I did not know you can withdraw a tender. I thought you either sign it or you sign with another team and your old team gets comp. picks. Ositadinma20:30, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
It's almost like releasing a restricted free agent from being restricted in a way. It's the same with the franchise/transition tags. When Corey Simon was with the Eagles, they applied the franchise tag to him after the 2004 season. He wasn't happy with it and the Eagles lifted the tag before he signed it (here). Good to know, I am glad cuz Brown sucked last year and with Grant in the lineup (never missed a game in a 9 year NFL career) our secondary got extremely better with Rolle and possibly Phillips playing again. So there is no excuse for D. Jackson to beat us deep. :) Ositadinma20:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the late response (I was asleep when you posted this), but anyway, admins and some non-admins close MfDs either after seven days have passed, or sometimes sooner if there is already consensus. Eagles24/7(C)19:04, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I know numerous users told me not to add unnecessary details. I'm sorry. Do you know what's limit of info when I'm editing? When I'm editing, I try my best to figure out if I'm adding unnececessary details. How am I supposed to know which is unnecessary details? Can you give me examples of unnecessary details? --99.88.78.94 (talk) 02:15, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
When I edited article Disturbia(film), I said Kale punched his teacher because teacher asked, "What would your dad think?" Isn't it necessary for me to add that detail? --99.88.78.94 (talk) 02:15, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Hey Eagle, you probably already did, but checking the history of this user's talk page is instructive. They have a tendency to blank their talk page, esp. vandalism warnings (there's a nice collection of 'em there). Also, you may respond to them, but seeing as they have for instance been told a dozen times how to sign their messages, there may not be much of a point. Hello! You are listed as an active member of the College Football Project! We have a large number of unreferenced biographies of living persons, but it works out to be just two or three articles per active participant. I've divided up the articles that need help and put them in a table on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College football/Unreferenced BLPs. Please assist the project by researching and sourcing the articles that have been "assigned" (so to speak) to you.--Paul McDonald (talk) 02:48, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
As a fellow member of the College Football project, I noticed that you have been removing your assignments from the table once completed. I would invite you to consider doing this: name of completed player and Completed once all are done.Let the other project members see and enjoy what you've done--Hokeman (talk) 17:55, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Paul McDonald put at the top of the table: "When you've completed adding sources, please remove the article from this table." Maybe you should add the message above to the top of the table so other users follow your suggestion and consistency is gained. Eagles24/7(C)18:40, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Capture of Tucson clearly did occur in 1862, the city changed hands. The fact is presented in all accounts of Arizona's history (cf. Tucson: The Life and Times of an American City
By C. L. Sonnichsen [1] page 61 ...), but is it worth of a separate article besides History of Tucson, Arizona ? no comment on other "hoaxes" mentioned. East of Borschov (talk) 02:46, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
The only reason I thought it was a hoax was because it was created by a now-indef blocked sockpuppet of another indef blocked user. It was a battle during the Civil War, so I guess it deserves a separate article. Eagles24/7(C)03:06, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
So I've discovered. Btw, I know the barnstar says Userpage shield, but I'm not sure if there is a talk page one. I should probably go have a look. - JuneGloom07Talk? 22:07, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
I don't think one exists. I think they should change the name of this barnstar to "The Userspace Shield" so it can apply to userpages, user talk pages, subpages, etc. Eagles24/7(C)22:10, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Not sure, if you're planning on updating the templates with undrafted FAs but here are three really good places to find the signings since Rotoworld doesn't report them:
Hi, to let you know my position on this is that external links are not references. And if they can be used for both purposes then they should be marked accordingly. Regards, SunCreator(talk)15:15, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
The template said "This biography of a living person does not cite any references or sources." (emphasis added) External links are sources, and a different template should have been used instead. Eagles24/7(C)16:47, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Deleting NFL team articles
You said that the preseason doesn't count as playing in the professional level. Can a player page be made if he makes the PS? RevanFan (talk) 00:29, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Sadly, no. If he makes the active roster, you can create the page for him. I don't necessary agree, but that's what was decided. Eagles24/7(C)02:20, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
I don't know why, but that kinda makes me angry. Anyway, I don't get it. I was allowed to create a page for Herb Donaldson when he was on the PS. It never got put up for deletion and is just getting more people adding onto it. Is there any way I can put that rule up for debate? RevanFan (talk) 02:48, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
I started a discussion about that in November (here), and nothing was really changed. Right now there is an RfC about WP:ATH at WT:BIO, but it's such a long thread and I have no idea what the result is/was. Participate there if you want to debate the PS players, but the guidelines are pretty lenient right now in regards to NFL requirements. Some people even wanted to change the requirements so that only players who played an entire season get articles. Eagles24/7(C)02:58, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Ehh...it depends if I (or someone else) who will strictly enforce the decision at AfD sees it, the article will get nominated. At this point, I don't care enough to nominate Donaldson but if I see an UDFA article I'll nominate (only at the end of camp for me, right now would be too hard to get it through AfD without the full understanding of UDFAs by non-NFL editors).--Giants27(Contribs|WP:CFL) 01:20, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Infobox NFLactive
Is there a reason why you changed |currentposition=Linebacker to |currentpositionplain=[[Linebacker]]here? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. --bender235 (talk) 10:20, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
Pretty much the same reason you removed the |finalyear, |finalteam, |deathdate and |deathplace fields. It makes no difference to the appearance of the infobox and we both just have different preferences on how the infobox should look code-wise. You can change it back if you would like, but it really makes no difference. Eagles24/7(C)19:05, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
There is one major difference between what you did and what I did. My edit reduced the amount of code, by deleting parameters that would've been void anyway, while your edit replaced a standard parameter with the longer work-around version, which—sorry for repeating myself—makes no sense at all. --bender235 (talk) 22:19, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
The currentposition thing allows for the position to be potentially pipe-linked if necessary or to have two positions listed at the same time. If the player were to be an RB at the beginning of his career and then get a shot at being a kick returner it saves time if that happens. And since the result is the same either way it's not like it's crystal balling to use the |currentpositionplain= format.
The |deathdate stuff is there to be filled in when the player retires or potentially dies. These fields also sort of serve as "free promotion" for the fact the NFLactive now handles retired players and coaches.
That's the best way to describe it and the only reasons I can come up with for why the majority of NFL editors (including myself) do it. Cheers,--Giants27(Contribs|WP:CFL) 02:45, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Nevermind it was an typo on your part. How can you get Kafka's number wrong since you worked so hard on his article. :) Ositadinma20:57, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
