Hi mate, Thanks for your message. In answer to your points:

  • The Football League Trophy stats are included so I have added this to the list of competitions.
  • Aren't the Watney and Anglo-Scottish Cups pre-season friendly tournaments - if so, should I just make a note that they are not included in the stats?)
  • I plan to remove the nationalities from the notes column - I was keeping them there so I could remember the nationalities of players without articles, with the intention of filling in the redlinks.
  • Thanks for the info about Gibbon and and Price, which I will add to the article.

Anglo-Italian Cup

Hello. To be honest, I genuinely don't see the point of removing the information. It explains a pretty basic part of the A-I Cup's history, i.e the background to why it was set up in the first place, in 3 sentences. And for the sake of 3 sentences in an article that hasn't got enough prose anyway, we shouldn't really be sending the reader off to another article: they might never come back :-) Though I agree it's a bit woffly. How about:

From 1967, a place in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup was awarded to the Football League Cup winners,[1] but that season's winners, Queens Park Rangers, could not take up their place because UEFA did not at that time allow third-tier teams to compete in the Fairs Cup.[2][3] When the same situation arose two years later with Swindon Town, a two-legged match against that year's Coppa Italia winners, A.S. Roma, was organised by way of compensation.[2][4] Following the popularity of that event, dubbed the Anglo-Italian League Cup,[2] ...

re: Mexican club franchise changes

Hello Eldumpo. I have edited Mexican football pages in the past, but my comprehension of Spanish is weak and I don't feel very comfortable that I understand the movement of clubs. That said, the FMF website provides some good summaries which might answer your questions. According to this page, the current "Atlante UTN" franchise is the former "Potros de Hierro del Atlante" who were based in Chetumal before 2009. It's clear that this is not the Potros Neza club of the past, but the page only says it played in Nezahualcoyotl in 2002-2004 before moving to Chetumal. (Who knows where it started or from what franchise?) If you have a look around the www.femexfut.org.mx website, you can see profiles for all of the Liga de Ascenso clubs with history pages like the one above. I hope this helps.
