The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future.[1] The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. To say thank you for your time, we are giving away 20 Wikimedia T-shirts to randomly selected people who take the survey.[2] The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.
Thank you! --EGalvez (WMF) (talk) 19:25, 13 January 2017 (UTC) References

I'm sorry, I've never been insulted so openly in years of editing on Wikipedia. Maybe you didn't intend to include me in your censureship of the person whose conduct you were rebuking and if so, I'll accept an apology. You did not assume good faith. Chris55 (talk) 22:19, 26 February 2017 (UTC) Your rudenessYour rudeness is not appreciated in an encyclopedia or, I suspect, anywhere else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.14.232.67 (talk) 21:32, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
[[user:Eimhin de Róiste (talk) 20:09, 1 September 2018 (UTC)]] Hello Dmcq, I'm hoping to apologise. I realise it was a shocking and potentially insulting or unintentionally suspicious behaviour on my part to neglect to create a profile. I thank you for your help to date. I suspect this may also be the wrong area to apologise. (I picked here to highlight my rudeness) I believe I should apologise to others DrKay, Canterburytalk and many others for my likely terrible breach of Wikipedia etiquette. Could you point to me how/where to apologise to the others I have offended. I have no problem with the first line of the UK page but totally understand that I must have appeared to be some kind of crank or crackpot. I actually decided to study the naming conventions for France (fascinating, and I thought another republic could be more useful) and more educational, less contentious I am familiar and comfortable with UK definitions and naming conventions. I have been doing this on a windows phone and no banner showed on my phone so I missed that warning and made changes to debate pages inappropriately sorry again. I am trying to be polite and respectful but realise due to inexperience my blundering is causing offence. I would of course understand if you delete this or ignore me not unreasonable in light of my blunders. I hope not to offend others while learning the wiki ropes. Sorry and thank you.
RfC Announce: Wikimedia referrer policyIn February of 2016 the Wikimedia foundation started sending information to all of the websites we link to that allow the owner of the website (or someone who hacks the website, or law enforcement with a search warrant / subpoena) to figure out what Wikipedia page the user was reading when they clicked on the external link. The WMF is not bound by Wikipedia RfCs, but we can use an advisory-only RfC to decide what information, if any, we want to send to websites we link to and then put in a request to the WMF. I have posted such an advisory-only RfC, which may be found here: Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#RfC: Wikimedia referrer policy Please comment so that we can determine the consensus of the Wikipedia community on this matter. --Guy Macon (talk) 21:32, 10 June 2017 (UTC) FYIwe don't do it this way anymore. If you use the new "FYI no-fault" way (which requires the template made for that purpose) that's enough. See this section.NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 00:09, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

No surprise the check user was rejected. This was a problem when HughD was using a series of IP addresses. The search failed because the records aren't kept after so many months. It will be interesting to see where it goes. Springee (talk) 16:31, 22 October 2017 (UTC) ArbCom 2017 election voter messageHello, Dmcq. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC) Removed discussion you participated inI removed this discussion you participated in [2]. While you did nothing wrong, I do not believe it is appropriate to randomly bring up comments by other named editors made elsewhere without providing any context or at least a wikilink, as the IP did. Especially since the IP presented it as if that comment reflected the editor's POV, whereas a quick look at the original discussion reveals this was clearly not the intention, and further this was already discussed at ANI and on Jimbo Wales talk page before where this misrepresentation was pointed out. There were various other ways to deal with this but if the IP wants to make such comments, I'll leave it up to them to fix it. MarnetteD|Talk 19:00, 27 November 2018 (UTC) Re IPI'm not saying it's not the refdesk troll or whoever's been posting those pics in the Trump article, I'm just not seeing enough to say that it is. The IP I reverted was pushing the sort of pro-Trump POV that would be offended with how the Trump article was being vandalized. Wikiproject Climate Change ?!Hey, tl;dr version: Long version: I read a Journal Article yesterday by a member of the Military History Wikiproject, and he talked about them ( Military History ) being a rather active group. That got me looking into that wikiproject, and into the Climate change task force as well. Reason for the last being that I've meant to start on some cleanup / reorganisation work on the Climate Change topic for a while now, but what with the controversy and regular challenging of material by (at least nigh on) deniers, I've been rather daunted by the task. Now since I saw that you had once proposed to form such a Wikiproject, and are still active on the topic, and that User:Femkemilene has recently wanted to reinvigorate the task force, I thought it'd make sense to ping at least you two (maybe I'll write to some of the other actives as well...). I guess my question primarily is - would you want to participate ? But also, do you still think it'd make sense to have such a Wikiproject. (I'm happy to move forward the proposal myself, not expecting any work in that direction atm :P ). Kind regards, Sean Heron (talk) 19:50, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
