Please don't create pages for undrafted rookies if they are not notable enough. Some of the players released today should never have been created in the first place and might end up being deleted if they never make it pro. Thanks.►Chris NelsonHolla!17:56, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
(ec) You may want to see WP:BIO and WP:ATHLETE along with WP:GNG for info if people are notable. An easy way to see if they're notable is to go to the google news archives to see if there are multiple feature stories on the guy. And as a side note I'd advise against creating those coaches unless they have "significant coverage". Cheers,--Giants27 (c|s) 19:55, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, but...
Hi, I appreciate you're hard work at articles like Ryan Neill (beating me to it by mere seconds) but in January and February me and User:Chrisjnelson, agreed to a deal on who updates the player pages since we're two of the more common ones. And as you can tell from thediscussions it was decided between the two of us that whoever updates the respectibe roster template will update the respective player page(s), however they only have a 30 minute window to complete the edits (unless a page needs to be created in which case it's an hour). If they don't complete it within the time period, anyone can make the changes. The reason I bring this up is because you seem to be an active editor in the player pages area, and figured it was a good idea to bring it up to you. Thanks and by no means does this mean I want you to stop, whether you agree or disagree it doesn't bother me at all.--Giants27 (c|s) 22:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Okay, let me get this thing straight. The person who edits a player page can edit it for up to 30 minutes without someone else editing it. After those 30 minutes after the first edit has passed, anyone can edit it. Am I correct? Eagles24/719:26, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh, wait I get it now. If I want to edit a player page, I first have to edit the roster template for that player's respective team. Thanks, Eagles24/719:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
It's not problem. We're not trying to own the page, it's just that we all seem to monitor the same NFL sites and see the transactions around the same times, so we're trying to avoid the inevitable edit conflicts by allowing the person that first makes the edit to follow through with the whole thing. Hope that's cool.►Chris NelsonHolla!19:41, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Hey, when you make a transaction on the roster template (like with Pizzotti) please put something in the edit summary like "QB Chris Pizzotti re-signed" that way if we're looking through the history for a specific transaction, we can find it more easily.
Yeah it's not really for informing readers, but rather just for us. That way if it's 81 or 79 or whatever (something not the exact limit) we know to look out for another transaction.►Chris NelsonHolla!20:13, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
