Can you check to see which Latour-Maubourg was the French commander. There were two, Marie Victor (to whom you've linked), and Marie-Charles. I'm pretty sure that the one with Soult was Marie-Charles, not Marie Victor (Marie-Charles was at both Albuera and Gebora). Unfortunately, no article exists for Marie-Charles, and I haven't been able to find out enough to create a stub. Worth checking though. Regards. Carre (talk) 08:23, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Ayyubid-Crusader WarHey man, just wanted to say I really think this campaign box should only go from Montisgard to the fall of Jerusalem. Trying to lump in things like Arsuf and the Sixth crusade with it just doesn't work. Thought I mention it rather than just change it. Great work on the battles by the way mate! :) --Tefalstar (talk) 17:35, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

ForbeletI guess the problem is that a lot of these battles just don't have names; they went out on campaign all the time so it wasn't anything special. We'll figure something out...by the way, did you see Military history of the crusader states? Since Ayyubid (etc)-Crusader War are also not found in the literature, Srnec merged them all into one article (but hasn't redirected anything there yet). Adam Bishop (talk) 08:51, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

RestonReston isn't really an historian; he's a journalist who writes about history sometimes. He has obviously read plenty of primary and secondary sources, but seems to lack the skill to analyze them critically as an historian would, so the book reads like a bunch of jumbled information. When information is lacking he seems to fill it in with his own imagination. I wouldn't use it at as a source on Wikipedia. I was in the middle of a large edit of Battle of Wauhatchie when there was an edit conflict with you. Most of the edit (but not all -- why?) was blown to smithereens. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! It was a big edit too. Djmaschek (talk) 23:06, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi there Djmaschek. I have moved Battle for the Relief of Ladysmith to Relief of Ladysmith as per your wishes indicated in the edit summary. I was not sure whether to leave "Battle of" in the lead but unbold it or to remove it all together so this is just a heads up to say that it might need looking at now it is at the new title. Nice article by the way. Belvoir CastleHey man, I've been having a big think about this. I'd like to replace the article with two new ones i.e. the Battle of Le Forbelet and the Siege of Beirut. I'd include Saladin's movements around the Kingdom prior to the battle in a background section so we don't lose any information. I'd include the course of events after August in an aftermath section of the Beirut article. I just wanted to know how that sounds to you, I think it makes sense. Anyway man, let me know! Thanks, --Tefalstar (talk) 21:11, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Orders of battleHi, I notice that you have done some work creating orders of battle on battles of the French Revolutionary Wars, mainly based on Digny Smith's work. Would you mind if I made changes to the titles of these articles so that they were easier to understand for the casual reader? An example would be changing Castiglione 1796 Campaign Order of Battle to Order of battle in the Castiglione Campaign (1796) or Order of Battle in the 1796 Castiglione Campaign. This is clearer to casual readers and more descriptive, and is usually the prefered format for these articles. --Jackyd101 (talk) 01:30, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
