I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place Edit summaryWhen editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this: The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature. When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. I've swapped a few in and out over the last couple of months, but I think it would be better if there were more of a community attempt at deciding this, proposals, votes, that kind of thing. So - why not pop over to Portal_talk:Formula_One#Suggestions_for_Featured_Article: and make a suggestion. Ta. 4u1e 00:41, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Selected articles on Portal:F1Hello again. I dropped notes round a while back to those who have listed themselves at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Formula_One to ask for suggestions for selected articles on portal:Formula One. There was a pretty good response, both in terms of how it might work and of articles suggested. Damon Hill came out with the most support and was brought up to Good Article standard after a lot of work by Skully Collins and others before going on as the F1 portal selected article a couple of weeks ago. It is now at Featured Article Candidates as a Featured Article candidate (why not drop by and see if you can help polish it further?). Several people who responded to the original request suggested that a monthly or bi-weekly 'Selected Article' could act as a catalyst for an improvement drive to get more articles up to a higher standard. Although it wasn't quite what I had in mind when I started, this seemed to work pretty well for the Damon Hill article, so I've drafted up a process for doing this more regularly. See Portal_talk:Formula_One/Management_of_selected_articles for details. Essentially the suggestion is that we vote for an article to improve every couple of weeks and at the end of the improvement process the article goes on the portal as the new 'Selected Article'. I'd be grateful for any comments on how this might work - I'm sure some of you are more familiar with things 'Wiki' than me - as well as your votes for the next candidate (by 16 July). You may also want to help with the article Gilles Villeneuve, which was the next most popular after Damon Hill. The idea is to try and get it up to GA standard by 16 July and then put it on the portal as the 'Selected Article'. I hope you can help! 4u1e 18:33, 2 July 2006 (UTC) Empty articlesHi! When you create an article, could you please write some basic information about the subject? Empty articles with only a category and a stub tag will most likely be deleted at some point. Happy editings, –Mysid(t) 10:10, 25 October 2006 (UTC) Cambata AviationA tag has been placed on Cambata Aviation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to provide more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately, and also put a note on Talk:Cambata Aviation. An administrator should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 1 under Articles. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template Not sure if you saw, but I responded to your post on the Assessment department page. thadius856talk 06:10, 4 November 2006 (UTC) barnstar
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Aviance, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Aviance. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. However in an encyclopedia previous destinations and why they were dropped, or current destination and why they came around, or why ones are going to be dropped is much more encyclopedic than a bare listing of current destinations. Of course, only if it is properly referenced! Thanks/wangi 00:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC) Vienna International AirportIf you wish to move a page, please use the move feature. Blanking a page and redirecting it causes the edit history to be hidden from the new page. Furthermore, the term Schwechat is rarely used in reference to the airport, and WP policy states to use common names. If you wish to move this page, please put up a move request and obtain consensus before doing so. Thanks. DB (talk) 00:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC) You have stated in the infobox that in was put on the list in 1981. As far as I can see this is not true. It was proposed to be added in 1982 and subsequently placed on the List of sites in danger. The infobox should be removed as it is not on the list or it should be changed to make the difference clear. I understand that you may have certain reasons for deleting this section. I do not know whether you have recently been to Talk:El Al and read some of the arguments of those supporting the inclusion of the section. If you have reasons for your actions, please discuss them cin a civil manner on Talk:El Al. I would just like to let you know about why I personally support the inclusion of this section:
I have already asked other users who support this section to temporarily refrain from re-inserting it in because I would really like to hear your reason for removing it constantly. I really do not want to be perceived as 'causing trouble' because that it is absolutely not what I want to do, instead, I hope that my edits can bring about a fairer view of many things on Wikipedia, backed up with reliable and trustworthy evidence and sources. With every hope that this can be resolved in a civil way, Ghfj007 05:47, 12 April 2007 (UTC) Israel projectYou might be interested for this project in some of the people listed at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Israeli_sportspeople, including (among tennis players) Shahar Pe'er and Dudi Sela, perhaps the best two young Israelis. --Epeefleche 19:17, 12 April 2007 (UTC) Thanks for your msgIt wasn't in my watchlist. An editor has mentioned that there is no source for airlines and destinations. I have added a reference to the airport website which includes airlines, but cant find any for destinations. I assume you had a major role in creating the list, do you know of a source we can cite? BTW, great job on this article, I enjoyed editing it, and hope we can get it to FA status Derwig 18:06, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC) Undiscussed mergedPlease discuss major mergers before making them, such as List of highways in Israel into Roads in Israel. This is especially if you're merging two articles that were recently split (there was no objection to the split). I can provide a lot of reasons for keeping the articles split, such as the potential for both to grow and List of highways in Israel not being limited to major highways (it would otherwise be limited by the size of the main Roads in Israel article), also it creates clutter, etc. Regardless of the reasons however, you should state your own reasons for merging before doing so. See also {{Merge}} etc. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 17:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Tourism in IsraelBefore making major changes to articles, I would suggest checking the structure of the same article in other coutnries. In this case, other Tourism in ___ pages are text centred, not gallery centred. We are trying to keep some sort of uniformity on WP. This is sort of rule for creating or changing existing articles that I follow. --Shuki 18:38, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
copyvioThe entire section "Zionism" in the article Culture of Israel is a copyright violation, being a shortened version of [1] , from the Jewish Agency. It has therefore been removed. It is not acceptable to take material from elsewhere, and condense it somewhat and put it into a WP article. WP articles cannot be summaries or paraphrases of copyright work, but must be written as original work, in your own words. Please learn from this, and do not do so again.
