Please reflect this in your edits. – PeeJay 22:32, 15 May 2009 (UTC) Hello!Hi there FILIPÃO, VASCO here, I think that you are Portuguese, because of your account name and your kind of edits. I am from that country but, as i am not sure you are too, will write now in English. I saw your edit summary in Hélder Postiga, and there was a message for me. Maybe i did something wrong, because the page would not direct perfectly. So, i corrected everything now from FC PORTO to F.C. PORTO, with the needed changes in INFOBOX. However, PANATHINAIKOS' page is not called as you say - F.C. - it's FC. I am sorry for my mistakes there, and also did those adjustments in some other players. Also, i want to ask you a favour: please stop removing birthplaces of players in intro, especially when you don't add them in another place. Why do you do that? Is it because they are already in infoboxes? If it is, infoboxes also have name, birthdate, position, and we don't remove that in INTRO, i guess.. Finally, i noticed that you sometimes correct my stuff to "make it wrong". For example, in João Vieira Pinto, it is said that he had a conflict with Benfica president VALE E AZEVEDO, being a free agent in EURO 2000. You changed that to EURO 2004, when player was not even more an international, it was after the attack on the referee (2002). Was it just a mistake? I hope so. That is all for the moment, have a nice week, good work, VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 17:16, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Take care, VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 00:44, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Greetings - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 01:14, 27 May 2009 (UTC) List of German football transfersI recently undid some of your edits to the article List of German football transfers summer 2009. Unfortunately the edit summary bar did not provide sufficient space for me to fully explain myself so please allow me to do so hear. The edits you made create ambiguity. The transfer of Mensur Mujdža being prime case in point here. You had listed his club of origin simply as Zagreb, however there are multiple football clubs in Zagreb. The name of a city and the name of a club are not synonymous and shouldn't be treated as such. Wolfsburg is not the same as VfL Wolfsburg. I intended no disrespect, I just don't want confuse that's all. Best Regards Sir Sputnik (talk). Issue on van der Vaart's nameDude, calm down. I didn't mean nothing by undoing your edit. I just think otherwise. I've posted our little disagreement here. Please check it out.Ipsumesse (talk) 16:29, 23 June 2009 (UTC) INFOBOX namesHi there FILIPÃO, VASCO here (still don't know for sure if you are Portuguese, but since you know English), Not waiting to get an answer, but will ask anyway: could you please stop writing UNIÃO DE LEIRIA and ESTRELA DA AMADORA in infoboxes (just UNIÃO LEIRIA and ESTRELA AMADORA, please, for compression)? I think it's better to leave it in storyline. Also, PORTO is widely known as FC PORTO, and you remove it always - if i respect link like this - FC Porto - i think it's OK. All for the moment, have a good weekend, VASCO AMARAL, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 05:06, 26 June 2009 (UTC) July 2009Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to SK Rapid Wien, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. GrooveDog (talk) (Review) 05:31, 11 July 2009 (UTC) S.S. Lazio 2009-2010Hi! Thank you very much for helping S.S. Lazio 2009-2010 article. I'm not very good in english, so thank you for the corrections and other things you did. But, I'd like just to ask you this thing. You wrote: The win ensured Tommaso Rocchi could thus lift the Supercoppa Italiana trophy that Lazio won for the third time in their history, and the second one during Claudio Lotito's chairmanship. I think this sentence is wrong. It seems that Claudio Lotito won two Supercoppe: it's wrong, Claudio Lotito won one Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa, and the Supercoppa was the second trophy among ALL the trophies he won at Lazio. Am I right? Thank you ;)--Andrea 93 (msg) 05:58, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Names of German football clubsI've noticed you've been abbreviating club names in a number of articles related to football. While some of these changes are appropriate, but not necessary (i.e. FC Bayern Munich to Bayern Munich or Bayer 04 Leverkusen to Bayer Leverkusen), in many cases you've abbreviated the club names to the point of ambiguity. As a general rule of thumb, do not use just the city name for the club, because this implies that the club in question is the only football club from that city. As an extreme example of this, after your edits the article on the Germany national youth football team listed both SC Freiburg and Freiburger FC, two different clubs, simply as Freiburg making it sound as though they were the same club. Just try an make sure when abbreviating names that its clear which club is meant. Thanks –Sir Sputnik (talk) 01:00, 26 August 2009 (UTC) More doubts (the same really...)Hi there FILIPÃO, VASCO here, Still don't know if you're Portuguese too, but since you know English there is no problem... I continue to have doubts in some of your edits (nothing has been talked about since you refuse to respond to my messages, and i don't think i have been rude or aggressive or anything), particularly regarding one thing: you compress almost every club name in storyline, but enlarge it in BOX, in the cases i have already pointed out: VITÓRIA DE SETÚBAL, ESTRELA DA AMADORA, OLIVAIS E MOSCAVIDE, etc. I think, for compression purposes, those middle words should not be included in BOX, only in storyline. Don't you agree? I tried to discuss that with you already, but you answered nothing and reverted again. I think you could at least have the courtesy of "sending" me your views, then we could work together in improving soccer articles - i see that that is your main area of editing, as mine. Ah, one other thing: i don't think they allow sponsor names in WP links, so i think PORTUGUESE LEAGUE (or LIGA) is more accurate than LIGA SAGRES. From Portugal, have a nice weekend (and please send me an answer), VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 13:38, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
Cheers, VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 15:07, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
I am here for the next hours, message me back in case of doubts. Later! VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 00:39, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Tell me your views please, i will try to argue with your inputs...Later! VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 00:48, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
About that 8-1, yes, it's one of those games, happen very rarely. I think Benfica has too many foreign players, but unfortunately they are not the only club, even the national team has them (and not just Portugal!). To finalize this good chat, i'll finish by apologizing if i sounded somewhat aggressive in some of my edit summaries when reverting your actions (but keep in man you also reverted mine), it's just i was under the impression you did not wish to talk to me AT ALL and it was frustrating... Nice talking to you, keep up the good work, VASCO, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 01:04, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Cheers, keep up the good work, ask if you have any doubts - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 01:08, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
All in all, i agree with your suggestion. Hopefully we can cooperate more and better in the future. Tchau!! VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 01:17, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Have a good Wednesday, keep up the good work, VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 02:17, 2 September 2009 (UTC) Another tryHi there FILIPÃO, VASCO here, Man, i really don't know why you almost never answer my messages, even though when i ask something and need your opinion. Now, i have to ask you this: i thought we had agreed on mostly everything in our last (first) conversation, and you said you would not revert my edits anymore, but fact is you still do... My last message "asked" if you could leave club names in full in storyline, just compressing them in box. I got no response, dunno why. Now, please take this example; i'm having a tough time understanding your approach - FC PORTO is a very small name, and this club is known %50 as PORTO as %50 more as FC PORTO, so you could leave the FC but you don't; and you add to already big names, now it was C.D. Aves turned into Desportivo das Aves, which is much MUCH bigger...Please, please follow my suggestion, put C.D. Aves or Aves in box, then Desportivo das Aves in story, please. And if you don't want to do it "my" way, at least have the courtesy to reply and add your views on this matter (remember, i have everything you said earlier very clear, my only doubts are if we can write full name in story, then compressed in infobox, and not in all the cases, FC PORTO being the greatest example - ah, and another doubt, why do you remove the dots in FC? Do you think it's also nicer to the eye? Please answer, even a short one). Greetings, VASCO AMARAL, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 04:04, 13 September 2009 (UTC) September 2009Please don't change the format of dates without good reason, as you did to Lights (musician). Most British people and many people internationally write dates in day-month-year order, e.g., 12 December 1904. Most Americans use month-day-year order, e.g., December 12, 1904. If the article is about an American topic, use month-day-year. If it is a British or European topic, use day-month-year. If neither, leave it as originally written. Many Americans or British people take offence if an article about their country, written in their local version of English, is changed around to a version they don't use. So please do not do that. If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place Sincere helpOK man, i see you have NO intention to engage in a conversation about your/mine edits. After our first chat, i thought we came to an agreement, but i see we (you) did not. OK no problem, i'll work it out. However, i would like to leave you be with a note, to help you in your future edits: you changed Nuno Gomes position from STRIKER to CENTRE FORWARD, and that is 100% wrong. Centre forwards are tipically strong in the air and powerfully built, as Hugo Almeida, Julio Salinas, Emile Heskey, Mário Jardel, and not very gifted technically, all the opposite of Gomes in his best days (which have sadly passed). And to corroborate my views, take a look at these differences at our very own WP: Strikers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_(association_football) here) and centre forwards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_(association_football)#Centre_forward here), please leave Gomes' position be now. For the rest, no worries, i'll never bother you again, every editor for himself, no problems. Happy life and editing, VASCO AMARAL, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 04:07, 24 September 2009 (UTC) Re: HowTo be honest, I have no idea about the conventions for players' names. I just tend to go with the flow. I will say, though, that I usually use "Villa" for David Villa and "Agüero" for Sergio Agüero. As for the {{goal}} template, it should definitely be 32', 88', not 32' 88'. – PeeJay 21:35, 30 March 2010 (UTC) ApologiesGiven your prompt revert in Raul Meireles, i'll go back on my original promise and message you again, to say the following: I am sorry if i was unpolite to you in any way while writing edit summaries, it's just i got so frustrated that you don't talk back to me when i want to discuss edit tactics, it's nothing personal man. Please accept my apologies if i did something incorrect, i really want us to work as a team - we are both Portuguese and edit mainly in soccer, it could be interesting. As far as F.C. Porto or FC Porto, i think it's all the same really. Cheers, keep up the good work, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:41, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Keep it up, until some other time, ask if you need anything, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 01:19, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Also, as you did at C.D. Fátima and many other clubs, please stop removing the italics, Portuguese Liga is not an English word (OK, it's half in English) - ah, Liga de Honra is ENTIRELY foreign, please leave the italics be. I have two choices of edit: if i write the link, i put italics, if i don't want italics, i hide link (like LIGA DE HONRA hidden as PORTUGUESE SECOND DIVISION, which you also removed). Cheers, from Portugal, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:34, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
In intro, just current club, but if you really want to refer to the international status of a player, then write "currently plays for x club and y national team", that would be more simple, accurate and to the point, saving a lot of editors a lot of work. And please, please, please let club names stay in full in storyline, compression in box only (that is, if you want to "work together" with me like you said in your last message! I am beginning to doubt that seriously, but you can be honest with me - i.e. "Leave me alone please with your suggestions" and i will leave you in peace). Cheers - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:39, 12 July 2010 (UTC) October 2010If you make any more edits like this, you'll end up blocked.
