Barak valley

The pre independence history of Bengalis in Barak Valley region of Assam is ignored and sometimes deliberately deleted even in Wikipedia, even though famous personalities of Barak valley Like Santosh Mohan Dev, Syed Mujtaba Ali, Arun Kumar Chanda, Maulana Abdul Matlib Mazumdar all were born in Barak valley in the pre independence period. Instead the migration of Bengali Hindu refugees into Barak valley is published, which exposes us to Discrimination and Persecution.

Please publish some information on the pre independence history of Bengali people of Barak valley. Here are some sources:

The Sylheti ( Bengali) Mirashdars played an important role in the history of Barak valley. Just mentioning refugees without mentioning the pre independence history of Sylheti people in Barak valley in unfair. Even today the Bengali hindus of Barak valley , especially those having origins in pre colonial times worship Goddess Kachakanti ( known as Kechaikhaiti in Upper Assam) like their Barman Kachari neighbours. Some Sylheti ( Bengali) people both Hindus and Muslims used surnames given to them Dimasa Kachari kings in accordance to their post in the Mirashdari System. Some examples are Choudhary, Mazumdar, Deshmukhya, Barbhuiya, Mazarbhuiya, Laskar, Barlaskar and Sodial. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 09:11, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Many Bengalis from Sylhet region migrated to the Cachar - Hailakandi region back when it was a part of Dimasa Kachari Kingdom ( 1745 - 1832 ) . The Bengalis worked as Soldiers, Labourers, Revenue administrators, agricultural labourers etc. The Bengali Brahmins who performaned the marriage ceremony between Prince Lakshminarayan Chandra Hasnu and Princess Kanchani ( daughter of Bhim Singha, the last Koch Rajbongshi king of Khaspur) we're given land grants by Maharaja Harishchandra Narayan Hasnu of the Dimasa Kachari kingdom.
