User talk:Fighting PovertyWelcome!Hello, Fighting Poverty, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:
You may also want to take the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Also, remember that Wikipedia has a policy of "neutral point of view". That basically means you can't say things like "abc is the best country in the world" or "xyz manufacturing has consistently made the best products". It means you're more than welcome to edit and improve articles on anything you like, including stuff on housing and poverty, but avoid expressing your opinion, and stuff like that. Again, welcome! —George8211 / T 18:03, 13 July 2015 (UTC) Fighting Poverty, you are invited to the Teahouse!
SourcesGreetings FP. Could I suggest you stick to WP:Suggested sources and avoid the Daily Mirror like the plague! This particularly applies on high profile wp:BLPs. Suggested sources are much more difficult to justify removing unless the facts have been covered elsewhere so that wp:undue applies. Regards JRPG (talk) 09:17, 15 July 2015 (UTC) PovertyThanks for all your advice, help and support. May I draw your attention to a new section on Poverty in the David Cameron article. WP:BLPHi Fighting Poverty, Just letting you know that I've moved the question that you raised on WP:BLP to the associated Talk page Wikipedia Talk:BLP. Please look there for any answers. - Ryk72 'c.s.n.s.' 08:22, 18 July 2015 (UTC) David CameronHello, when adding newspaper citations to this or any other article, could you please note that it is necessary to give the name of the newspaper and the date of publication. Also, the names of newspapers go in italics, and the titles of newspaper articles go in inverted commas. Thanks -- Alarics (talk) 20:20, 19 July 2015 (UTC) Sanctions to Jobseekers' AllowanceA great deal was taken out. I'll be away for a few hours, please help and advise. Fighting Poverty (talk) 10:03, 21 July 2015 (UTC) Wikilink in David Cameron quoteHi - first, we rarely put links in quotes. Secondly, a link to an organisation that disbanded in January 2006 in a 2007 quote is clearly inappropriate. I appreciate the intent but not the result. Doug Weller (talk) 12:05, 22 July 2015 (UTC) Hi, Notice of noticeboard discussionThere is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is "Multiple account question". Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:36, 1 July 2017 (UTC) |
