User talk:DiscoA340/Archives/July–December 2023August 2023 Good Article Nominations backlog drive
August 2023Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Greenville, NC MSA. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history. In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Hope you are doing well. -Indy beetle (talk) 08:16, 31 August 2023 (UTC) Hey Disco i got a question about the existence of the flag of Statesvilletheres probably a reason why people keep adding is because on the iredell county page theres the courthouse area and the image shows a unknown blueish-red flag below the North Carolina flag Iredell County, North Carolina I only added my recreation of the flag based on that image on the iredell County courthouse because i honestly think it could be the flag of Statesville but then again it could also be something else Francowremoris (talk) 01:56, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
I reconstructed the unknown flag on the flagpole of the iredell county courthousemaybe this is the flag of Statesville https://prnt.sc/6HNKK37R7P0t Francowremoris (talk) 02:42, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
Table for communities in Richland County, South CarolinaI just happen to notice that there was a table being used for the communities and while I think that is a bit overkill, it should be corrected by having the name first then type. After all, it is already sorted by name and the type is just an attribute to it. Just an idea. --WashuOtaku (talk) 22:10, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
HelpHello. Help copy edit for acticle Akane Yamaguchi. Thanks you. 171.226.232.127 (talk) 14:14, 6 September 2023 (UTC) City namePlease refrain from adding the name of the state to be part of a city name in various infoboxes. You have not provided any reliable sources that indicate that the state is a part of the city name. The name of the city in the infobox does not have to fit with the pagename. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter messageHello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. It isn't the best photo but at least it gets it up on Wikimedia. You can see it here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Watauga_courthouse_view_from_west.png WWWHHHHYYYYYY (talk) 06:48, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
