Are you happy with what has gone on recently regarding Kayastha origins? It does seem to reflect the source. I must also apologise for taking so long to copy over that piece from the Kulin Kayastha article as per our discussion on the talk page. Thanks for this courtesy. Since both the sentences regarding the "mixed caste" have been considered now, I believe, we are just quoting what the source says, and there is no selective quoting. Though, if one goes through the source, you have a feeling that 'Sudra' term is loosely used in order to denote lower castes (castes other than Brahmins). But then, that would obviously be my interpretation. I am OK with your recent changes regarding origins. Thanks for incorporating the piece from Kulin Kayastha. Reverting changes made to Kayastha page

Hello friend, I got a notification that you reverted the change made by me to the Kayastha page. This is to inform that I am presently working upon the Orphaned articles and due to this, I thought Kayastha Kshatriyas refer to Kayastha Rajputs(a page) and so, I thought to link up both. I understand what you tried to mean, but this is incorrect. Also, it makes the statement ambiguous. I have gone through your Kayastha Rajputs article, the material is unsourced. Regarding the karuneegar page

The entire content of the article Karuneegar was completely unsourced. We do not accept original research. You need to follow our policies on reliable sources, please read WP:RS. Such websites, like the one you have cited, promoted by the community itself, is not considered as reliable, you have to look for text references, and that too reliable ones. For example, if you go through the article on Kayastha, you will find that each and every statement is reliably sourced and the references are categorically mentioned. Its not just me, any other editor reviewing the page, or any administrator will again remove all such statements, if these are incorporated without citing valid references. Like User:Qwyrxian had done before. Therefore, if you actually want to improve the article, find proper sources (not a website on Karuneegar, which is nothing but WP:OR) and discuss the statements you wish to incorporate, along with valid references. Bengali Kayastha

Please read WP:OWN. You are effectively a single-purpose account for the Kayastha articles and it is all getting a bit much. - Sitush (talk) 19:09, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Sitush, you are well aware that I do take care of a number of caste articles, and not just Kayastha. Like you do; the only difference being you take ownership of thousands of articles, and that's precisely the reason why we have such respect for you. Therefore WP:OWN applies for you as well, though none of us is actually the owner of any article. Please discuss on the article's talk page, if you have any concern regarding that particular section. I have explained that this is the consensus version and all other editors were active when this section was incorporated. Such a major edit cannot be unilateral. Thanks. Please check the Revision history. All other editors who got involved after the copyright issue was raised by Drmies, were active at that point of time. In fact, Joshua Jonathan, who was the other major contributor, has edited the page after incorporation of that section. Similarly, Xanthomelanoussprog, who was also involved, edited the article. Ekdalian, you have had problems with copyright violations before and your solution was to fill the place with quotations, which is equally unacceptable. If you are unable to paraphrase sources and make judicious use of quotations if necessary then I'm afraid Wikipedia is really not the place for you. I'm seriously thinking that it might be necessary to trawl through all of your efforts because the copyright situation seems not to be sinking in. - Sitush (talk) 17:33, 26 November 2014 (UTC)

Gayen

How was it vandalism this time? I added a group of categories, which included some very obvious ones such as Bengali and Indian surnames. The pictures too are original, and do not violate any policy I know of. If you find any problems with the article, remove them specifically. Please do not revert the entire article to it's original diminutive form. I've been spending a lot of valuable time into the making of this article, please do not constantly disrupt my attempts, as long as they follow the policies. I understand your concern, but please be more specific while removing parts of the article.— Preceding unsigned comment added by VishwajeetGain (talk • contribs)

VishwajeetGain, you have violated the basic spirit of Wikipedia, apart from our policies. You are here not to help us build an encyclopedia, but to promote puffery and misinformation about Gayen. Let me be very specific, why did you remove the 'refimprove' tag? Do you know its significance? You are a specific agenda editor and new to Wikipedia. Do you know about the reliability and validity of the sources you have used? Also, in spite of removed by the bot and several warnings, you have incorporated that image repeatedly, which amounts to copyright violation. These are gross violation of our policies. The article needs to be build from scratch by neutral editors, even the last best version is full of misinformation/puffery and poor sources, to say the least.

Prior to that, you have indulged in vandalism across multiple articles (purposely as an IP editor) adding Gayen as a Kayastha surname (you know it does not belong to Kayastha caste), and you have later acknowledged it. For further discussion, use the article's talk page, Talk:Gayen. Ekdalian (talk) 10:18, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

I understand, and won't make further attempts to associate Gayen with any particular caste. My intention wasn't puffery as you have stated, rather an assumption made based on hearsay, which I have now rectified in the article. However, I still don't understand the necessity of removing the images, along with other parts of the articles such as the added categories- Bengali and Indian surnames (of which Gayen is very much a part), and the 'See also' section providing a link to Prof. A. K. Gayen, founder of Vidyasagar University, and the 'surname' tag at the end of the article. I have also tried to provide sources to most of the paragraphs, including the information on the Gayen castle, and the Gayen estate. I will add more sources soon, such as for the conversion to Christianity. I have added that since I myself belong to the christian Gayen family and have knowledge of it's historical role in missionary in Bangladesh. If you find any parts of the articles which you don't think should be there, please inform me. Also, please do not undo all the edits I have made, as many legitimate parts of the articles were being removed as a consequence.
