I found some links with very reliable sources, including some with director himself, but i am having some big problems with editing, mostly with references. So, if you could check what i did and help me out as soon as you can, and possibly give me some advice, i would be very grateful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Ryder (talk • contribs) 16:07, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
Youtube links are for; clips from making of documentary with interviews with director and producer where they mention much of the stuff i added in article, Q&A video with both of them talking about the movie, deleted scenes from the movie (some with commentary by director). I removed wiki link and asked in talk and history pages if anyone can edit the article in better way, my main concern is that References list is too big. If nobody responds anytime soon, i think i'll ask NinjaRobotPirate to take a look at it because i like the way he edited stuff that i added on Nighthawks (1981) article. Thank you so much for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Ryder (talk • contribs) 17:00, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
Hey there, on one of the imdb message boards i found a copy of the e-mail that one of the special effects artists who worked on Event Horizon send to some fan of the movie who was asking about deleted scenes. I think that this e-mail could be viewed as reliable source but i wanted to ask you would something like that be O.K to add (because of the rules and stuff) and for permission to add it along with some more info about deleted footage in Event Horizon article before i do anything. Sources for that movie is everywhere, in the future please add a source instead of removing the film. If you can not find a source allow the editor a few days. Thanks. List of fictional ElementsI can understand why you removed my entries for Star Wars and Star Trek entries into the list (no citation, only a link to another article). And I thanks you for that. Although I still fail to understand why you removed my entries such as Khorium, Elementium (which I intended to add an additional citation for from another book) and Octrion; but kept my entries such as Adamantite and Thaum (for example) which where citied from the same books as Octiron and Khorium for example. would be thankful for a swift reply. Maybe you can fill up that section with more information. Read critically. Besides the fact I grew up bordering the Lawrence school district and know people who went to school with him, it does say he grew up in Lawrence and the reference quotes the article in question... But I will spell it out for those that need it to be like that. Postcard Cathy (talk) 04:57, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for reaching out to me regarding my edits to the plot summary of Lock Up (film). I am OK with the reversion, although I thought I was contributing constructively to the article in question. Two paragraphs in the plot had significant run-on sentences, so I corrected those and figured since I was already making edits, I'd reorganize the summary. I saw the movie a long time ago, and recently watched it again on iTunes, so it was fresh in my head. I concede that I didn't do a word count comparison between the version I was editing vs. the version I saved, but when I view the edit history, I see the difference was 574 bytes. If you consider the average word length being about 5 characters, my summary was about 115 words longer, which doesn't seem overly significant. I certainly don't want to get into edit-warring, but would certainly like a better understanding of why you felt that I added unnecessary detail. I didn't really add that much more detail; I just reorganized a lot of the information. As the article stands now, the third plot paragraph ends with this sentence: "Dallas offers to help Leone escape to warn Melissa but instead delivers Leone to the utility basement right into Drumgoole's hands where he finds out that Drumgoole wanted him to try to escape so he would receive a mandatory 10-year sentence for the second escape attempt and the inmate who was going to rape Melissa was just a corrupt prison guard called Mastrone who was part of the warden's scheme to set Leone up." It's a monster with no punctuation. The next paragraph ends with a sentence that's also a monster, although not quite as bad. Msawyer91 (talk) 17:25, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
Invitation to discuss a proposal of year by film releaseYou're invited to join a discussion here. It's about a proposal about an idea of having film by year articles made and produced by certain countries, such as [[2013 in films in United States of America]], [[2013 in films in England]] and such. Children's novels about animalsI'd like to thank you for creating this category. I have been thinking about it myself as I've been populating the Novels about animals category and was uneasy about the imbalance. I'd also considered a category for novels about anthropomorphic animals – I'd be interested to hear what you think. I wanted to let you know that I am taking Felix Salten's Bambi, a Life in the Woods back into Novels about animals – it was written for adults, as you can see from the article, and despite many adaptations, the original novel should not be classified as for children. Lawrence of Arabia (film)You removed my additions because I didn't give references, but many of the interesting "facts" already there are given without references. Is there a double standard? Garfield Garfield
