Image Tagging for Image:Pavlodar coat of arms.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Pavlodar coat of arms.png. However, the copyright tag you've used is deprecated or obsolete, and should not be used. This could be because the tag is inaccurate or misleading, or because it does not adequately specify the copyright status of the image. Sorry for delay

Hi Geevee, I edit lots of film articles and most usually don't keep a watch on them. Sorry for letting you wait. I answered in the film article. By the way, if a 2 column list is too wide apart (which happens if the list items are short) you can try a 3 column one with the 3rd column just emply (edit to see):

This brings the 2 used columns closer. However, if there are any images used in the same section, don't use a 3rd column. For any further questions, please post in my talk page. Enjoy your edits. Hoverfish 12:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like I was wrong about using a 2 column list with an image. Part of the text was covered by the image. I turned it to 3 columns now and also replaced the subheaders with bold text so we don't have the "edit" displaying each time. I hope you like it so. Hoverfish 14:54, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Photographs

Wikimedia Commons?
P. S. Насчет изображения Мариинского дворца не возражаю.Geevee (talk|contribs) 15:48, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Geevee (talk|contribs) 16:47, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Произойдет. Надо просто дать файлу в Commons другое имя :) --Ghirla -трёп- 18:32, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On second thoughts, I restored your superb image of the Mariinsky Palace in Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna and State Council of Imperial Russia. Best, Ghirla -трёп- 21:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, the Saint Petersburg Legislative Assembly stub has been created. Colchicum 21:01, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request

Thanks for uploading nice pictures of the arch and the mosque. There are actually some fairuse pictures for which I can't find free replacements. These include Image:Molva.jpg and Image:Simon-anne.jpg. If I don't find free images of these objects, these pictures will be deleted soon. If you have an opportunity to take a photograph of them, I will appreciate your help. --Ghirla -трёп- 18:27, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have a photo of Saints Simon and Anne Church, but it is not very good quality. But it will be enough to replace copyvio image. Look: Image:Simon and Anne Church.jpg. Sorry, but I have no picture of Molvinsky Column, I have been to Catherinhof only once. I haven't see it and I am a little bit confused to see some izba on background :) I didn't think there are village houses in Catherinhof. But I can be wrong, of course Geevee (talk|contribs) 18:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's OK. By the way, please remember that images in Commons are categorized. If you want me and other editors to find this particular image among 1,000,000 pictures in Commons, you should categorize it as part of Category:Churches of Russia by typing Category:Churches of Russia below the image. Thank you for showing me article about differences of minor and major changes, I didn't know it. I thought that major change is adding of new paragraph, for examle...
I didn't understand where to put an announcement. Simply write in "December 1-15" section? What new article do you mean? About Siversky? Geevee (talk|contribs) 18:56, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct in either assumption. --Ghirla -трёп- 18:58, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Photos

Hello Geevee! Thanks for putting up such a great photo of the Blue Bridge (Saint Petersburg) - it obviously made it to the front page! You don't happen to have a photo of the First Engineer Bridge as well? And do you have a photo of the Moscow Triumphal Gates? An article which lost its image due to copyright concerns. -- Best regards, Odengatan 12:24, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for compliments to my photo of Blue Bridge :) Sorry, but I don't have a photo of the First Engineer Bridge. I will try to make it sometimes. Anyway, I do have some photos of the Moscow Triumphal Gate, I've just uploaded them! Two of three were put to the article. Geevee (talk|contribs) 14:43, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that's great! Odengatan 16:11, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's my pleasure :) Geevee (talk|contribs) 18:07, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - you wrote:I have sorted all the stubs in Category:Saint Petersburg by marking them with {{SaintPetersburg-stub}}. You have doubted about their number, but there are 66 of them.

Well done. But it wasn't so much that I doubted there were 60 - it's just that stub-sorting guidelines say that there should be 60 before a category is made. All you needed to do was say "yes, there are definitely 60", and I'd have happily supported the stub type. Hence my comment of "Tentative support, with a proviso on the number of stubs there are". Grutness...wha? 04:58, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Geevee, thank you for uploading your wonderful pic in the article about Sergey Kirov, very nice job! (Limonlimone 01:33, 8 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Deja VROOOM.JPG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Deja VROOOM.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NMajdantalk 14:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong with it? Geevee (talk) 19:19, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You did not provide any fair use rationale, which goes beyond just sticking the {{albumcover}} template on the image. At the bottom of the template you'll see it says: "To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information." As you can see, now in addition to adding the correct template to a fair use image, you must provide more detailed fair use rationale. If you follow the link in that message, it will give you more information on what all that entails. Let me know if you have any other questions.--NMajdantalk 19:29, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Should I just add that stereotyped text ("== Fair use for [[ARTICLE NAME]] == ...") at the image page? Geevee (talk) 19:48, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Along with the rational below the section heading. Luckily for you, the example page gives a pretty good example of how to provide fair use rationale for album covers. However there is different rationale if you uploaded something else, like a historic photo or logo or other fair use image.--NMajdantalk 13:38, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Boris Galerkin

I noticed you deleted the link to St.Petersburg metro stations. You did this without even an edit summary. I was inclined to revert your edit on the basis that it was not substantiated, but I'm sure you can provide a valid explanation to why you think this is an improvement to the article? Bfg 11:40, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I can. There is context of Udelnaya railway station. Railway station, not metro. Therefore, it is no relation to Saint Petersburg Metro article.
The reader, who would follow that link would wish to know something about Udelnaya railway station (that's why he would click), wouldn't find any relevant information in the article about Saint Petersburg Metro, that's why that link was useless and unnecessary. It will be more useful to put link to non-existent article about Udelnaya railway station, won't it?
I am sorry that I didn't try to explain it in edit summary, I should. Geevee (talk) 13:45, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, all I needed. It seemed a bit too odd to be a case of vandalism. Bfg 16:49, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shine on You crazy Diamond

I'm not doubting you about the invalidity of my edit as such, but am curious nonetheless as to why those letters should not be put in lower-case. Would my version be incorrect, or is there some wiki policy that prevents me from doing that?--Boris Allen 14:07, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This title, as any another title of song, book, album, movie, etc. should be written in title case, without exceptions. I can't give you exact quotation from Wikipedia guideline (something about it is in WP:MOSCL), but it could be assumed from large amount of articles.
You can read about the rules of title case there (they are easy to understand and remember): [1]
You put "on" and "crazy" words into lower-case just to emphasize the relation of title to Syd Barrett, but it is really needed. This relation is mentioned in the article, and it is quite enough. Geevee (talk) 17:29, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:IDEA-logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:IDEA-logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sinphonia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable group with no charting records and no reliable sources to verify the article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fair use rationale for File:Jesus Christ Superstar Soundtrack.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Jesus Christ Superstar Soundtrack.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
