Article Feedback Tool updateHey Fauzan. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles. We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article. Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! We seem to be at an impasse, where there is no definitive consensus for the inclusion of the Muslim conquests of the Indian subcontinent. Still, with a couple exceptions, including my own, most of the voices calling to retain the entry do with some sort of caveat. I'd propose we relist the RfC as question as whether or not to retain "meta-events" at all and what litmus would should employ to identify events as such. Moeen AliHi, This is about the changes you made on the above mentioned article. The reference you cited does not really say that The beard thats feared is Moeen's nickname. Nickname literally means the name which your friends call you out of love. Now can you prove that any of his friends whether among the England players or his local friends call him by those words (cite any ref about that). This thing written by a photographer Phillip brown who takes his photographs for his girlfriend Victoria. And his words cannot be called as nickname for the person whom he has never been with. AGRL shortcutsHi, I noticed that you added two shortcuts to Help:Automatically generated reference list. Thanks. I think that may be a good idea. However, the original location at Help:Footnotes already has a shortcut named HELP:AGRL. Probably all of these shortcuts should point to the same location. So for now I have edited the two new shortcuts to point to the same location as HELP:AGRL. If we want all of the shortcuts to point to the new page, then I think it would probably be a good idea to mention that on the Help Talk:Footnotes page and see if we can get a consensus about that, and then edit all of the shortcuts again to point to the new page. For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. The objective of the program is to provide laptops and internet stipends for existing editors who need support to contribute more actively. 50 basic model Acer Chromebooks and Internet stipends for 100 contributors are available for distribution. Provided resources are the sole property of the beneficiaries and should be used for the betterment of the movement. If you're an active Wikimedian, and interested to receive support from this project, please apply. This program will (a) support active and experienced Wikipedia editors through the donation of laptops and stipends for internet access and (b) sponsor a language-based contest that aims to address existing Wikipedia content gaps. Phase (a) has been completed, during which active contributors were awarded laptops and internet stipends. Phase (b) will be a contest in which editors will come together and develop a writing contest focused on content gaps. Each month three individual prizes will be awarded to each community based on their contribution for the month. The prizes worth 3,000 INR, 2000 INR, and 1,000 INR, will be awarded to the top contributors for each month. The contest started at March 1, 2018, 0:00, and will end at May 31, 2018, 23:59 (IST).
