Hello GlassCobra. Thank you very much for your support in my recent Request for Adminship, which was successful with 111 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutral. I have to say I am more than a little overwhelmed by this result and I greatly appreciate your trust in me. I will do my best to use the tools wisely (and be sure to pay attention to who's talk page I'm editing :) ). Thanks again. Regards. Thingg⊕⊗00:22, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Hey there! Just a note thanking you for supporting my RFA which successfully passed with 60 supports, 0 opposes and 2 neutrals. I hope I'll be able to live up to everyone's expectations, and thank you for trusting me! All the best, Ale_Jrbtalk20:30, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Xymmax RfA
I'd like to take a minute to let you know that I appreciate your support in my recently-closed RfA, which passed with a count of 56 in support, 7 in opposition, and 2 neutrals. I'll certainly try to justify your faith by using the tools wisely. Happy editing, and thanks again! XymmaxSo let it be writtenSo let it be done23:32, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Tognola
Hi, I see that you deleted my submission on Mr. Victor Tognola stating that it was "Blatant Advertising", I would appreciate if you could let me know which parts you considered as "blatant advertising" so they may be either re-written or deleted as I was convinced that I had staid within the guidlines for posting. Thanks in advance for your help Maxnex Maxnex (talk) 15:31, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Your hook has already been verified by RyanCross. It is in the Oct 15 section, meaning you will have to wait for several days until you see it on Main Page. --BorgQueen (talk) 12:10, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I verified the hook several days ago, and it'll probably be moved to T:DYK/N in a few days or so. We try to use expiring nominations first for the next update so that the hooks and articles don't become stale, rather than using newer hooks unless it's absolutely necessary. – RyanCross (talk) 06:49, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Wikistalk.py tool?
GC, at one point many moons ago, you posted
this to AN/K. I remember it working before, but it doesn't seem to work now. Know anything else that has this functionality? Jclemens (talk) 06:58, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
DYK for Hansjörg Wyss
On 21 October, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Hansjörg Wyss, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
I appreciate the removal of the Gears of War 2 details, as they are not neccessary. However, the removal of the details regarding the criminal case are true, so I will edit them back in.
As you see, he and Hjensen are changing Nadal article at their own, destroying others work, and guess whos gonna pay for it? me?
If this is what you want to make with Wikipedia, then I'll asume the block. But I will not stop reverting their VANDALISM. Korlzor (talk) 19:33, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm sorry I'll remove I just got mad having to RV this page alot, Wikipedia is one of the most viewd sites by people who want to research etc. and it should have the correct information.--LGK (talk) 19:08, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
I note that the content I added for Jack Cook Jangala has been deleted. I note that the reason is "copyright infringement". I however, own the page that you say it is infinging the copyright of. Can you advise how we address this conundrum?
Additionally, I note that one other comment is that it is not significant. I would argue that as Jack is the only remaining elder that paints in his community and paints some exceptional artworks (collected worldwide) that his work is significant and of interest to proponents of Aboriginal Art.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Mark Roots

Misspelled Indonesian Name
I would gladly redirect the from the misspelled article if I knew how. Can you either do it for me or tell me how it's done (as long as it's really, really simple)? Regards Badmintonhist (talk) 00:38, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
I'll check that instructional later, thanks. If you can do this for me now the correct version is Sarwendah Kusumawardhani. Thanks again. Badmintonhist (talk) 00:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Re:Mops
It was very nice of you to consider me experienced enough for an RfA. However, I feel I haven't worked enough to try for it. Quite frankly I don't have enough experience in creating GAs and FAs and majority of my work has been related with countering vandalism. However, I'd like to be considered for adminship one day and in fact have been looking around in order to improve my knowledge on working of wikipedia. If you don't mind me asking, would be interested in helping me? LeaveSleavestalk15:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi GlassCobra! Thank you very much for your support and comments in the RfA. It passed today, and your trust in my abilities is much appreciated :) Cheers, Ynhockey(Talk)22:48, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
the steve arb thing
G'day Glass - I noticed your response on the arbitration talk page, and thought I'd swing by here - firstly, just to mention that if you do feel like talking stuff through in a bit more detail (I guess this would include chatting about the thread on Jimbo's talk page too, if you'd like), then I'm happy to - and my talk page is always open, or I can bang on here for a bit :-) I'm not sure if we've crossed paths much in the past, and I guess serendipity is cajoling us into the same parts of the wiki at the moment - it's nice to 'meet' you :-)
On the steve matter, I do feel that the situation is sensitive, and a bit complicated - per my original request for clarification, I think there was some sort of agreement, which has morphed into an official ban. The presence of such a ban without an arb case, and particularly without an 'on-wiki' committee vote, isn't, in my view 'best practice' - and is worth fixing up, even at this stage :-) happy to chat further if you'd like. best, Privatemusings (talk) 20:20, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
As the discussion on my talk page thickens, please keep in mind I'm not complaining about your action or reasoning, I understand what happened, I'm only talking about the outcome, to stir up some thinking. Cheers, Gwen Gale (talk) 14:21, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

I did see your reply--and thank you! I used your advice and have currently requested help from one of the users on that list. I appreciate the help! Gladys J Cortez14:29, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
You're right, of course; all I can say is, if you look at the edit history of that page, especially how many times the SAME trollish edits have been made with no real consequences...well, you're STILL right. :) I've been under the weather for the past few days, including some REALLY annoying symptoms, and I should know better than to edit when cranky. Thanks for the gentle reminder--I'll do better in the future. :) Gladys J Cortez18:36, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

"Reality" show contestants
I thought it was concluded some time ago that there are so many of these shows on the air nowadays that just being a "reality" show contestant, like being a gameshow contestant, no longers constitute a claim of notability, until and unless a contestant acquires serious media attention as a result of it. --Orange Mike | Talk21:18, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.
I'm not a believer in template RfA thankyous, so this is a short handwritten note to say thansk fro your support in my RfA which closed at 96/0/2, and I agree with your comment that AfD's are never a bad idea when in doubt. Balloonman's CSD question was a good opportunity to reflect on the importance of accurate tagging - a lesson I will take to heart going forward. So thanks again and feel free to stop by with any advice or a gentle push in the right direction if I seem to need one. :) Euryalus (talk) 11:39, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Just diving in (saw your note on Lara's page) but the substantial part of that image has come from here. Just adding a black box with some text seems unlikely to classify as "self made" Pedro : Chat 11:44, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the talk on IRC. I hope you enjoy your stay. Such a lovely country, and a great place to find solace. I know when I was there, I found peace. You seem pretty cool. Lawshoot!11:52, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
My main concern with this WikiProject isn't so much that it's been inactive forever and a day, but more that it's never really done anything. By my count, there are only three each of country music-related FAs and GAs, one of which (Diamond Rio) was my own doing. Looking at the contributions, I see nothing significant that any member has done besides sporadic WikiGnome work — in most cases, they've long since ceased to edit country music articles in general, and about half the members have left the project or only ever did <10 edits. As I said, most of the links to the project come from {{countrybanner}}, a template which I did most of the placement for. So basically, I've done about 3/4 of the work for this project in the past 2 years. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP)20:03, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Well you could try googling me. My films are humanitarian focused which we use to help raise awareness of subjects that are not often addressed in main stream media. If you feel my work is not worth then please delete it. I hope it makes you feel better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Atweddle (talk • contribs) 22:11, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Country wikiproject
"If I were TPH, I would start poring through the histories of country articles and leaving "join-the-project" notes on the talk pages of everyone there, even people who just swept in for a quick cleanup." That's the problem. Almost everyone who "sweeps in" is usually an SPA or an IP, and usually all they do is vandalize or add POV. I've tried asking nicely on IRC and, except for User:X! helping me with Diamond Rio discography, all I ever get is "go get stuffed, I hate country music" or words to that effect. The only other country editors I see are already members of the project anyway (regulars like Caldorwards4, Eric444, EndaleComplex, and semi-regulars like BravesFan2006, Martin4647, etc.), and they mostly do WikiGnome work. Yes, I was probably a little bitter when I nominated the project for deletion, and yes, I'm still disgusted that country is by far the most ignored musical genre on the whole project. But I'll take your suggestion and see if I can get anyone, although by now I think that's highly unlikely. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP)14:41, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
I took it to MFD because I felt that it had been stillborn. The founder abandoned the project, and more than half of the editors never really did anything. As for all the names I mentioned, none of them seem to show much interest in new article creation. Eric444 is a good writer when he puts his mind to it, and both he and Martin4647 create a lot of song and album stubs. The problem is that none of the country editors are consistently good enough at writing and source-finding to help build up a good article, and I've yet to find anyone who is. Note that I did 99.9% of the work on Diamond Rio myself. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP)15:19, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Re: User Talk SJrX10
Yes Sorry, I was following advice on #wikipedia on irc.freenode.net and misunderstood what someone said, I did remove it, almost immediatetly after, so I'm not sure how you saw it. SJrX10 (talk) 05:06, 20 November 2008 (UTC)SJrX10
Yeah, maybe I'm still a little bitter. I don't see much use in a task list that's never updated and probably never will be. Could the tasklist at least be redirected for now, and un-redirected when the project wakes up again? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP)18:06, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Regarding the MFD discussion here, I've decided instead that we should tag the project as historical (and maybe remove or archive the list of articles). I think that the templates like {{expand}} are fine, but of course the references to RFE should be removed from them.
