Deletion of Taburu Tuilagi

I spent a lot of time on my project on rugby coach Taburu and I was not pleased when it was deleted as it was a 'blatant hoax'. Taburu is a widely known coach with Saints and as a Saints fan myself, I can tell you he is a real person, despite what you think! Could you please re-instate the page? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omgainsley (talkcontribs) 11:26, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

I don't really care that you were not pleased. To quote from the article: He is famous for his emotion and his banter. His efforts were rewarded in late 2014 when Taburu was given 'demi-god' status in the inner circle. Morgan Freeman was pleased to reward Taburu of his progress and fellow inner circle member Agatha Christie stated that Taburu was true pleasure to work with. It is highly unlikely that a rugby player born on the year you claim and with the credentials you concocted in that article would not have a single existing Google search result. Please contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, or just go away. The last thing we need around here is another hoax, especially one that involves the Tuilagi family. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:35, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of C.Niek van dijk

Dear free range frog, Could you please tell me why the page I created for prof. dr. C. Niek van Dijk was deleted? I'm a doctor at the Academical medical centre in Amsterdam and put a lot of effort in writing this page. Prof. dr. C. Niek van Dijk is a well renowned orthopeadic surgeon, known all over the world for his advancements in minimal invasive foot and ankle surgery. Everything I wrote is true. Could you please inform me how I can make a page for him without someone deleting it? thanks in advance. Rmgerards (talk) 09:07, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

I have no idea if the subject is notable (he would have to meet either WP:BIO or WP:PROF) but the reason it was deleted was the overall tone of the article, which was written as if you had been creating a fan page for the man. More importantly, it was largely unsourced. How about you start over, submit a draft for review, since you seem to have a conflict of interest anyway. Just make sure he meets those notability guidelines to begin with. Wikipedia doesn't care about "truth" so much as what can be verified through coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:40, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of SALVA DE LA CRUZ.

This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference. 08:34, 20 February 2015 FreeRangeFrog (talk | contribs) deleted page Salva de la Cruz Pastor (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Salva de la Cruz Pastor) Hi i want to know the reason of being deleted that page, I don´t know so much about wiki pages, english, but I want this page to be online, because Salva is a footballer ( now he is playing in the oxford city team) and as the same as Vicente Guaita Panadero ( a football mate from valencia´s team) has wiki in English, he has to have it too. Please, correct the article, do all the changes necesaary (you that know how to make them) and put it again online, because on his offcial site is a link of that page ( www.salvadelacruz.com) in other links and when people ticks on " the free enciclopledia" it´s ugly that appears that the page has been deleted. I trust on your correction and in doing that site online soon. Thanks Salva de la Cruz — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.235.183.105 (talk) 12:55, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

There was a deletion discussion, and consensus that the subject does not meet the inclusion guidelines. If something has significantly changed between my close of the deletion and now, you may request a review here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:04, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

Clarification

Hi frog!

How are you doing today? I need a clarification on autopatrol user right permission. Am aware that the tool is usually granted to experienced and prolific article creators to reduce the workload of NPP and that a suggested standard to grant this right is the prior creation of 50 valid articles, not including redirects and disambiguation pages. However can the flag be granted to

@Wikicology: When the preferred requirements are not met, it's up to the administrator's discretion. Are you planning on requesting the permission for yourself? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:23, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Many thanks my extraordinary frog! I already have the flag. I was granted few weeks ago, having created over 170 valid articles not including redirect and disambiguation pages. I really learn't a lot from you, you are indeed a role model. Thank for making me a more competent wikipedian. If there is anything you want me to know, please feel free to let me know. I will surely be glad to know it. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 20:41, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

User account without logs

Hi, someone posted a question about a deleted article on my talk page today (which is weird because I haven't done much for the last two days) and when I checked them out a bit I noticed:

  • Their talk page was never created even though whoever marked the page should probably have notified them of the speedy deletion
  • They have no contributions other than posting to my talk page (which I suppose is normal if they only thing they did was create a now deleted page)
  • They have no logs... this is the puzzling one, when I looked at their account creation log to see when it was made it was empty

I suppose the first two can be explained away but I have no idea how a user account could have no creation log. PhantomTech (talk) 17:53, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

@PhantomTech: That's because it's a SUL account created in Commons, not here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:26, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

The article is up for deletion, and as I said, that's where you should be arguing for deletion, not blanking the article or moving it. We don't straight up delete articles by request. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:51, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
I would agree with FreeRangeFrog. Taha, you need to understand that the AfD discussion is the only thing that you really need to focus on right now. Just randomly moving pages and blanking them is considered disruptive, and therefore cannot be tolerated. McDonald of Kindness (talk) 19:54, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

but the person(Ray Marcano) don't want his information on wiki.I see that you are admin of wiki,I think you have a rights to delete his page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tahafarooqui (talkcontribs) 20:05, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Please see WP:DEL for more information on how and why articles are deleted (or not) from Wikipedia. The wishes of the subject very rarely come into play, because people cannot prevent other people from writing about them. In the press or media or Wikipedia for that matter. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:08, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

I don't have any idea, really, how all of this works, so I tried to enlist some help in getting this article removed under the notability guidelines. But since I don't understand the process I'm at a loss on the proper way to make my case. I believe that should be the focus --- I simply don't meet the notability guidelines. Rmarcano (talk) 20:29, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

The process has started, the deletion discussion is linked from the article and its removal will depend on the outcome of the discussion, which will run for a minimum of 7 days. Your wishes to remove the article have been noted, and the criteria should be centered around notability, which is normal. However there is as I said no guarantee that the article will be deleted. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:34, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Edits

Hello, I am not sure why my comments about how to improve the Michael Berube page were removed. As the talk pages are a space where editors can discuss the improvements to a page, I guess that my comments were possibly entered in an inappropriate section. I made a new section, recommending that a the page have a criticism section. 68.40.88.219 (talk) 00:18, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

It doesn't matter who created it, it's deleted now. Please stop creating a new section on my talk page and repeating the same thing every time. Frankly I'm not sure how any of this is causing "harm" to your career. Salted lock on Alonda Shevette ?

I don't see the salted icon (light blue lock) on the page Alonda Shevette, only when I use the URL that would create the page when it isn't salted. What needs to be done to put the lock there?Naraht (talk) 15:20, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

The lock is a visual "feature" of a rendered page, a template. Since there is no page, it's still salted but there can't be a visible lock. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:22, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

I don't know if you remember this particular issue, but they're back. Same issue on some articles about their competitors[1][2]. Quite a game of wack-a-mole. CorporateM (Talk) 19:06, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Well, when I did some of my first COI edits 5+ years ago, I thought creating a Competitors section was a great way to create backlinks to my client's page. I thought they were acceptable, because I saw them on lots of other articles. I imagine one of the companies listed is looking for plugs. However, that's just my increasingly cynical attitude. Give me another couple years and I'll fit right in at Wikipediaocracy (yuck!) CorporateM (Talk) 20:40, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Paradiso LMS page deleted on March 15

Hi FreeRangerFrog,

I realized Paradiso LMS Wiki page ([[3]]) was deleted by you on March 15. This Paradiso LMS page was linking to LMS List (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_learning_management_systems).

I can see all the other LMS softwares in there active except Paradiso LMS so I was wondering what was wrong with the post? Looks like none of the other LMS´s listed in there were deleted. Let me know please if you have any info about this particular post and why it is deleted.

Thanks a lot,

Sigh. OK so regardless of whether you're logged in or not, Wikipedia is not the place to advertise your products. We are not a directory. The conflict of interest guidelines are clear - you or the editor you are paying should be going through Articles for Creation if you have a conflict of interest. So try that instead. It doesn't matter what else is in the LMS list either. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:09, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Article deleted

Hi, I realized you just deleted an article called "Draft: McInnes Cooper" it was on the works and we were gathering information to continue it, is there a way I can get it back? It would be inmensly usefull!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Namita.rajani (talkcontribs) 18:24, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

Not only was that written inappropriately for a Wikipedia article (..which allows it to lead work globally with the assistance of member law firms in several countries. Lex Mundi is the world leading network of independent law firms with in-depth experience in more than 100 countries worldwide), it was also a copyright violation from an external source. Beyond the first paragraph and a long list of "services" (which was also inappropriate) plus two rejections by reviewers, there's nothing particularly salvageable in the draft. You're welcome to start over if you wish. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:31, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

RW3 Page

Hi Froggy,

Please give me a recap on the RW3 page and it's deletion. I followed the same format as many technology providers on this website regarding list of services and features and made sure as to not spam/advertise. Working in the realm of the CPG industry we have been referenced as a top service provider and a leader in innovative mobile technology as referenced.

I felt that the information written by the third party kept to was written "in an objective and unbiased style, free of puffery."

Looking forward to your response and working on the updated version of the page.

Cheers,

we have been referenced as a top service provider You have a conflict of interest, so please follow the instructions here to create a draft for review. Your article was a brochure for your company, not an encyclopedia article. Before you proceed though, please make sure it meets the notability guidelines, or your draft will be rejected even if you manage to write it neutrally beyond a promotional-sounding unsourced list of products and offerings. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 02:51, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

While I'm less worried about appearing to edit by proxy (which really wouldn't be the case) I'd rather just let the {{cn}} there and wait for someone else to source the information. I'm really not familiar with the subject and I have no idea if that is a reliable source in this case. Osvaldo Mariscotti

Hello there, I'm writing regarding the deleted article "Osvaldo Mariscotti." The article got outdated shortly after being created, and certain contributors added content that could not be corroborated at the time. Almost a year after deletion, Mariscotti has made achieved some pretty notable milestones in his artistic career that deserve to be shared with the Wikipedia community. For that reason, I request permission to recreate the page for Osvaldo Mariscotti, including these numerous verifiable sources.

It was a "soft delete" so there's no need to request a deletion review, however given the fact that the article had copyright violation problems in the past and it was written in an inappropriate promotional tone, I'll ask you to start over and create a draft here, then have an unconnected editor approve it. Please make sure you go over the notability guidelines before you do, and make sure you can prove the subject is notable. Otherwise it will just be a waste of time. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:31, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Would you mind opining at Arbcom?

I haven't participated in BLPN recently, or much of Wikipedia in general, but I'm annoyed that editors have filed an arbitration request against Collect. That Arbcom has already screwed the pooch by accepting the request (and splitting it into 2 cases) is not surprising.

Like you, Collect knows the ins/outs of BLP editing better than most. My impression is that POV warriors want to rid Wikipedia of Collect because he uses BLP as a foil. Perhaps he is overzealous at times, but IMO he usually lands on the "correct" side of BLP application. If you wouldn't mind, could you review the "evidence" section and provide your opinion on the evidence talk page? Hope all is well. And grow wings or don't hop :) Two kinds of porkMakin'Bacon 03:32, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

The article contained a single claim of importance, which is charting on iTunes. Not only was it unsourced (probably because charting on iTunes is not inherently notable) but it's also not a credible claim. The rest of the article was written as a fansite, thus the G11. If you want to start over I'd recommend doing it through AFC instead. Just make sure they meet WP:BAND. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:46, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

A case of someone adding unsourced BLP's, but...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Itailevi907 This guy seems to have more of a poor level of the English language, I've put up wiki links to several of his pages and have added links from the Hebrew wikis-not sure what to tell him actually. Wgolf (talk) 18:00, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Warned them. Looks like a WP:CIR thing most likely. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:04, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

The people they are adding do seem notable I will admit, I am trying to help the best I can with these. Wgolf (talk) 18:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, but they have to pace themselves. Also, that something exists in the Hebrew project doesn't mean it's automatically accepted here for inclusion. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:07, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

He is still doing it-here are 2 articles I just put expand language tags on (I don't put BLP prods on those as they usually get reverted since there is another language.): Guy Zohar and Oshrat Kotler. (I do have to love is a tv wife-yes since you know that is something that automatically means you are notable lol) Wgolf (talk) 15:27, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

It doesn't matter if there's a Hebrew article about the person, no refs means BLPPROD. Also wow, looks like they created 7 more accounts.... §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:07, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
I added a reference to Oshrat Kotler and removed the unsourced flag. She is clearly notable. 7&6=thirteen () 17:11, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Well it has happened to be before multiple times where I'll get "don't you think the fact that it has a page in German (just a random language) with refs means this is not needed" (not the exact words but you get the point. Wgolf (talk) 17:20, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Nope, that's not acceptable. In that case, let them get a reference from that other language article and add it here. The onus is on the person attempting to remove the BLPPROD tag, not you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:24, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

My userpage

Thanks, Frog. It's the oddest thing, but when my userpage is edited, it doesn't appear on my watchlist. I've asked at the pump (where clearly the little compunerds simply didn't believe me), and I've tried unwatching and then re-watching the page, which does help, but only for a few hours. I suppose the next step would be to file a Bugzilla report, but I've kind of lost momentum. And when did a Bugzilla report actually get acted on? Never happened to me yet. My problems are probably too dull. Might as soon file with Bishzilla, shrug. But fortunately I've got helpful stalkers. Bishonen | talk 18:42, 8 April 2015 (UTC).

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing with mine. Also sometimes even with my talk page, I can see the notification but the change is not in the watchlist. Weird. Anyhoo, there's enough stalkers watching that so no biggies. Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things either §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:46, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

I have removed the PROD tag from Working_Fermentor_+_Freezer_combinations, which you proposed for deletion.

I expect the table on this page to grow to dozens of entries from other contributors. Perhaps it would assuage your concern if each row of the table included some form of attribution, so that all contributed data points are confirmed as real-world observations?

I don't consider this page to be a How-To guide, since the data is not instructional in nature but rather is informative. By way of example, take the list of Arduino-compatible boards. Such boards are 'open source hardware' in that the creation of a new variant is not governed by a standards board or industry convention; anybody can create a new board + shield combination and propose its relevant uses. Or perhaps consider a list of Cryptids, most of which are unconfirmed and unattributed observations (and / or hoaxes).

In the same way, a new working combination of [fermentor + cooling chamber] is not governed by an industry or society like IEEE, but it is nonetheless useful for the at-large community to be aware of observed instances.

If you still think the article should be deleted, please feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Danielbcook (talkcontribs) 21:07, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

I did. I don't think that's an encyclopedic topic, but we'll let other editors reach a consensus on that. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:30, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

I previous created a page for Venus Concept, mentioned in the Syneron page, and you deleted. I believe that now I created an article with enciclopedic content, very short by the way. After this one I have intention to create pages for all major aesthetics companies that produce medical devices.

@EstonianMan: The article was deleted because it did not make a basic assertion of importance. Beyond that, such a topic must also meet the notability guidelines, which are covered by WP:CORP. If you feel that's the case then consider creating a draft or using your sandbox to develop the article until it is not in danger of being speedily deleted. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:12, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

@Snowager: What's the difference between that and Draft:Kellie Madison? If nothing else we can delete the misplaced one as a duplicate. The reason you can't move it is because it already exists. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 01:01, 9 April 2015

Hello

I found out about the page yesterday via his ask.fm link and realized what utter bs this guy was writing. I researched him carefully, and edited the page accordingly. Just came back home to see it restored back but thanks for blocking both his PR guys.

EDIT 1: Two new accounts, mainly KumarAnimesh123 and Pronks123 or whatever are now reverting back my changes. This guy deactivated his ask.fm account after a article is written on him revealing the truth but his influential parents are taking personal action on it. can we protect a page from fake entries? And what can we do to do something about it offline too? The article is fine the way it is now. The promotional language is gone, and the POV tag you placed was inappropriate because you didn't start a discussion about what the dispute was exactly. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 03:58, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

jelly belly page

Removing Herman Rowland, Sr. from the development of the Jelly Belly® jelly bean is factually incorrect. As the archivist (historian) for the Jelly Belly Candy Company I monitor the factual information for the jelly belly wiki page. The development of the Jelly Belly® jelly bean was a collaboration between Herman Rowland, Sr. and David Klein. Also the character Mr. Jelly Belly was developed in 1983 as the Jelly Belly Candy Company website states and David Klein was not involved in the development of the character. Thus the sentence "David Klein was Mr. Jelly Belly until the trademark was purchased in October 1980," is misleading. ~~mnighbor

Did you not read the message I left on your talk page? I reverted your edit because of your continued use of registered trademark symbols, which you apparently have no problem with given the above. Siddhant Vats

Hello FreeRange Frog,

You have been doing a great work for wikipedia by being an important contributor. It has recently come to my notice that there is a cyber war going against Mr. Siddhant Vats. There are group of teenagers from a website ask.fm who have tried putting Mr. Vats's online image down by writing forged and false things on blog. Hence, they also tried attempting to edit the wikipedia page of Mr. Siddhant. There have been over 45 news articles from the leading newspapers and blogs such as London Evening Standard, BBC and tech blogs including CNET about Mr. Siddhant's work. The Team of Mr. Siddhant has also approached the Ministry of I&T and the CBI (Cyber Cell) recently to track down these individuals and take appropriate legal actions.

If the need be, I can email you more articles about Androidly and Mr. Siddhant's work so that it may help you keep a neutral online page for him.

I am writing to you as you are a contributor of Wikipedia to be neutral and help us maintain a neutral wikipedia page for him.

Thanks for your time and effort to keep wikipedia a positive place.

(PS - Sending this again as the previous message had typing errors)

Ronks123 (talk) 09:51, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Neutrality is a primary concern with all articles, so that's what was done to this one as well. Also this is important in this context. Beyond that, I would recommend you don't edit the article directly at all, because you have a conflict of interest. Follow the instructions here instead to recommend changes. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:53, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi FreeRange Frog, Thanks again. Can you help us edit the article and add more relevant data and facts with proper citations and references? It would be of great help.

This user page behaved oddly because he has a global user page set up, which is copied automatically from his user page on Meta if he has no local user page defined. You got rid of it by giving him a blank user page, but I have deleted that because he would presumably prefer the global page to show (though what he really wants is the Facebook-style page that RHaworth deleted}. @JohnCD: Ahhhh, I understand now. Never ran into that before. Thanks for the explanation. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:30, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
It could have been better publicised. I tripped over it when I deleted someone's user page on a U1 request, and was surprised to see the global version which immediately showed. So I rushed to check Meta:User:JohnCD, which is what anyone will now see who happens to look for me on any other WP, and was relieved to see it quite suitable. Meta:User:FreeRangeFrog looks OK, too. JohnCD (talk) 21:42, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
@JohnCD: Yeah, I immediately checked it out and copied over what was in my Commons userpage. Now it shows up everywhere. Very nice, but they definitely should have advertised it more. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 21:44, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
It's been like that since 23 February. See this notification. --Redrose64 (talk) 23:10, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

SATMAP Inc.

Hi, I have a few questions with regards to the deleted article SATMAP Inc. The first time I submitted it for review, it was mentioned that the top paragraph and the section under corporate relations to sound like an advertisement, and that the section on system features was far too technical for an article on Wikipedia. As such, we have edited the system features such that it is easier to understand by an average reader. The part that my group does not understand is that, since system features will only be understood best by the company itself, and the section is merely a description of the features by rephrasing, editing and summarising the different patents that are relevant, how would this section constitute as advertising? I understand that the guidelines require independent, third party sources. However, as mentioned earlier, no other sources would know exactly about the system features of the company, other than the company itself.

Another point would be, for the section under corporate relations, we only listed the different companies that the firm has partnered with, and briefly described how the firm works in a partnership with another firm, and I believe that this section could risk being flagged as an advertisement. This brings me to my second question: Would it be better if the whole article is changed to that on the system that the firm is based on, instead of an article based on the firm? Thank you in advance for your comments and advice. ABonheur (talk) 01:44, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

By the way, is it possible for my group to recover the deleted article to continue working on it? Thank you again. ABonheur (talk) 02:50, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

I reviewed some of the discussions you had with other editors regarding this. You first mistake was to assume that Wikipedia would accept an article about a company filled with detailed and promotional-sounding descriptions of their product, buzzwords like "first contact resolution rate", "linear combination includes the relative weighting of the two or more output variables" and "utilizes both existing data sources of partnered companies and its own external data from providers to avoid tier-based call routings" among many others, as well as liberal and wholly inappropriate use of trademark symbols. Your second mistake was to move the article out of draft by yourself, and then telling a more experienced editor that you knew what you were doing. And your third mistake was to use Wikipedia for a school assignment using a subject like this. Had you been creating an article about a species of butterfly then we obviously wouldn't be having this conversation, however opting for trying to pass a brochure about a commercial product under the guise of an encyclopedic article about a possibly non-notable company (which also affects whether the article is kept or not) and then ignoring our guidelines and policies because you had some kind of deadline was a really bad idea. I really can't tell you what to fix, because if you think you fixed it before then it's obvious you can't see what the problem is and nothing I say is going to help. Lots and lots of articles are written as part of class assignments, and we rarely have any problems with those because they tend to pick subjects that would never be susceptible to this type of problem. How about doing something else that actually improves the encyclopedia? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 07:51, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
@FreeRangeFrog: Hi, my apologies as my action of moving it out of the draft might have been rash. I had done so as I have seen a number of articles being moved out without issues and I thought it would be fine to do so. We have earlier chosen this topic, as we are restricted to topics related to IT, and we thought that such a topic would be easier to understand and research on as compared to other IT topics which may be far more technical. If I am able to rephrase the system features again, find a few more independent sources about the system features, and to reduce references to the firm, other than the fact that it is developed by the said firm, then would it be more appropriate? ABonheur (talk) 11:30, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
I can't stop you from recreating the article, but then I also can't assure you that it won't be deleted again if it resembles the previous version. That's why you might want to really go through a review this time. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:54, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

@DGG: Sorry, I should have said importance, not notability. In the context of a speedy decline. And I know about VIAF pulling material from Wikipedia, so I do tend to check them. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 03:17, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Even so,, why is it an assertion of importance, unless you mean that it indicates a published book? He did in fact have a published book, but it can represent other things--such as even a self-published book. DGG ( talk ) 03:21, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
@DGG: Nothing necessarily to do with published works, but because compared with 99% of the non-notable authors, actors, singers, businesspeople and the rapper du jour that show up on the new pages feed, to me at least a LOC authority record merits a second look and is an implied assertion of minimal importance (although obviously not notability) that can override an A7. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 03:46, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Hey FreeRange. Do you have a minute to review the discussion here and make whatever edits you feel are representative of the discussion (or just add to it if you feel more discussion is needed). It doesn't seem like it would make sense for me to suggest a specific prescriptive edit in a Request Edit, because consensus is not clear enough (and probably never will be). CorporateM (Talk) 17:53, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

The context about the controversy section is that there's been quite a bit of discussion about whether it should have a dedicated section per WP:CRITICISM and whether it belongs under Early life or if it should be placed chronologically, as the controversy occurred 15 years after the rest of the Early life section, when she was appointed as COO. A couple of us were a bit peeved because the discussion was not leaning towards an Education section at all, when the editor that has been POV pushing unilaterally moved it there. However, given that there is no strong consensus about it in any direction, it's probably best to move on anyway. Thanks for chipping in! CorporateM (Talk) 15:19, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, FreeRangeFrog, thank you for setting autoconfirmed user protection on Intelligence quotient, an article that is already under ArbCom discretionary sanctions and which has needed extensive article improvement for a long time. I'm hoping to fix the long-standing sourcing problems and undue weight problems in that article, and you've just made it easier for me to do so. Feel free to look on and advise me as I edit the article. Keep up the good work. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk, how I edit) 01:42, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

@WeijiBaikeBianji: It's just three days, and because there were at least two IPs inserting the same unsourced information. If any more disruption occurs we can escalate the protection. If you're going to be actively working on it I'll keep an eye out. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 06:30, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
The last substantive edit I made to that article was partially reverted, followed by pugnacious talk on the article talk page, by an I.P. editor who appears to fall under the WP:EVADE rule. (There have been a lot of ArbCom site bans connected to that topic.) So I had better prioritize working on that article (I'm working on several high-page-view articles at the moment, with "working" including looking up sources off-wiki) while the current protection is in place and see what happens. Hi Frog, I see the request for undeletion for [[5]] was denied. I would like to make revisions and add additional links to the draft for resubmission. Thank you. Nyfan2007 (talk) 22:57, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

@Nyfan2007: Are you actually going to work on it or just abandon it for six more months? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 05:17, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for replying. I am already working on it to improve it. Would appreciate any helpful hints an experienced writer such as yourself may have. Nyfan2007 (talk) 15:15, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

It's been a long battle against the covertly sponsored sock network, but I think the page is almost ready for GAN; now that their most active sock account has been blocked, I think it should be easier to deal with other SPAs. I was wondering if you had a few minutes to hammer out a few remaining promotion-type issues in this discussion string. I think it would only take a few minutes at this point to get it GAN-ready.CorporateM (Talk) 14:56, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I'm hopeful that the sock network has given up and the article can go through GAN now. That article was exhausting me due to all the covert SPAs trying to make it look like I was the one pov pushing. Now I just have to figure out how to get the Heather Bresch page GAN ready ;-) CorporateM (Talk) 18:51, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Mujaddid Ahmed Ijaz

The article Mujaddid Ahmed Ijaz you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Mujaddid Ahmed Ijaz for comments about the article. Well done! Date error in OnLive citation

Hi FreeRangeFrog. I moved the OnLive article citation discussion to Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. I don't want to make any other changes until the matter is resolved, but I wanted to point out that if you end up keeping the citation it has a date error. It is dated 2010-8-28. The article was actually published on 2012-8-28. I thought it was a non-controversial undo, so I didn't correct it. Thanks! Starkcasted (talk) 04:38, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

The previous version was deleted because it was essentially an advertisement. You also have a conflict of interest and should not have created the article directly. I added a sandbox template at the top you can use to submit your draft for review. Note that it will have to meet the notability guidelines before it is accepted. Wikipedia is not a business directory. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:58, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Water to the Soul

Good day! I think that Water to the Soul was not deleted in accordance with consensus, which had not been reached. After people recommended that it be deleted, I added a great deal of information to the article indicating that "Innocent Child" received substantial airplay, which I vaguely remember hearing back in the day. Only one comment, indicating that the album article DID INDEED go beyond a track listing, was instated after the relisting. Please explain why the article was redirected. --Jax 0677 (talk) 16:45, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

No.10 in airplay at KDWB in Minneapolis, Minnesota in June 1992,[3] was in rotation on Friday Night Videos at the same time,[4] ranked No.36 on Rick Dees Weekly Top 40[5] and was featured on Disc 8 of Windswept Pacific is nowhere near what WP:NSONGS requires. Articles about the album (!) or the group don't even exist (!!), and in my opinion the redirect to the singer was frankly not appropriate. The appropriate action should have been to delete it, but that was the consensus on the AFD, so that's what I did. If you feel this is incorrect, WP:DRV should be your next stop. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:28, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of ALESSANDRO ESSENO

Hello, the composer Alessandro Esseno has released records with other record labels as reported by amazon. I do not understand then why the page was deleted. --Brainstorm76 (talk) 14:35, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

The article was deleted for the same reason it was deleted last time - it is written in a completely inappropriate, promotional way. Seriously, ... like snow crystals that musical compositions, the songs of "La legge del continuo mutamento" released in Febraury of 2015, testify the maturity and professional composer and pianist Alessandro Esseno. Awarded as the previous album, with a considerable number of downloads as well as sales, the album is a unique work in the instrumental succeeding in difficult to combine the "universality" and "usability" of listening to all latitudes. All other tracks are fractal, seashells, snowflakes precisely, forms evanescent hour hour sharp sound, but without reference to the usual piano, which seems never to have heard Esseno and so on. That's for the guys website, not Wikipedia. Anyway, I think he might be notable so I restored it to Draft:Alessandro Esseno where you can work on it until you feel it's ready, and then submit it for review using the banner at the top. If you submit while it still has all that advertisement hagiography-type material it will be rejected. You also need to improve sourcing and formatting and add more footnotes in the appropriate places. No one is going to write an article for you, you must do it yourself. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:37, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

DOB "Nandita Swetha"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Jaaron95#DOB_of_Nandita Please refer this discussion for the Article Nandita Swetha regarding her DOB. I have provided him the valid DOB issued by govt of India.--202.164.152.163 (talk) 16:41, 30 April 2015 (UTC)--202.164.152.163 (talk) 16:41, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

That's not acceptable. See WP:BLPPRIMARY. The DOB was originally removed because it was unsourced, now you want the "right" DOB to stay using a document we cannot verify and cannot accept as source. So no, unless you find a reliable secondary source the article should remain without a date of birth. Also, please log into your account, and be very careful with even the appearance of making legal threats. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:52, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Mr/Mrs/Miss Free Range Frog... This article needs a DOB. Because of having wrong DOB for long period of time the media started publishing wrong DOB of the Artist. Wiki is responsible for this inconvenience happened to her. here is https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nandita_swetha_DOB.jpg# the proof for her original DOB. The number in the card is there in the govt records. If anyone wants to check the reality of that pls do it. Someone has created an article with wrong information long back. What was the reliable source wiki was following that time. The article was here for last somany years. Where were the ppl that time who takes initiative in editing it now. a This article has insulted the artist. And there is no point in depending on reliable source on one fine morning.--Seny P Arukattu (talk) 16:58, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Please read WP:BLPPRIMARY again. Failing the existence of a reliable secondary source, the article should and will remain without a date of birth. You can send us all the photographs of all the birth certificates, drivers licenses and government issued IDs you want, and it won't make a difference. On the other hand of course, no incorrect DOB will be allowed into the article either, so there's that. If you continue down this path, your account will be blocked. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:01, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Here is the scan of proof. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nandita_swetha_DOB.jpg# --Seny P Arukattu (talk) 17:03, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Read WP:BLPPRIMARY again, and again until you understand it. And while you're at it, you might want to delete that file from Commons. I don't know how the subject feels about having that shared to the world. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:04, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

I saw that. But where were these people when there was a wrong DOB mentioned in that article fro years. And the artist was struggling and was unaware about the source of wrong DOB. What answer you have for the damage the artist has faced because of having a wrong article in WIKI..? --Seny P Arukattu (talk) 17:13, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

I don't know but two wrongs don't make a right. Your attempt to insert a poorly sourced DOB to me is no better than someone who inserts a fake one - because we can't reliably verify either. As to the image you uploaded, I assume you own the copyright, so you might want to adjust the licensing on it to avoid it being deleted. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:16, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

As per wiki if you do not follow any of the Govt issued proofs for DOB then what is the reliable source ..? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seny P Arukattu (talkcontribs) 17:23, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

A secondary source, a book, magazine, website that is considered reliable per policy. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:25, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Wiki will depend on articles came in book even if its fake.. right..??--Seny P Arukattu (talk) 17:46, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

What do you think, you figure we'd accept a "fake" article to source the date of birth of a living person? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:48, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Yes exactly. I am not just thinking. I believe that you believe on fake articles. Otherwise this article would't have had a wrong dob for more that one year. It was mentioned 1986. Her parents has not even thought about their marriage that point of time..--Seny P Arukattu (talk) 17:51, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Look again - I was the one that originally removed the other DOB here back on March 23. There was no "fake" anything, it was just added without a source. Similarly to the date you added. So then ask yourself, why should we believe you, or any other random person who shows up to add a different date? Because you say you are friends with the subject and you have a low-quality image of an unverifiable government issued ID that any Photoshop rookie could whip up in about 30 minutes? THAT is why we require secondary sources, so we don't have to worry about that. So we can say "hey, this reliable source says so-and-so was born on such-and-such date, so we'll go with that". I'm not doubting your story or your good intentions, just enforcing our policies. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:55, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

how about this. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nandita_Swetha_3.jpg or will this also get deleted..?--Seny P Arukattu (talk) 18:54, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

No, that's perfectly fine. That's the license you should be using for all your similarly uploaded images. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:58, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks..--Seny P Arukattu (talk) 19:01, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

According to you if that copyright is perfect then why someone again removing the picture..? --Seny P Arukattu (talk) 19:11, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

I have no control over what happens in Commons, this is Wikipedia. In my opinion your license tag was appropriate if you are the owner of the photograph, so all you need to do is to make that case in the deletion discussion. It might also have to do with the fact that you uploaded it multiple times but again, that's in Commons, not here. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:13, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Your intervention on article on Dinesh Singh

Dear FreeRangeFrog, I would like to thank you for intervening to ensure the neutrality of the article. It seems that you have tagged that article as : "This article's factual accuracy is disputed." If you peruse the links to the newspaper reports, you will realize that none of the content that has been removed was factually incorrect. Let me know if there is any specific fact whose accuracy was contested by someone. Best, Annie

Please keep the discussion on the article's talk page. The tag is a reflection of that discussion, and it refers to the material you insist on adding. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:24, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks !! Sorry for posting this content to your talk page. I am new to editing on wikipedia so am learning as I go. Should I delete this from here and move it to the article's talk page or leave it as it is.

That's fine. Please sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~, or maybe just create an account. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:41, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, FreeRangeFrog. I have started signing my comments with four tildes. Also if you have some time, can you look at the revised content and see if it meets the guidelines of Wikipedia. Another editor has provided very helpful comments and I think that as a result the quality of the content has improved manifold from what it was earlier. Once you and other editor are fine with the content, let me know how can it be incorporated in the article. Best, Annie 67.71.166.98 (talk) 22:23, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

If you go on holiday, you should not do administrative things just before you go.

For Presumptive Nominee AFD, you wrongly say there's a consensus for keep when there is actually consensus for delete. One keep opinion is wishy washy and thinks of a possible merge and redirect. Please do not be bureaucratic and just reverse the decision not try to get me to go through appeal, ignore all rules.

As far as this, Davie vandalized and removed my valid comments so as to try to win the AFD. She used Twinkle improperly and, according to the Twinkle page, should be blocked. This is really bad behavior, using Twinkle to win a AFD. I recommend you fight for law and order and block this Davie for 3 days to prevent disruption, at which time she can contemplate proper Twinkle use. About the article digital perpetuation marked for deletion

Hello FreeRangeFrog,

I am trying to figure out why this would be marked for deletion. In all things new such as the speed for technology today we will see changes in traditional concepts and new ones evolving.

The internet-of-things will impact and change business models and one of the most important going forward will be protecting digital data assets. Traditional recordkeeping and library, archive methodologies for 'preservation' do not cater and will not be suitable for digital data asset management. Whilst the concept and term of digital perpetuation is only just evolving one could same the same for a lot of new terms. Why is it that you have such a problem with this word and its objective for differentiation and clarification.

Even if you delete this the term will not go away. It is already out there in publication on professional website libraries and will be available in the Queensland archives shortly. Therefore whilst it is not prominent now like all new evolutions so is there the introduction to new terms of reference it takes time and one would had thought that the wikipedia was a progressive environment and keen to be seen to staying in touch technology and the changing global environment.

Thank you for your time. Linda Shave — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.173.192.215 (talk) 07:28, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

The entire "The method of composition hypno-ancestral" section is completely inappropriate. I don't think you are the best person to work on this article honestly, you've been at it for a long time and still can't get it right. Anyway, I deleted the draft I restored for you since you are apparently not going to use it, and added a submit banner to your sandbox. About deleted article Taka Museum

Hi, FRF.
I was working on this article when you deleted it. I disagree with you about the speedy deletion reason - it looked pretty neutral to me, just of questionable notability. There is a newspaper article about it in the Dhaka Tribune that seems to assert some significance, if not notability.
I could recreate it myself, but that (a) may possibly be arcane violations of the small-print of of policies and guidelines about attribution, WP:COPYWITHIN and so on, (b) would also be the wrong thing to do.
I can move it into Draft: space, but it would probably be quicker if you just undeleted it and let me work on it. What do you think?--Shirt58 (talk) 09:03, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

@Shirt58: It was a bit borderline spammy, what with the inclusion of the schedule and whatnot. But restored to Draft:Taka Museum, hopefully you can get it going. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 16:28, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Love Your Melon deletion

Hi FreeRangeFrog,

I'm just curious to hear your honest opinion on my Love Your Melon page that you deleted yesterday, and to hear why you think it is unambiguously promotional. Are all pages for organizations removed because they are promotional? What constitutes a non-promotional Wikipedia page for an organization? Just looking to learn, thanks for your input.

Bhynes2 (talk) 05:21, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

The misplaced article on your talk page seems to have been the same as your current draft - just an advertisement for the organization (Love Your Melon beanies and hats are manufactured in the United States and made from all-natural fiber, 100% cotton) where it to be an actual article. It reads like a press release in my opinion. It does not even attempt to describe why it is notable enough to be included in the encyclopedia. I don't know if it is notable, but it will probably be rejected if at the very least you don't use more secondary sources independent of the subject. In cases where a misplaced draft seems to even have a whiff of notability I'd normally just move it, but honestly in this case I didn't think it was worth it. However it's now in the right location and I don't review articles, so that's up to the AFC folks. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 20:44, 6 May 2015 (UTC)

Perhaps you were a little hasty in deleting this page. He was elected as the MP for Horsham (UK Parliament constituency) yesterday. Could you please reconsider? Edwardx (talk) 09:33, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

Well, it's been recreated so I guess that's done. It would have been useful if you had made a note of the reason for the recreation in your summary during the creation, or notified the closing admin, or opened a deletion review or something, otherwise it just looks like a straight G4 deletion that requires no discussion whatsoever. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 17:48, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Useful yes, but not essential. It was a very short article, but the notability was clearly established and referenced. We all make mistakes - why not just put your hand up and move on? Edwardx (talk) 19:28, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
What is important is that the article is back up - beyond that, what is it exactly that you need? §FreeRangeFrogcroak 19:35, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't need anything, but it would have been nice if you had simply said sorry rather than what looks more like blaming me. Anyway, that how I see it, although I of course know that misunderstandings easily arise here on WP! Edwardx (talk) 19:42, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
