On the skull of ArchaeopteryxHi "FunkMonk". I have seen you deleted my diagram of the skull of Archaeopteryx from the Archaeopteryx article on 11/1, and want to discuss this with you: First of all, the teeth. They are based on this skull, in which I think the teeth looks "relatively" large. Second, the skull of Archaeopteryx: I thougth they were very well preserved in the Berlin specimen and Eichstätt specimen? Also, the shape and arrangement of the bones in the skull are based on a picture from The Princeton Fieldguide to Dinosaurs by Gregory Scott Paul. Isn't he a trustworthy scientist (at least when it comes to dinosaurs and mesozoic birds)? I'd be interested in your comments on the images here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Medeis#Animal which I am gathering to create a better collage for the article Animal. The current image for the article has two mammals yet no invertebrates besides a mollusc and two arthropods. I would be especially interested in your suggestion as to which vertebrates of the ones I have assembled to pick, and which bird, if any. Or to know if you suggest any other images. μηδείς (talk) 16:34, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Ceratopsian handsHi, I was glad to see you updating the ceratopsian images that I removed a few months earlier for the inaccurate hands! I've been rereading Fujiwara's Triceratops paper, and it turns out that another issue with most of them is that the fourth and fifth fingers shouldn't be touching the ground (as in the updated Triceratops image or Tamura's newer ceratopsians). Incidentally, the Montanoceratops image is still inaccurate in that the nose horn has since been found to be a misplaced cheek horn. Also, I'm thinking that the ankylosaur hands might need to be even more sauropod like, per Senter's 2010 paper. Albertonykus (talk) 12:40, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Raptor Red's edits are original research and speculation made in order to imply that the Walking With series is factual correct under all circumstances. He also does not reference his edits, beyond mentioning that "it's true," or that it's said so in the book, or claiming that it "isn't original research," or referring to some dubious source like another wikia or the talkforum of a defunct fanpage. Cheers and best wishes, John Hill (talk) 07:55, 2 May 2011 (UTC) question about imagesThe file I uploaded at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Giant_ant_fossil.jpg is now up for deletion. You had a tag saying it was moved to wikicommons, but the link you had there was a dead end. Was it moved over and named something else? All the articles about this new discovery have two pictures of a hummingbird next to the ant fossil. You uploaded the other one to wikicommon and then linked to it from the article I created, replacing my original image. Titanomyrma I think my image is better, since the hummingbird is more colorful. I've been working hard to get John Day Fossil Beds National Monument up to FA status. It's recently been through a complex peer review, and I'm planning on nominating the article at FAC late next week. The image that you added today sandwiches text between two images, which the Manual of Style advises against. WP:MOSIM says in part, "Avoid sandwiching text between two images that face each other, or between an image and an infobox." In addition, the image is low-res, whereas I've been adding high-res images throughout the article. Readers can get a fair idea of what some of these critters looked like by clicking through to articles about them. I'm writing to you rather than simply reverting, because I don't want you to think I'm hostile or thoughtless. I recently reverted a similar image you added to Petrified Forest National Park on the same grounds, but I only explained my reasoning in my edit summary. Do you mind if I remove the extinct fossil image? Finetooth (talk) 01:23, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

HelloPlease engage into conversation on Talk:Lebanon War before you revert me once again. I hope you are also aware of the 3RR.Greyshark09 (talk) 21:21, 22 September 2011 (UTC) List of extinct genera in Jurassic ParkHey, I thought I should explain why I decided to change the format of the List of extinct genera in Jurassic Park page. First of all, when I first stumbled onto the page, I found it extremely awkward because the explanation part of the table was not only far to the right, but squeezed into a small box. Second, you explained that you reverted because the previous style "show clearly show which film each genus appears in", but I disagree. When I first was reading through the article, I found that when I was halfway down the page, all I saw was a bunch of X's and checks. It didn't really help me see which one each dinosaur is in. Additionally, although this is a list-style article, it doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be represented via table (See List of Scream characters, a GA nominee that has a different approach to addressing objects over several different movies) I was trying to find a style that solved these problems. If you have another idea, let me know, but I think it needs to be be changed somehow, if not that particular way, to address these issues. Sesamehoneytart 15:56, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I really think the infobox for example on pages such as the Lebanese people, provides a wide variety of the Lebanese as a whole, that is what I'm attempting to convey as well on the Palestinian page, with more notable people one can get a better picture of who Palestinians are as a whole, as well as see a variety of appearances within the country, it gives a better representative of the population. With only a few people in the infobox it also appears to give an illusion that there are very few notable people as a whole as to fill the box. I was wondering if you could fix the images into a collage like you did with the first set, I attempted and it didn't come out very well so I thought I'd ask you, you seem to be pretty good at this. :) Lazyfoxx (talk) 05:45, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

ScipionyxHallo, FunkMonk! As you have noticed, I'm expanding the Scipionyx article. Earlier, on the Dutch Wikipedia I wrote a very long article, with the embarrassing result I ran out of images. Obviously we do have a few excellent pictures, in high resolution, of the one known fossil but we are still lacking some close-ups: one of the dentition, which could be obtained from File:9120 - Milano, Museo storia naturale - Scipionyx samniticus - Foto Giovanni Dall'Orto 22-Apr-2007.jpg, and one of the digestive tract from the elbows down to and including the tail base (the track extends far beyond the pelvis centre), for which File:9121 - Milano, Museo storia naturale - Scipionyx samniticus - Foto Giovanni Dall'Orto 22-Apr-2007a.jpg could be used. I'd do it myself if I weren't a total twit in these things, the latter sad fact making me wonder whether you could find the time to help me out. Again. On a related issue, I noticed that this interesting article: Frey, E. & Tischlinger, H., 2012, The Late Jurassic Pterosaur Rhamphorhynchus, a Frequent Victim of the Ganoid Fish Aspidorhynchus? PLoS ONE 7(3): e31945. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0031945, has some very nice and basically copyright-free images. Just a hint ;o). Greetings, --MWAK (talk) 14:28, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Aurochs imgHi Funkmonk! What do you think of the last version of the aurochs morphology img? http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Aurochs-morphology1,1.png Greetings! --Aurochs1 (talk) 20:32, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
The article Lebanese nationality law needs more reliable and up-to-date information. If you are interested you can contribute to it. Thanks in advance. But if the other image was unspecified, it is better that it went - though it is unfortunate that the only Peripatus image we have is so mediocre! PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 22:39, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Merge, not purgeFunkMonk, although you were right that a synonym of Tanystropheus does not merit its own page, your solution was a little crude. By simply blanking out the content of Procerosaurus and replacing it with a redirect, you lost some useful information that could be added to the target page. The correct procedure is a merge. See Help:Merging for how to do this. You can also look at my recent edits of the two articles and their talk pages. RockMagnetist (talk) 04:17, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
