Could you take another look and see if you could make it more like other biographies? For example, the material under "Obituary" should be covered in the rest of the article. Overall, it's usually best to organize biographies chronologically. The material on his wife and children is probably excessive. The subject should be referred to by his last name, unless in the context of discussing other family members. Let me know if I can help. Will Beback talk 21:58, 16 September 2011 (UTC) September 2011Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Waterson, Berlin & Snyder, Inc. a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history. In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. A tag has been placed on Chas. H. Hansen Music Corp. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If one removed the bullets, they might even work as a prose, albeit with a rather bad flow. Still, the article's structure looks odd compared to similar sports biographies (or, indeed, biographies in general), as it mixes biographical facts, achievements and statistics. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 03:16, 22 December 2018 (UTC) DisographiesYou're making this much more difficult than it has to be. For example, the James Chirillo article. Why all the detail? Why do it your way rather than how the rest of Wikipedia does it? If you want work to do, there's plenty on the Cleanup Listing. Title of album, label, and year is sufficient for discographies. Don't put where the album was recorded in the discog. Please try to avoid the "as of" template. Don't use the header "Select discographies". ALL Wikipedia discographies are select discographies, and who are you to select? I see people use it to inflate the discographies as a means of promotion and praise. Don't add catalog numbers. Don't link the labels, musicians, venues, cities, etc. multiple times. Link them once the first time they occur. Don't put links or footnotes in headers. Don't link well known cities, states, countries, and geographical areas. Don't use horizontal lines. Don't use div col for only two or three items; use it only for a very long list. Keep in mind that readers have screens of different sizes. Less information is usually better. It's not a contest to see who can pack more information into a discography. Ask yourself who are your doing this for: the general reader or yourself. Ask yourself who the audience is for articles. This post may come off as excessively critical. But I see the same mistakes over and over. Editors need to do a better job of cooperating if any progress is going to be made. The most important part of an article is not the discography.

Removing Lynching of Irving and Herman ArthurI have responded to your query on my talkpage -- Thats Just Great (talk) 15:27, 17 July 2020 (UTC) Jack LathropI would like you to follow the format of the rest of Wikipedia when it comes to jazz articles. If this person is a jazz guitarist, why isn't he in the jazz project? The article was created nine years ago. Jack Lathrop was done with painstaking care, which is a nice change, but in a format that differs from other articles. I can make a long list of what needs to be corrected, but I suspect you already know some of them. I see no advantage in including OCLC links. One disadvantage is that I have to explain to IP editors the difference between these links and embedded links and proper references. Many times they either don't get it or don't care. It's difficult to get people to add references to articles, though this is something all of us learned in school a long time ago. I don't see know why there is an unsourced section for "compositions" (most of us call them "songs"), or why they are divided into pretty columns, or why there is a copyright "C" sign in each one. I don't know why there is an unsourced section about Family that reads like it was copied from a genealogy site. Wikipedia is not a genealogy site. I don't know why there are "br"s in the code. Or why there are so many headers and sub-heads. I don't know why matrix numbers and catalog numbers are included. I don't know why "as of" has been used when that's merely setting up someone else for work that's not necessary. I don't know why there is a "movie section" when he appeared in only one movie, as a guitarist in the Glenn Miller band. Have you ever read the rest of Wikipedia, and does it matter to you what what the rest of us are doing? I suggest you click on my name and read my User Page for more help.

The fact was ... that almost a century after African-American brothers Irving and Herman Arthur were burnt alive at a fairground in Paris, Texas, their names were listed on a lynching memorial? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lynching of Irving and Herman Arthur. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Lynching of Irving and Herman Arthur), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. The reader. The reader needs only enough information, quickly and clearly, to distinguish one term from another. When one reads a name on a disambig page, one shouldn't have the thought "But he's also this" or "He also did this" as though some great moral wrong were being corrected. The information is brief and limited for good reasons. The disambig page, like the lede of an article, isn't the place to list everything a person is or has done. Specificity is the whole point, not an insult. It's fast and useful. Ambiguous, open-ended praise isn't especially moral, and it's irrelevant to Wikipedia. It's slow and obfuscating and it reflects bias. Maybe it sends a thrill up your leg to say "African-American scholar" especially if the name in question is an idol, friend, relative, or symbol of all that is Good and True. My aim is more modest: to separate one term from another to help the reader. I can do it with two words: William Cole – jazz trumpeter, William Cole – jazz trombonist. On the subject of disambig pages, we have some rules of thumb.
I can see why you were confused by this entry. To me, it's not even written in English. Viriditas (talk) 08:25, 25 January 2022 (UTC) Feedback on Lou Nolan (artist)The article Lou Nolan (artist) is nearly unreadable. Please review Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography as well as WP:NOR, WP:PRIMARY, WP:IINFO and WP:NOTEVERYTHING: encyclopedia articles are not meant to be databases or repositories of all conceivable information on a subject, but tastefully presented summaries of subjects that have been significantly covered in secondary sources, in proportion to their prominence in secondary sources per WP:PROPORTION. Massively overly-intricate presentation aside, the article nearly entirely lacks reliable, secondary sources needed to demonstrate notablity: aside from Nolan's short obituary in the Washington Post, nearly everything is a primary source, passing mention, and or about other topics. If no one has yet written the definitive biography and catalogue of Nolan, Wikipedia is probably not the place to do so. Others have raised concerns about your citation style before. I strongly recommend avoiding convoluted and needlessly intricate citations, especially ones that shoehorn extraneous editorial/biographical content about the author. Please take this as constructive criticism. Cheers, --Animalparty!
