One question

I added small cell lung cancer into category of rare diseases, as per National Organization for Rare Disorders. I am surprised nobody added this earlier, but it's never too late. Why is it now showing up on this page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Rare_diseases — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.199.110.74 (talk) 19:00, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was redirected to lung cancer by Rewster (talk · contribs) in 2006 and then to small cell carcinoma by TadejM (talk · contribs) in 2010.--🐦DrWho42 (🔨) 19:12, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

Hello. I noticed that your signature is hard to read. According to this contrast calculator, your contrast ratio is 3.567, well below the minimum 4.5 suggested in the WP:SIGAPP policy. This is an accessibility issue. Would you consider fixing this? My suggestion: ―🐦DoctorWho42 🔨Mandruss  18:31, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Doctor Who Survival.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Doctor Who Survival.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:31, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

"Double Dog Dare" listed at Redirects for discussion

A discussion is taking place to address the redirect Double Dog Dare. The discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 January 16#Double Dog Dare until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 08:26, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:2004 web series endings requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Dear DoctorWho42,

You're invited to a zoom call, taking place on February 11, with the goal of improving the article on Los Angeles to Featured article status! I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Hope to see you there—if you're interested, add your name here!

Welcome & Question on Next Steps

Thank you DoctorWho42 for your kind message welcoming me to the Wikipedia editing community. I greatly appreciate it and am excited to be here. I posted suggested updates to the Change.org talk pages in December and was wondering what the appropriate next steps are. Is this something you might be able to help me with or advise on? I'm unclear as to whom would actually review my proposal and make the adjustments. Should I pull them through directly and just include all the required citations and disclosers regarding my affiliation or should I just wait for someone to voluntarily assess and apply the edits? I want to ensure I fully follow and respect Wikipedia editing guidelines and welcome any guidance you can offer. ElleLinElle (talk) 18:20, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User talk:Gurmail gela, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I'm curious as to your reason for welcoming dynamic IPs months after they've made an edit (e.g. here, for example). The person who made that edit will never see the message. Notice

The file File:Catbird drawing (15 August 2016).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal file. Out of scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:35, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned file talk pages

Hello, DoctorWho42,

I was cleaning up pages that appeared on Wikipedia:Database reports/Orphaned file talk pages. Most of time, these orphaned file talk pages result from the deletion of a file where the talk page is missed and isn't deleted. But I found a few of these pages had been created by you. I'm not sure why you would create a file talk page where there is no file page but I just wanted to let you know that when they are found they are deleted as orphaned talk pages (CSD G8) so it's much more efficient to create a page in Draft space or somewhere else where you can work on it and it won't be faced with speedy deletion. Thank you for all of your contributions! Liz Read! Talk! 20:56, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is it appropriate to say "female" when describing a foreign politician?

Dear DoctorWho42,

Thank you for your generous review of Generation of Evil. It is a Lithuanian feature film. The plot describes characters. The incumbent mayor Rasa is female. If this was an English language film, and the mayor was Jennifer, adding "female" would not be necessary. What is your opinion and advice regarding inclusion of gender when describing a movie character? Ttk371 (talk) 22:15, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Digital paintings indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Doctor Who and the Loch Ness Monster.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Doctor Who and the Loch Ness Monster.jpg.

Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
