Yay! Now, I have a couple of questions. (I know, I ask a lot of questions.)
It's good to ask questions, right? ~~JHUbal27 00:32, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Thome FACHappy to look, and I've made a start. No major issues, I don't think. I've done some copy-editing rather than list a load of fussy points. I'll let you take a look before continuing, in case I'm messing anything up. Feel free to revert anything you don't like. Your input might be helpful. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:08, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Your GAN for Arlen Specter is under reviewI just thought I'd let you know that your GAN for Arlen Specter is under review by DCI2026. Maybe you've been too busy to take a look at it, but I thought it couldn't hurt to remind you in case you forgot. Perhaps part of the problem is that they started the review on March 17 but didn't post anything substantial until March 30. Anyway, please take a look at it when you get a chance. Adopting Earth100?Yesterday, you commented on Earth100 (talk · contribs)'s talk page regarding an adoption issue. He has asked me to ask you if you would consider being his mentor. Please see his talk page if you are interested. Thanks! Inks.LWC (talk) 21:56, 21 April 2013 (UTC) Thank you !Hello there ! Thank you for taking time and effort for my adoption process . I am really thankful to you for it and the further guidance. Ghorpaapi (talk) 07:10, 22 April 2013 (UTC) Re:WikiCup scoringSorry, I'd be inclined to say that that doesn't count as significant work; it's a long article, and worth a few bonus points, but you've only done some slight reordering and added some references. Important work, certainly, but I'd be inclined not to say significant. J Milburn (talk) 08:42, 22 April 2013 (UTC) Like[1] Ryan Vesey 19:35, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Quote of the WeekSo, have you ever considered updating your Quote of the Week? Your Wikipedia=crack quote's been there for almost a month. Are you planning a Quote of the Month now? ZappaOMati 23:05, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
BaseballI like baseball, but I've never been a mega fan so I don't follow the day-to-day information (In fact, I probably couldn't name more than three players on the roster Morneau, Mauer, and my personal favorite, Willingham to be exact). I'm not exactly a fair weather fan, because I always support the team, but I don't actively follow them unless they're doing really good, so I'm probably on the cusp of that. It also doesn't help that I'm in college. I'm fairly busy and I don't get to watch any games (although this time last year, I was following them much more closely). In any case, I'm digressing a ton. I was making fun of my roommate because he went to a Phillies game and they almost lost to the Royals (and were beat in the other two games of the series). I guess that's not so much of a thing to make fun of them for, since the Royals are leading the division. What's up with that? The Twins aren't doing horrendously right now either, I've got no classes to worry about (aside from tomorrow) so I'll need to pick it up and start following them a bit more closely. Taking a digression from the stuff unrelated to Wikipedia, there are empty tables at 2013 Minnesota Twins season#Detailed records and 2013 Kansas City Royals season#Detailed records that look pretty bad. Do you think there's somebody over at WikiProject Baseball who can make a single template for every team so all of them will be updated? Ryan Vesey 02:23, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

DRN discussionHi. I am not involved and I have already contacted Steven Zhang about this, but if you don't mind, can you please take a look at Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Ghost_in_the_Shell.2C_Talk:Ghost_in_the_Shell? There seems to be a disagreement between three users over splitting the content, but I think this issue needs to be resolved. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 14:35, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

I hope that you've had the opportunity to get some of your real world work done! I just wanted to let you know that I'm headed to a major conference to present my research from May 6-9th. Semi-WikiBreakHello all, the next few weeks of my life are going to be extraordinarily busy due to some real life commitments. I will try to pop in now and then, but I need some time to focus on things that are going on off of Wikipedia. Editor of the Week, the Signpost, and my adoptees will be me top priorities when I am online, and I will continue to work on Jim Thome in article space, but the rest of what I do is likely to see a significant decrease for a couple of weeks until some real life activities die down a bit. I would appreciate the help of some talk page stalkers (User:Ryan Vesey, User:AutomaticStrikeout, and User:Buster7, particularly you three, though any other help would also be appreciated) during this intermittent activeness, and I apologize in advance if it takes longer than normal for me to handle requests, respond to questions, etc. Thank you all for your understanding, and I will be back in my full doses as soon as I can. Sincerest regards, Go Phightins! 16:32, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
WikiCup 2013 April newsletterWe are a week into Round 3, but it is off to a flying start, with Sven Manguard (submissions) claiming for the high-importance Portal:Sports and Portal:Geography (which are the first portals ever awarded bonus points in the WikiCup) and Cwmhiraeth (submissions) claiming for a did you know of sea, the highest scoring individual did you know article ever submitted for the WikiCup. Round 2 saw very impressive scores at close; first place Casliber (submissions) and second place Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) both scored over 1000 points; a feat not seen in Round 2 since 2010. This, in part, has been made possible by the change in the bonus points rules, but is also testament to the quality of the competition this year. Pool C and Pool G were most competitive, with three quarters of participants making it to Round 3, while Pool D was the least, with only the top two scorers making it through. The lowest qualifying score was 123, significantly higher than last year's 65, 2011's 41 or even 2010's 100. The next issue of The Signpost is due to include a brief update on the current WikiCup, comparing it to previous years' competitions. This may be of interest to current WikiCup followers, and may help bring some more new faces into the community. We would also like to note that this round includes an extra competitor to the 32 advertised, who has been added to a random pool. This extra inclusion seems to have been the fairest way to deal with a small mistake made before the beginning of this round, but should not affect the competition in a large way. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to contact one of the judges. A rules clarification: content promoted between rounds can be claimed in the round after the break, but not the round before. The case in point is content promoted on 29/30 April, which may be claimed in this round. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. AllergiesGet yourself some Chlortrimeton. It's an over-the-counter anti-allergy medication you can buy just about anywhere and it will whipe our your allergies in a heartbeat. A warning though, it may make you drowsy, but drowsy is better than sneezing. :) Feel better soon. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 01:48, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Bragging about barnstars on THQI know you weren't bragging... I was having a little fun to get people to chuckle... There's immediately a problem with this user, with two majorly out-of-order edits: [2][3]. As you've literally just spoken with them (an hour or so ago), I'd appreciate it if you sorted them out, without me having to go to the drama boards with a case. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 20:15, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
OK, here's a question User:Gtwfan52, User:ZappaOMati, and User:Lukeno94: do we go to ANI about this? Nothing has happened since those two errant edits, but they are extremely suspicious. Thoughts? Go Phightins! 22:12, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Well, I said myself I'd rather avoid ANI (it's a very mixed bag when I look at the responses to the cases I've filed in the past) for this, as it only appears to be one day's worth of dodginess. Also, I object to the stereotypical comment about teenagers, since I've never engaged in this sort of behaviour during my two-year stay here, and didn't act like this elsewhere, even when I was younger.
