The best thing you can do about this guy is, if you suspect he's using sockpuppets and IP puppets, compile evidence that shows a correlation and file a checkuser request. This will prove once and for all if its the same person. I don't really get why they didn't lengthen the block on the main account after it was obvious he was evading his block by editing under the IP, but that's Wikipedia for you. FamicomJL, I've begun my review of High Rollers. I have a few concerns at this point on first glance, and I'll be reviewing the article in in around a day. There are several headings with only a line or two of information. Perhaps this could be rolled into other sections, a trivia heading, etc. In the schedule history, the show seems to be referenced as HR. If I click straight to this section, I'd find it confusing, not 100% sure what HR was referring to. Perhaps change this to High Rollers, 'the show', etc. I only have minor concerns regarding your references and I'm taking into account the comments on the article's talk page. Faux Pause sources

You said: Hello, as you had stated in the AFD Faux Pause entry, the article would need soruces. However, there was an article, specifically this one: http://www.xanfan.com/hotpotato/fauxpause.htm, HOWEVER, IIRC, the person said it WASN'T a source...but wouldn't it be a source? Xanfan is considered a trustworthy game show writer...his website is filled with true factual information. My question is, wouldn't it be a true source, then? Thanks. The Xanfan source is technically a "source," but may not be considered to be a "reliable source" by most editors, according to the Wikipedia policy discussing reliable sources. If it was one source among many, it would be acceptable as a source for more information, but by itself it isn't enough to establish information. It looks like a blog website of some sort, and the attribution policy says this about that: "Anyone can create a website or pay to have a book published . . . visiting a stranger's personal website is often the online equivalent of reading an unattributed flyer on a lamp post. For that reason, self-published material is largely not acceptable."

You might want to check into searching the Google News Archives (which is a new function that Google recently introduced) with a search something like this: [2]. That way, you don't have to rely on archived press releases from GSN (which, incidentally, would be self-published primary sources, not secondary sources). Of course, most of the archived articles you'll turn up will be behind subscription firewalls. That doesn't stop you from citing them, as long as you're sure that they do in fact confirm the information you think they do.

If you have sources in print form (books, newspapers, magazines), you can also cite those—Wikipedia doesn't rely entirely on web-based sources. See WP:CITE for instructions on how to do that correctly.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hesaidshesaid.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. To Tell the Truth GA nom

I see that you recently nominated the game show for GA. However the article currently has no inline citations, which is a requirement for the GA criteria. Also, the images need a fair use rationale. Rather than having the article failed, consider removing the article from nomination until you have improved the article to meet the GA criteria. Basically you need to find sources for all information that any reader may question about their verifiability. This could do with ratings, the current "citation needed" tags, and other unsourced information. Use the citation templates to include information from documentaries, magazines, journals, news articles, and websites. Look to other similar passed GAs to see what else you can add and how the citations work (I'd recommend using the "Show preview" button a lot!). You found a reference and some links, but they need to be converted into inline citations as well, so readers can click on the number and see what source you are using rather than having to click on the link and follow it. Keep the reference you have at the bottom, but create another section called footnotes and copy and paste the code found on another GA in a references section. If you edit the whole page and then show preview you can see if it worked alright. Again, look at what other GAs are using and pretty much copy the templates/code they are using. Very good, but keep going. For this article, I'd recommend at least 10-20 inline citations due to its length and the subject it covers. Remember that inline citations go directly after the punctuation with no space in between, so make sure you fix those. Also for the images, they still need a fair use rationale. I took a look at the page, and I immediately noticed a formatting issue with your cites; you need to remove the space between the punctuation and the citations (which is an easy fix), and you should use the "cite web" template for your cites (another easy fix). However, the quality of your citations is a bit more problematic; you have a bunch of links to Geocities and Lycos sites, and a distinct lack of links to reliable sources. I went through the article and fixed some minor mistakes. Make sure to convert the links in the "Fifth edition (2000–2002, syndicated)" and "Episode status" are converted into inline citations using the cite templates. It is likely that the article will not be reviewed for a month (I reviewed yours the first time so quickly because I check all new candidates to see if they would be quick-failed) so in the meantime, continue to expand it and add more citations. The more you have, the better sourced your article, and the more likely that the article will be passed. Re: GSN

I suppose there's room for statements like what you said regarding GSN. I think we're on the same page when I say that stuff like "It is unknown whether GSN owns the rights to xx", "GSN aired reruns of this show from April 1999 to September 2002", or speculations like "xx may or may not return to GSN in 2008" is not fitting for WP. Thanks for the comment! Your addition of an infobox was great and being able to dig up a photo that could be considered fair-use was helpful. Yeah, I either heard or read somewhere that his house was for sale. I've been following this story as much as you have, so all the stories seem to blur right now. :) I didn't include it in the article because I didn't think it was relevant enough to the article. It could be seen as a coincidence to the betting on games. He did ref some of the Suns/Spurs series, so I wonder if there was any influence early in the series. I think ESPN said he did Game 2. This gives all the conspiracy theorists all the ammo they need. With all the questionable officiating especially in the last 10 years or so, it does make one wonder. Could other guys be taking money too? A lot of these refs are from the Philly area (Steve Javie, Joe Crawford, and Mike Callahan), so there could be some links to other guys. Good find on the articles, my friend! It sounds like he's been in a whole heap of trouble. Everything from setting a neighbor's tractor on fire, to scaring a US Postal worker to getting kicked out of a country club. I guess Tim is still at his house in Florida cause he was trying to sneak over the fence away from reporters and was caught. This is one strange dude. You would think these NBA refs would go through some kind of psychological screening before being allowed into the league. I know the NFL does this with their new hires. I feel the same way as you do about the whole situation. It will be remembered years to come, but it will not be the downfall of the league. If there are multiple referees or players involved, then it becomes a whole different issue. I really hope they don't go with the NFL challenge system in the NBA because a lot of the calls made are judgement calls. You start to get into a sticky area where you have to determine "yes, it's a foul in the rulebook, but the infraction had no impact on the play and no advantage was gained". I've done some intramural basketball officiating, and its a tough sport to call. One of the things you have to look for is if there was an advantage gained when a foul is committed. A replay system like this would only hurt the league. Earl Strom would be turning in his grave. It's not like baseball where you have safe or out or in football if a player is in-bounds or not. Well that's what confused me at first, I didn't know what having "Tools" meant. But I was pleasently surprised, easy to install one tool adds some more tabs up the top of your screen (just like the "discussion" and "edit the page" ones and right next to them), their used for warning vandals, reporting them for blocking, requesting page protection and speedy deletes. The second tool adds 5 more options under your search bar on the left, which basically allow you watch a live feed of recent changes. So when used together you can revert vandalism and report the vandal in under a minute easy! in fact a guy I help block tonight, had only created his "vandal only" account 10 minutes prior!!! Ok well I think Twinkle (That's the warning tool) might be having problems in internet explorer but I'm not sure now. Well try it anyway, and follow the installation instructions. But basically that involves you following a link which will lead you to your "monobook" and copy n pasting some text into it, refreshing the page and your new tabs will be there! Also here's a description of the warnings say: Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace (you'll understand why this will be useful after you've tried it). The 2nd tool is Anti-Vandal tool, it allows you to view live feed of recent changes, in 4 forms. These forms include a live feed of your watchlist, a live feed of all recent changes made by unregistered IP users, a live feed off ALL recent changes made, and most importantly a live feed of all recent changes that involve words used by vandals (This is the mode I think is best to use). You install just like you did Twinkle, although AVT does have some flaws and it will take a bit of time b4 you find ur optimum settings, But you can always ask me or this guy: J-stan for explanations of articles.

Cool I'm glad u like it, as we now have one more soldier in the fight against vandalism. Although I'm gutted Twinkle is not working for you, it feels so good to rollback a vandals changes and then click one tab to give him a pre-written warning!

Also I don't know if you know yet, there's is a glitch with AVT's rollback button. It doesn't work for me but apparently ticking the "Use non-admin rollback" in the filter options will fix it, it's ok tho as I use Twinkle's rollback function. ANy questions, just let me know mate. This template should be used only when needed. Do not add this template to every talk page.

It's thought that adding it to every talk pages loses its effect, which is why I removed it from Talk:Family Viewing Hour. How's it going? Yeah, it's been a while! I got the Mendy image from a user who posted some of the 1976 NBA Finals game on Youtube. I then did some cropping of the screen capture.

Case Closed

Please do not categorize it as detective fiction. This category is for the pages relevant to the genre as a whole (subgenres, etc). All particular instances (novels, stories, cartoons, anime, etc) are better categorized according to their media, thus Case Closed is in Category:Mystery anime and manga. i grant you that the two websites you cite declare two emmy wins for lynde, however, both appear to be kinda fan-krufty, and i question their reliability. after searching the databases of the emmys and the envelope please both show nominations, but neither has any record of any wins. ditto for imdb and amg. if he did indeed, win something, one should think that the emmy site would reflect that, and i'm inclined to regard that site as final arbiter. what say you? --emerson7 | Talk 04:11, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

"More sources" banner to Jeopardy!

Hi FamicomJL,

I noticed you added a "More sources" banner to the Jeopardy! article. It is customary, when adding Wikipedia maintenance templates to articles, to make one's specific concerns known on the talk page. It would be even more helpful if you were to add {{fact}} tags wherever within the article you see some nontrivial information presented as unsourced or improperly sourced. Banners added without discussion usually don't result in motivating improvement of articles and end up being deleted with no action taken on them. Thanks, Robert K S 06:02, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey, Famicom. Just curious, why did you say I stole that image of the $25,000 Pyramid title card? I cited my source just as I have cited my sources with the other images I have uploaded, didn't I? How was that thievery? I don't understand, and I want to understand so I don't make the same mistake again. I'm still learning what does and does not fly on Wikipedia.
