My RFAHi Dwaipayanc/Archive 7, Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future. Cheers Srikeit(talk ¦ ✉) 09:27, 13 May 2006 (UTC) SA\SACsHi, I read through the pages you gave but am still not sure what you want me to do. Thanks. Saravask 21:11, 13 May 2006 (UTC) superthanksHi Dwaipayanbhai - I'm very sorry to have disappointed your expectation in me, but it had become impossible for me to compromise my principles. I don't covet adminship at all, so it wasn't a difficult decision - I simply cannot accept misrepresentation and nonsense. However, I cannot tell you how greatly joyous I feel at the enthusiastic, wonderful support you expressed for me. I don't know how hard it will be to understand that your supports means extremely a lot to me. I thank you from my heart, and please let me know if I can ever be assistance or help in anything. Thanks
Hi Dwaipayanc, thanks for supporting my request for adminship! Unfortunately, it ended with a final tally of 45/15/2, no consensus. I may have another go in the near future, once the school year is over. Thanks again! -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 23:00, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Hey Dwaipayanc. Apologies for the late reply. I think the article is ready for a peer review. The only major work left in my eyes is creating an article on Municipal Corporation of Delhi and New Delhi Municipal Council. Any suggestions?? Cheers --Incman|वार्ता 00:10, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I get your point regarding the disadvantages of having so many subsections. Below is a new layout in accordance with the guidelines of WikiProject Indian cities: ==Origin of name== ==History== ==Geography== ===Climate=== ===Urban structure=== ==Government and politics== ==Economy== ==Demographics== ==Culture== includes combined subsections art, festivals, cuisine and shopping. Will create new article on Shopping in Delhi and merge Markets in Delhi with it. ==Utilities and media== ==Transport== ==Sports== ==Education== However, I still prefer the present layout. I was going through the culture section in Kolkatta article and realized that it too had separate paras on cuisine, festivals etc. Subsections help organize the artcile making it easier to read. The culture section in the Kolkatta article is too long and if it was divided into subsections, it would have been easier for a common reader to go through the article and find the topic of interest. For example, if I want to know about Kolkatta's cuisine, I don't have to go through each and every para in the culture section to find info on cuisine. Also, it is highly probable, that since I don't find cuisine in the contents list, I won't read the article and instead find info on cuisine on several other articles on the internet on Kolkatta. Besides, one should be smart enough to know that cuisine is a part of city's culture. Thanks --Incman|वार्ता 00:47, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
My friendI would really appreciate your comments on Schatzki ring and Fundic gland polyposis when you get a chance. Thanks, and sorry you didn't get a chance to get the Kala azar question on WP:PINQ. -- Samir धर्म 05:06, 17 May 2006 (UTC) I noticed that you left a comment at the project, but unfortunately at the wrong page. You left your comment at the talk page of the General Forum subpage, but actually comments related to the project are supposed to go into the GeneralForum subpage itself. The talk page is kept for discussing the mechanics of the GeneralForum, not matters related to the project in general. Loom91 07:31, 17 May 2006 (UTC) Hey, thanks. Let's discuss a better name, but I don't think there is reason to dispute what happened. Rama's Arrow 18:35, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Portal:IndiaHi, I am quite saddened by the state of Portal:India as nobody seems to care about it. I am assuming the role of supervising the selection of Selected Articles, Today's Selected articles, etc. for the portal and will continue till there are enough people to start things going by consensus. I feel that this step of mine is essestial as currently the portal is orphaned and leaving it as such would hurt its featured portal status. You seem to be the only other person interested in the portal and I would be glad to work with you towards making it THE BEST portal on Wikipedia. I've been working on the article based on the suggestions including yours that came up at the PR. I just wanted to clarify something. RequestHey. Im one of the new guys and I have an interest in some of your articles. I am doing a biography on the life of frederick barbarossa I, meaning redbeard. I ckecked wikipedia articles which were good but there wasn't much info on his daily life and not even on other search engines. If you or any other wikipedians had the time to write an article on him that would be truly great. Cya, 10widdse. interesting article.--Dangerous-Boy 17:45, 23 May 2006 (UTC) Anti-reservation ProtestsHi, A lot of material already exists in Reservation in India. I added a lot of info to it as well as to the Reservation policy in IITs article. I believe that most of the protest related material exists in them. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 19:19, 23 May 2006 (UTC) RayJust in case u missed my response on my talk page, peer review sounds a good thing. I am on a wikibreak as far as editing goes, but it will be nice to know what peers have to say. I hope you'll be able to get enough people commenting on it so that a constructive guideline is achieved. thanks,--ppm 19:19, 23 May 2006 (UTC) Rethanks, maybe more links to articles would give the people the background needed, right ? ashankar —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashankar (talk • contribs) Anti-reservation protestsWhich img do you think should I put on the Main Page? I don't wish for any of the information within to be lost however, I realized the enormous amount of work it will take to integrate it all into relevent places in other articles. Therefore I felt like only an AFD would motivate contributors to do this. That being said, you could move this imformation into the talk page of the Kolkata main article or into a subpage of that article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolkata/trivia) or in your user space. I also included to guides written by wikipedians on integrating trivia into articles within my nomination. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The stuart (talk • contribs) .
Anti-reservation protestsWow, I hadn't realized that it had developed to that extent... I caught a quick article on Canadian news at the time of the IIT Bombay hunger strike. Good luck on your exams! Someone else nominated TS for peer review, and I didn't/don't feel it was/is ready just yet -- there is still more I want to do with it, and I am waiting for other editors to be available, and I'd like to see it receive a medical peer review by Wiki physicians. On the lead (and other pending issues), I am waiting for some editors who are on "Wikibreak" to be available to help, as it seemed to me (perhaps wrongly?) that leads on some of the featured medical articles are a bit different than on other kinds of articles. Also, the timing of the peer review caught me by surprise as I'm stretched really thin until I complete some travel in mid-June. I'm not really sure what is meant by me "wrapping up the review now" ... I'm not sure how I would do that, or if it is I that should do that (since I didn't nominate it for peer review)? (I'm still fairly new to Wikipedia.) Any advice you can give me is welcome ... TIA. Sandy 00:33, 28 May 2006 (UTC) IndiaDwaipayan, I dont understand why you are ready to accept their silly statements that India was not there historically , was a british creation etc etc. 1.If India was not there historically, then to which place were the european countries in the 14th and 15th century , trying to find the sea route ?? 2. Why did columbus name the natives of America as "indians"??? 3. As coming to our national identities, we see it as a land where our dharmic traditions rule.(for eg. Sankaracharya establishing his four 'math's at four corners of our nation etc). Surely sankaracharya did this before the arrival of brutish "saviours". I can list such examples on and on . But i wonder why ppl like you so readily accept this "so called " facts .Bharatveer 07:22, 28 May 2006 (UTC) image problemImage:Candlelightmarch.JPG is a cc-by-nc-2.5 licence which is not allowed on Wikipedia. --Nichalp 07:56, 28 May 2006 (UTC) Mauthausen-GusenThanks for your support. South Indian CultureI see that you have created the article South Indian culture.Dont you think this should be a part of a bigger article Indian Culture. ?? Pls give your views on this. Bharatveer 13:50, 30 May 2006 (UTC) If your point is in portraying the incredible diversity, then i think seperate articles for kerala culture , tamizh culture and andhra culture should be there instead of this whole South Indian Culture. My opinion is that it would be better if it is kept as a part of the article indian culture . As for suggestion to go to the other user's talk page , i dont think any thing would come of it as he is very obsessed with the german word "weltanschaaung" .Bharatveer 14:33, 30 May 2006 (UTC) Re: Reservation etcYeah, I went through the Mandal Commission. Nicely done! But, in my opinion, the point-wise arguments in reservation is better for the reservation article. Still, It just seems to attract a lot of poor edits, so I think we should keep an eye on that to maintain its quality. siddharth 17:19, 30 May 2006 (UTC) ISROHi, Dwaipayanc, recently someone has edited the ISRO article on the Indian space programme - alegedly to reformat it - but as of right now, half of the article seems to be missing, and I am not sure why this would be neccecary to edit it - the only addition this person has made is not perticularily relevent to an article which was pretty good before. Ive notaced that you have reverted other articles automatically, which I dont know how to do, so I was wondering if you could revert the ISRO article to the last unvandalised edit, if it is still in this state when you recieve this message - 06:46, 30 May 2006 Ejvyas (→History) - seems to be the edit that changed the article. Re:PlansHi Dwaipayan - thanks for your compliments - it is indeed a long-awaited, moment of happiness right now! I've already nominated IIT and Patel for WP:TFA. Right now Sukh and myself are working to make Sikhism an FA. I was a bit disappointed that Pournami and co. dropped K. R. Narayanan's FA drive (for whatever reasons). I know about South India and Delhi - there are many in a good position. Plus, it is Shreshth's dream that his hard work on Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles and Fundamental Duties of India results in FA status. Your help is especially needed on the latter as Shreshth himself is pressed for time - Ambuj and I are trying to solve some of the outstanding issues. I just discovered the happy convenience of picking up a book or two from my local library and writing an FA on the subject. Its an absolutely magnificent way of learning a wide array of subjects very well. Even though June will be extremely, extremely important and busy for my priority work and main pursuits, I hope that I will churn out at least 1 FA a week from now on - which is a better rate than ever!
