Hi, can you please think once again about this cause I really think this is an irrelevant topic. As, kindly check that there are lack of evidences. How can only a particular thing said by a particular person which lead to rumours and is not even known that these assaults were real or not, be in the page? Since, these particular things were not asked by that person to Birju Maharaj when Maharaj was alive, and were henceforth not given any chance for proper validation, then how can that topic be here in this page? No Government Issues or Cases are also there against Birju Maharaj. Where is the evidence that this person is not making up things or trying to defame Maharaj, as all these are done after Birju Maharaj's death and not when he was alive!

Hello, Frost,

I saw your RFA after seeing you request its restoration at REFUND. I have a couple of unasked-for comments. I think it would really help your situation if you had an experienced editor as a co-nominator. It just shows other editors that you already have some support rather than being a simple self-nomination. You might check out Wikipedia:Request an RfA nomination.

Also, question 3 is often misunderstood by nominees and they mistakenly try to say that they have never been in conflict with other editors. On a collaborative project like Wikipedia, it's impossible to never be in a dispute with another editor unless you work in some very small niche that no one else works in. But as an admin, you deal with conflict ALL.THE.TIME so it is much better to give an example of a dispute you were involved in and how it was resolved, peacefully. If you are successful in an RFA and become an admin, you will be in many disputes and it's better to show that you can handle it appropriately and to try to deny that it's ever happened to you.

You could first do Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Optional RfA candidate poll to get feedback and you might also look into Wikipedia:Administrator elections. It's a very new system but who knows, maybe it will work for you. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 00:42, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate this a lot, @Liz. Advice is always welcome. My candidacy is indeed going through the new administrator elections process and not the requests for adminship (RfA). Honestly, I didn't think I'd be able to find a nominator due to my lack of GAs and consistent activity over 12-24 consecutive months, which appear to be the strong points of many successful RfA candidates. Despite this, I opted to go ahead with the election because I thought maybe I might have a chance based on my other qualities. I understand your point regarding question 3 about handling disputes, my answer to it may be too literal and I will try to expand on it soon (if it's still allowed after the nomination period ends later today). I contemplated asking for feedback at the RfA poll in the last few days but opted not to after reading through the current and past polls (and due to a little bit of agoraphobia). Since the whole premise of Jenny Everywhere is that the character is open source and available to all, this seems like an acceptable exception as it's a prime example of how the character is used by multiple different creators in an open source environment. Thank you for choosing to run in the October 2024 administrator elections. This bulletin contains some important information about the next stages of the election process.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • October 15–21: SecurePoll setup phase
  • October 22–24: Discussion phase
  • October 25–31: SecurePoll voting phase
  • November 1–?: Scrutineering phase

We are currently in the SecurePoll setup phase. Your candidate subpage will remain closed to questions and discussion. However, this is an excellent opportunity for you to recruit nominators (if you want them) and have them place their nomination statements, and a good time for you to answer the standard three questions, if you have not done so already. We recommend you spend the SecurePoll setup phase from October 15–21 getting your candidate page polished and ready for the next phase.

The discussion phase will take place from October 22–24. Your candidate subpage will open to the public and they will be permitted to discuss you and ask you formal questions, in the same style as a request for adminship (RfA). Please make sure you are around on those dates to answer the formal questions in a timely manner.

On October 25, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. Anyone can see who has voted, but not who they voted for. You are permitted and encouraged to vote in the election, including voting for yourself. Please note that the vote tallies cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see your tally during the election. The suffrage requirements are different from those at RfA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for an indeterminate amount of time, perhaps a week or two. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, you must have received at least 70% support, calculated as support ÷ (support + oppose). As this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("'crat chats").

Hello, @Ghulamwork4. There are two issues with your edit: the link and the name. External links are not normally added to disambiguation pages and the link you added is nothing more than the base URL of a website, suggesting it isn't relevant to the topic and might be promotional, which isn't appropriate for Wikipedia. To add an entry in a disambiguation page, it should link to at least one article, and it shouldn't be worded promotionally like "SEO expert", except when supported by reliable sources. The primary redirect to the blood group should be O-negative, which I have created. If and when the article about the Thai film is created, it should probably be titled O-Negative, with a hatnote pointing to the blood group per WP:DIFFCAPS. Stop reverting edits that are just kind of unusually-phrased on the 2024 Community Response to ANIvsWMF

Emotions are running high in the community, but this is unacceptable behavior on Wikipedia. I will report this to WP:ANI if you continue.

I once got in trouble for something similar, and said I would not do it again. My personal code means that I must thus intervene when I see it occurring in other cases. I don't know who IP editor Chloe is but you cannot silence voices at your whim. Even if Chloe posted it in role-playing/prose format with which you may be unfamiliar, the actual message regarding Wikipedian politics is very clear and cannot be removed without good reason. That page is the place for voicing the opinions of the community and determining consensus response, and the community includes IP editors and people who type in unusual ways.

At best, this is a mistake in which you presumed vandalism or trolling. Please familiarize yourself with the definitions of such before you take action interfering with an active discussion. At worst, it is discrimination against the neurodivergent, or just those who like to add a little spice to their posts.

I will assume good faith (that you made a mistake, especially with the Twinkle tag - I know how hair-trigger Twinkle users can be), but you must note that you are engaging in disruptive editing.

If I were citing a video of an interview, is that still considered unreliable due to it coming from YouTube or is it acceptable. I had a hard time understanding if that met the guidelines or not. I would be using the video as a source for Damien's claim on his autism diagnosis. It can be used to verify birthdate/birthplace. See WP:DOB ("A verified social media account of an article subject saying about themselves something along the lines of "today is my 50th birthday" may fall under self-published sources for purposes of reporting a full date of birth. It may be usable if there is no reason to doubt it.") and WP:ABOUTSELF ("Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves, usually in articles about themselves or their activities"). The problem is that your draft's subject is a living person, i.e., WP:BLP applies. A subject claiming that his birthday is day x may be acceptable per WP:ABOUTSELF, but a person diagnosing himself with a psychiatric disability in a YouTube video does not at all get near the realm of a reliable, secondary source. I said these sources can be used for verification only if the relevant policies/guidelines are complied with, and they do not contribute to establishing notability, which is required for an article to be accepted on Wikipedia. Citing the YouTube video for "Haas has been diagnosed with autism" is inappropriate because that's his opinion and it cannot be phrased as a fact. Such statements have to cite high-quality sources. Just for a little help in the future, could you give examples of high quality sources concerning diagnoses of living persons that I can look out for? If you don't know any that's fine. Also, I noticed a different source cited concerning an ADHD diagnosis before I started editing. I deleted it because I didn't want to risk it being unreliable since I couldn't find any mentions in the reliable source noticeboard archives concerning the site's validity against WP:BLP (ironic, isn't it). There's a list of sources on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources, the ones in green are acceptable as reliable sources and can be used for BLPs unless otherwise noted. I'm not familiar with Bleeding Cool but it could be reliable as it's listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/References and Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources.
