there are still a couple of books. I'll try to get information about them. Tarif from Bangladesh 12:45, 23 June 2007 (UTC) Re: the following neededHi, beginning with an apology. I am sorry that I haven't been too hands on in improving the article. And, well, congratulations on the great work. With Ragib mostly and Nirav totally inactive it must have been one hell of a tough job. I have taken a look at you questions to Tarif, and I guess I can answer a few. Here goes:
Keep the good work going. Finally, I have some new comments to make based on the books I have gone through (including the the History of Bangladesh published by the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, the same people who published the Banglapedia) shows serious gaps in information. I am posting on the FAC page. Cheers. Aditya Kabir 14:44, 23 June 2007 (UTC) sorry for latesorry I was offline for couple of hours and couldn't supply those info to you. Hopefully I am on now. Anything more to do? Tarif from Bangladesh 17:58, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
1...I did not manage to get info about the Kobir book. But I have given citation to the same information that the book is linked with. In fact the Azad citation which I have given is the most reliable source for the incident of February 21(specially). Bashir Al Helal mentioned that every author followed the report of Azad in describing the incidents of February 21 and he himself simply copy-pest the report straightaway in his book . So we are safe to use this and you can delete the citation of the book. I will include that if I can get those info later. 2...A mistake is done as the proceedings at the parliament on February 21 are placed under the heading February 22. Banglapedia must be wrong about it. Not to be confused with the fact that proceedings did actually went on both of the days, the particular which is talked about in the article is actually occured on February 21. I have also given the citation of that. 3... I have discussed about Ohiullah and Salauddin on FAC page. Please read that and take your measures. Now If you excuse me, I can go to bed. Thanks. Tarif from Bangladesh 22:32, 23 June 2007 (UTC) Cool!Have a look at the Oldenburg pages that Ragib bhai gave. It's great. Tarif from Bangladesh 10:50, 24 June 2007 (UTC) What I've got
Ok, this could be found at Bashir Al Helal's book from pp.604-609. I have cited that in the article.
May be I can find some of these, I'll let you know when I am done. Regards Tarif from Bangladesh 09:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
I may find a few more. I'll keep trying. Ragib bhai asked I would suggest checking Google news archive search feature, and searching US/UK newspapers of 1952 (which may call it Riot in Pakistan / dacca etc.) You can try this too. Thanks. Tarif from Bangladesh 10:12, 24 June 2007 (UTC) Unspecified source for Image:Chang.gifThanks for uploading Image:Chang.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged. As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 11:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Non-free use disputed for Image:Allan.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Allan.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 16:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC) Good job, but...Well, forgive me for playing the devil's advocate, and actually making little contribution. But, the expanded part of the legacy section on Language movement, although very nice and, to my knowledge, accurate as well, seems to be poorly sourced/cited/referenced. While Amar Bahiaer Rokte Rangano may pass as common knowledge, the rest may not have advantage to claim the same. That was the reason I kept that part simple and without much detail. May be Tarif can help citing some references there. Cheers. Aditya Kabir 17:35, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
citation for poems and songsi'll try to get citation for poems and songs. Regards. Tarif from Bangladesh 18:54, 24 June 2007 (UTC) Copyediting startedDwaipayan, copyediting has started. Please keep an eye. I saw the the part proposal created discontent, this may be ok. But we should keep in touch. Sweet dreams. Gone to reviewI have put myself for an editor review at Wikipedia:Editor review/Aditya Kabir. Check. Aditya Kabir 05:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC) Image:Chang.gifI have tagged Image:Chang.gif as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. no problemHello, don't worry about the Language Movement edit conflict, I rewrote a lot of the article, and some of my rewrites mirror what you had changed. I'll try to look at the article later. Please let me know what you think of my changes. --Kyoko 21:27, 1 July 2007 (UTC) Non-free use disputed for Image:NeenaGupta1.jpg

So do you stay at cal? -- PlaneMad|YakYak 14:40, 4 July 2007 (UTC) Thank you for adding more refs to the article! Apart from needing a copy-edit and perhaps a reduction in size, could you please give your opinion on what is needed on the talk page of the article. Addressing your concerns would make it one step closer to FA. Thanks! GizzaDiscuss © 02:03, 5 July 2007 (UTC) Darjeeling photosSorry, I haven't taken any school photo. Just wanted to let you know that I have extensively copy-edited the National Institutes of Technology article. I have made several language fixes and I was also successful in finding some authoritative references. Please have a look at the article and its talk page when you get a minute. Regardless, I don't feel like it matters significantly enough to oppose, though I haven't read the article to support, so unless I do get around to reading it, I'll stay mute on the FAC. However, regarding my concern, why is it that the dates are in such a disarray. Some of the dates are not wikilinked, some the dates are wikilinked, but force the user to view it as DD Month, and some of the dates are wikilinked and allow the date preferences to figure itself out. This seems to me that the editors of the article has no understanding of why dates are wikilinked. Pepsidrinka 13:28, 7 July 2007 (UTC) reply of new concernsDwaipayan da, please give a comment on changing the article name (again!) proposed by Kyoko. I'll try to solve your UF concern by tomorrow. Regards --Tarif from Bangladesh 20:11, 7 July 2007 (UTC) HelloHi Dwaipayan, Have not been contributing to wikipedia for a while. Maybe I ll have more free time from September. Till then, I m merely putting up fair use rationale on images I uploaded, and doing minor edits. ray 20:06, 8 July 2007 (UTC) Wikilink datesI've wikilinked all the dates according to your suggestion. But I have a couple of question to you-- 1. Should we link the same date all the time? Or may be one for each year (e.g. If 1954 has two, should we link one or both). 2. Some places years are also linked. Should we link the others or remove link from them? Please look into those and provide answers to me or probably can you take initiatives to solve these. I have asked Trusilver to have a look at the article on Wednesday. And he said that thinks the article has reached FA status now. He also made some fixes with sentences. By the way, last year on 15 July I sent an email to bangla-wiki group to promote the article to an FA. And after 364 days we're waiting for the decision. I know you can imagine my ecstasy if we get it. But if we don't I would still be happy. Because through this article I had the privilege to work wonderful people like you. I could not ask for anything more. Bye --Tarif from Bangladesh 05:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
TagoreHi. Do you have time to comment on this edit? Does Tagore even have a nationality, or is that OR? Is "Bengali" a valid nationality? I'm not sure how to edit the article to avoid future confusion regarding Tagore's status. Thanks. I feel there is need to do so for the Highlights column of Portal:Current events/India. Similarly, the Main Page cannot be edited. Editing of news from Portal:India should be stopped. In view of the interference now going on in Portal:India news column, I am stopping updating of Highlights column in Portal:Current events/India. I am continuing to update the daily news column. GA review of Religion in IndiaHi, i reviewed the article and found that there has been significant work on the article from your end. As much as there was work, i strongly believe there is a lot more potential left on the table and that is the main reason why I failed the GA for lack of comprehensive-ness in the article. This is no way a representation of your efforts, just that the topic under consideration is very vast. I believe that the topic is FA-worthy and if you work on this for somemore time, you shall reach the level. Ping me in case you want addln feedback. --Kalyan 11:13, 16 July 2007 (UTC) |
