Hi Ganeshk. I'm afraid I messed up Template:Taxonomy/Vetigastropoda while trying to change the automatic taxobox of Circlotoma. This genus has moved to another family in another superfamily. Can you undo my changes to the template and put the taxobox of Circlotoma in order ? The taxobox should read as follows: Gastropoda (Class) > Caenogastropoda (Subclass) > Littorinimorpha (Order) > Truncatelloidea (Superfamily) > Tornidae (Family). And while you're at it, can you also make the stubs for the missing articles in this genus ? Thanks. JoJan (talk) 15:58, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Hi JoJan, To fix Circlotoma the way you want it, we will have to make Caenogastropoda the parent of Littorinimorpha instead of Hypsogastropoda. Is that correct? — Ganeshk (talk)03:48, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
I don't know why you have to skip one clade, but essentially it still remains correct. The template of Circlotoma now states Cyclostrematidae as parent instead of Tornidae. JoJan (talk) 07:58, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
Continued work on validation and handling of partially invalid data
Breaking change for 'wbeditentity' in the API fixing (bugzilla:49526) - when creating new items the 'new' parameter must now be given
Improved handling of broken UTF-8 encoding
Made it possible to enter the direction in a geocoordinate also at the beginning now (for example 52°31′N 13°23′E can soon also be entered as N 52°31′ E 13°23′)
Introduced PropertyInfoStore for quick access to meta-info about properties
Deserialization of Description objects in Ask

Hi Ganesh, I have modified the article Thalassery biryani as guided by you, to improve its quality. Please have a look at it. Also I need your help. The article got a disambiguation tag which I resolved but
A link reverting back issue could not be resolved. Do you have any way in which this can be resolved? There is another link named Thalassery biriyani for Thalassery biryani, this could be mainly because of the pronunciation differences of different people.
So please help if possible. Thanks and Regards--Sunaina Kunju (talk) 12:04, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
Wikidata weekly summary #70
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Wikimania continues! If you are around make sure you come and say Hi!
Wikidata meetup in the chapters village on Saturday at 1 PM at Wikimania.
Other Noteworthy Stuff
Following numerous discussions we are happy to present the new version of the proposal that would lead to Wikidata supporting structured data for the Wiktionaries.
There are now only an estimated 1,000,000 articles remaining with inter language links, down from the previous 26,000,000!
Frequently used for cities and other places, P17 ("country") indicates the sovereign state an item relates to. There now at least 100 items for most present day sovereign states. Leading is China (Q148) with 607,817 items, followed by Iran (!794) with 105,875 items and the United States of America (Q30) with 99,243 items. China rose from just 5266 items a month ago.
Development
Changeops implemented for all Api modules
All Api modules now have better auto comments and custom summaries
To support the inclusion of geographical coordinates in Wikidata, just about two months a new data type came available and d:Property:P625 "coordinate location" was created. Already 565,000 pairs of coordinates are now available on WikiData. Compare this to 870,000 coordinates on English Wikipedia or 1,500,000 items with d:Property:P17 "country", likely to have coordinates. Have a look at them on a map.

Newest properties: approved by (P790), ISIL ID (P791), chapter (P792), Key event (P793), as (P794), distance along (P795), geo datum (P796), executing authority (P797), mission design series designation (P798), air ministry specification (P799), work (P800), notable work (P801), student (P802), professorship (P803), GNIS Antarctica ID (P804), subject of (P805). Italian cadastre code (P806) In Addition new properties to describe mushrooms were created: hymenium type (P783), mushroom cap shape (P784), hymenium attachment (P785), stipe character (P786), spore print color (P787), mushroom ecological type (P789), edibility (P789). These will allow to build the data for a mushroom infobox (as w:Template:Mycomorphbox).
Check if some of the items on this and this list can be merged. But be careful to only merge if they are really about the same topic! Help about merging is at d:Help:Merge.
Update, expand and translate d:Wikidata:Introduction to make it easier for newcomers to understand what Wikidata is all about.
Hi, Ganesh. I'm starting to work on the family Liotiidae and I see that there is a lot of work to do for the Ganeshbot. A number of genera and a lot of species have no articles yet. The Template:Taxonomy/Circumstella and the Template:Taxonomy/Cyclostrema have to be changed to come in accordance with the family Liotiidae. The Template:Taxonomy/Cyclostrematidae has to be changed in Template:Taxonomy/Liotiidae as Cyclostrematidae has become a synonym of Liotiidae. I have made some changes to these templates, but I can't make them right somehow. If there are some points in the taxonomy you don't understand, please contact me. There is some urgency. Thanks. Wikidata weekly summary #72
Here's your quick overview of what has been happening around Wikidata over the last week.
Wikivoyage is still scheduled to get access to data on Wikidata (aka phase 2) on August 26.
Developers are working hard to also make the URL datatype available by August 26 but there are factors that are not in their hands so it might have to be delayed until the next deployment in 2 weeks. URL as a datatype will soon be available on test.wikidata.org. Please give it some thorough testing and report bugs.
Newest properties: separated from (P807), code Bien de Interés Cultural (P808), WPDA id (P809), academic minor (P811), academic major (P812), date retrieved (P813), IUCN protected areas category (P814), ITIS TSN (P815), decays to (P816), decay mode (P817)
Development
Prepared deployment of phase 2 on Wikivoyage
Worked on ability to sort qualifiers and references inside a statement
Started work on an api module to merge items
Worked on special page to query for items with one specific property and value
Cleaned up code for handling recent change entries from Wikidata in the clients (Wikipedia/Wikivoyage)
Worked on generic script for populating sites table and better integration with WMF process for creating new wikis
Setup new git repo for WikibaseMobile skin and extension
Fixed SetClaim api module to properly mark bot edits in recent changes and advised pywikipedia maintainers about adding support for the module. SetClaim can be used to create claims with references in a single edit.
Hi @Titodutta:, have you tried the new Notifications? It is the easier way to notify others about a discussion on any page. I just pinged you to this discussion using {{reply to}}. If you still see a need for those (ugly :) talk back templates, I don't mind you adding them back to WT:INB. Thanks for asking. — Ganeshk (talk)11:32, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, I'll add back the code. That is more Indianized and more personalized. For example, see the code and look:
Hello Ganeshk, as (most probably) I have done and doing some works related WikiProject India in recent few months, recently after starting few esays, I thought to create Wikipedia:WikiProject India/What's New. Since you have been editing for a long time here. Can you please check and/or add other recent WikiProject India related works? (specially of last 1 year)? (Note: I have not mentioned any editor's name there, like "This essay was started by User:A, it is WikiProject India work, that's all"). You can check and assess the very recent works too (from June onwards)--Tito☸Dutta23:33, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi @Titodutta:, it looks good. Sorry, I have not been following India project happenings that closely to add something to the page. AshLin would be right contact for that. — Ganeshk (talk)00:00, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
I added the date and location to the WP:WLL page. I figured that could be useful for anyone seeking an event, even if we don't send specific invitations until closer to the time. LadyofShalott15:17, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
1) Can you change the template of the genus and the species in Discreliotia, because they now belong in the family Tornidae instead of Liotiidae.
Done
2) The template of Tornidae is no longer exact. It should read : Gastropoda -> Caenogastropoda -> Littorinimorpha -> Truncatelloidea - > Tornidae. I suppose this will have an implication on the existing templates of all the genera and species in Tornidae. At the same time, could you also fill in the missing articles in Tornidae. This is just too much to do manually. Thanks. JoJan (talk) 15:19, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
@JoJan: Done. I have created the templates for the family and the genera. My PC is down due to a bad storage drive. It will be some time before I can run the bot again. — Ganeshk (talk)01:11, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
I'm trying to create some pages on the Romanian Wiktionary using AWB and CSVLoader. I've tried to follow the your walkthrough for creating new pages, and I've used actually the same CSV and settings (just changed the user in the CSV). The list is loaded successfully, but no content is generated on the pages when I click Start - there is no text in the Edit box, and pages are not saved because there is no change.
Can you take a look? Maybe I'm missing a setting. The CSV and AVB settings you can download from here: http://www.fileshare.ro/e29891287
Hi @Phaneb: I used your settings file and input file to create User:Ganeshk/sandbox/ro/Chilakaluripet. It worked fine. Can you post step by step screenshots (upload to Commons) on what you were doing? That will help me troubleshoot the problem. Also, please give me AWB access on Romanian wiktionary. — Ganeshk (talk)16:18, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I have created a Word document with the steps and screenshots, that you can download from here: http://www.fileshare.ro/e29895257
I can't give you AWB access on the Romanian wiktionary as I'm not an administrator - I'm just a regular user with AWB access (maybe that is the issue). I can ask the administrators to give you access if you need.
Hi Ganesh. I see that your computer is up and running again. Could you take a look at Vetigastropoda (unassigned) and change the templates for the families, genera and species from Vetigastropoda --> Vetigastropoda (unassigned) ? If necessary, make new templates for the genera and species.
At the moment, I'm working on Skeneidae, a family recently promoted from the rank of subfamily Skeneinae. All templates in this family need upgrading to Skeneidae. Perhaps you can also make new templates for the existing genera and the species, as there are many.
There is no rush, as I'm leaving on a trip abroad in a couple of days and will be available again after 13 October. Thanks. JoJan (talk) 15:24, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi Ganesh, I've been trying to create articles on Hindi Wikipedia by using AWB with CSVLoader, but due to some reason it's not working there. It gives a view but skip to next article in list without creating any article. I'd really appreciate your help. — Bill william comptonTalk15:13, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
@Bill william compton:Can you copy paste the content both the files on Wikipedia pages (sandbox under your user page)? The Speedy is looking for me to download an EXE app. As for the input file, I was not able to extract the Hindi text from the pdf file. — Ganeshk (talk)00:51, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
@Bill william compton: Sorry for the delay in getting this resolved. I am having trouble displaying Hindi characters on CSVLoader/Notepad in my Windows XP. The chacters display as squares. Do you have any ideas? — Ganeshk (talk)16:04, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi Ganesh. I think I have botched up some templates. It concerns the Template:Taxonomy/Skeneidae which I tried to derive from Template:Taxonomy/Turbinidae (both are in the same superfamily Trochoidea), but somehow, an article such as Liocarinia disjuncta doesn't show the family Skeneidae in the Speciesbox. And I'm afraid all other Speciesboxes in Skeneidae show the family Skeneidae but may actually be linked to the template for Turbinidae. Can you help me out of this mess and can you make the templates for the genera in Skeneidae ? Thanks. JoJan (talk) 08:04, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
The family Skeneidae is a polyphyletic assemblage (in other words: a mess) and will probably be split up into other families in the coming years. Therefore it is important that all the genera and species should have their own automatic taxobox, otherwise the manual work involved would be enormous (about 2,000 species). I tried to create the missing templates, starting from the template for Turbinidae as an example to work further on, but, as I said, I made a mess of it. I still don't understand this process very well. Can you look at the missing articles for species and genera in Skeneidae and create them ? JoJan (talk) 12:38, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Collumn header separator is comma, in AWB skip option is settled if page exist. I dont understand why it doesn't work. :(
--XXN (talk) 23:57, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Maybe problem is in that i don't have the bot flag? If i CSV don't work without bot flag please remove this thing: it's my problem if i will be banned, but before of all i must test the bot (50 test articles created), and with this problem i can't do this. XXN (talk) 13:09, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I wanted to let you know I left a question about CSVLoader on its talk page. Specifically about the auto-capitalization of target article names, perhaps you could make the earlier version (1.0.0.14. I think) available for download? Neitrāls vārds (talk) 21:47, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
Hello Ganeshk ! On the same subjet, I'd like to know if you plan to fix the problem with CSVLoader. This plugin looks great for what I need to do on 36,600 articles on French Wikipedia and I am a little disappointed not to be able to use it. Thank you by advance. — S t a r u s – ¡Dímelo!– 21:28, 12 April 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Starus (talk • contribs)
Hi Ganeshk. I've been trying to create new pages, but my attempts don't appear in the Edit box (bottom right window). My old settings / databases work fine. Is there a glitch, or is it me? Tried in both Excel (csv) and Open Calc (csv file); and on both accounts, some fields appear in the edit box and some don't. Has it anything to do with Reg Ex having been turned on, or could it be a Module? It may, of course be AWB! Many thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 19:02, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi @Llywelyn2000:, I just tested. Works fine for me. I am able to see the changes on the edit box. You can try downloading the latest versions of both AWB and the plugin. If it does not work, post some sample data for me. — Ganeshk (talk)03:06, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi @Llywelyn2000:, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that someone actually uses my WoRMS plugin. :) I have fixed the issues with saving the settings and released a new version. Please download the new version of the WoRMS plugin and let me know if the problems persist with the CSVLoader. Thanks. — Ganeshk (talk)01:55, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
I'd like to invite you to add an Atlanta event for the Great American Wiknic. This year we're aiming to coalesce nationally around July 6, but any date that is convenient to your local community works as well. And don't be shy about putting something preliminary on the national Wiknic page, it all helps!--Pharos (talk) 19:51, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Dear Ganesh, Great Remover of Obstacles. Sometime within the last two or three months I had a conversation on someone's talk page who had contacted me because I had edited a lot of articles about California beaches. That editor had encouraged me to look out for new images and sometimes new articles about beaches, mostly in California and elsewhere on the West Coast which include an image of a beach (often with a cloudy sky) with a man posed with his back to the camera in a certain way. The uploader is a person who (over time) using multiple accounts to upload numerous different images like this -- it is all part of a so-called "art project" which he actually described on a/his web page. To me this is vandalism. I found a new one today but now, for the life of me, I cannot remember where to find the discussion we had about this. Do you have any idea how I could find this again? Invertzoo (talk) 01:15, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Yup, i have all the infoI need now Ganesh, so please ignore this whole post. Hope everything is good with you. Invertzoo (talk) 14:36, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello Ganesh, I wonder if you have any suggestions about this problem. Just in the last couple of days, every single time I try to get onto Wikipedia I have to log in again and even chose a new password. I have not done anything that would erase all my cookies. Cookies are working on other sites, so I don't know why the problem is only on here, and on Wikimedia Commons. Any ideas what is going on and how I should fix it? Many thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 13:05, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
This morning the login problem solved itself for a while, but now it is back again, every time I go onto either Wikipedia or Commons, it's very annoying. Any suggestions? Thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 23:13, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi @Invertzoo:, this looks like a MediaWiki issue than a cookie issue. Not sure what the problem is. I have not looked, but there should be a page to report technical issues. I would suggest trying different browsers to see if problem the persists. — Ganeshk (talk)14:27, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks Ganesh. Right now it is good again, but I don't know if it will stay that way. If it goes on the blink again I will try Firefox. Thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 18:16, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
