It's borne out by the Madras Tamil Lexicon's entry for "kunakankiyam". If you look at the online version (romanised), the reference it gives is "karikai, payiravurai"(i.e. karikai, commentary on the payiram section). I should add that it's not really a major issue - I just thought you might be interested in knowing. -- Arvind (talk) 22:06, 31 May 2008 (UTC) FYI- Your attention and help is requested .You are receiving this note as you are the member of the project -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 05:04, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Seven wonders of IndiaDear Dinesh Kannambadi, We have corresponded through these pages in the past. I find that Amar has not been editing the Karnataka pages. Who is looking after the pages for value editing? I have created an article on Seven Wonders of India which includes two of our Karnataka heritage sites. May I request you to edit/ wikify the article and also introduce the photos of all the seven wonders from the interlinked wikipages. I have tried to do it since morning (sitting in San diego I have all the time in the world to browse wiki pages)but have not been able to do it. Regards--Nvvchar (talk) 16:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC) The article has two different spellings, Kavichakravarti and Kavichakravarthi for the same phrase ("emperor among poets"). I can't tell from references which spelling is more appropriate for the content. -- Michael Devore (talk) 20:07, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Kadamba TreeHi, DNK! You have written the aritcle on Kadamba Dynasty. Some one had created a page on Kadamba tree and called it a mythical tree, which is not correct. I have now changed this artcile totally and you may like to have a look at it. It is a stub page and hence I could not put on DYK.--Nvvchar (talk) 14:34, 27 June 2008 (UTC) Carnatic MusicHi! DNK, You have been an ardent and committed contributor/editor of the articles on Carnatic Music (Karnataka Sangeetha). I came across an excellent biography titled 'MS - A Life in Music" by T.J.S George-ISBN 81-7223-527-5 published by Pubishers -HarperCollinsIndia (absorbing reading), which has not been referenced in any of the articles on Carnatic Music.The book is worth absorbing reading. Some of the leading names are also missing such as Veena Dhanam, Bangalore Nagarathnamma, N.C.Vasanthakokilam, etc (Among the famous women vocalists).You may find the book interesting and informative to exapand the articles on Carnatic Music. It may also be a good idea to write a seperate article on the meanings of all Carnatic music terminology for the understaning of non southindian readers of the world.--Nvvchar (talk) 14:10, 11 July 2008 (UTC) Recent changes to articles and abuse by Special:Contributions/218.248.1.194Please consider this note a head's-up on a recent spate of articles changes and abusive talk page remarks by an apparent single-purpose IP account Special:Contributions/218.248.1.194 to Kannada-related articles. Those abused in the remarks include User:Dineshkannambadi, User:Sarvagnya, User:KNM, and User:Amarrg, per [1]. Additional abusive remarks and edit summaries directed to Dineshkannambadi are to be found in the IP's history log. While I can revert the abusive talk page remarks, the IP's contribution history also shows a string of changes to multiple Indian history articles. Given the circumstances, it appears that these changes are of questionable merit. Unfortunately, I am not qualified on the topic content to determine if any of the other changes are correct. Accordingly, I am posting to the talk pages of the editors referenced by the IP so that you can collectively or individually take any actions on the change articles, talk pages, or the IP account that you think appropriate. -- Michael Devore (talk) 03:21, 20 July 2008 (UTC) MangaloreHi Dinesh, hope you're doing well. AE/BE spelling differencesI've replied in detail to your question on my talk page. -- Michael Devore (talk) 21:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC) Encyclopaedia and Encyclopedia in Literature in the Hoysala EmpireEncyclopaedia and Encyclopedia are both common in British English, based on my searches and reading of reference materials, including several Wikipedia comments. An editor might want to use Encyclopedia so as to keep the spelling consistent with both American and British English usage, and perhaps be a bit neater. However, since Encyclopaedia remains relatively common in British English, it seems to me that this ought to be primary author's choice. For the article Literature in the Hoysala Empire, the two spelling variations are a moot point. The reference books use the Encyclopaedia spelling, as clearly confirmed by an ISBN lookup at several different library and book-seller locations. Even if the original titles used the ash and were anglicized, "ae" (not "e") is generally considered an acceptable modern English spelling substitute. Based upon the book listings, Redtigerxyz was mistaken in editing the book reference titles to use the Encyclopedia spelling. You can revert the changes as being in error or, if you prefer, I will do so. -- Michael Devore (talk) 20:06, 6 August 2008 (UTC) Architectural legacy of KarnatakaHi! Commons categoriesThanks for your message. A photo or gallery page is placed in a category by adding the text [[Category:Temples of Karnataka]] (or whichever category you want) to the bottom of the photo/gallery page. See Commons:Categories for full details. You should make sure that categories only contain appropriate content. By that, I mean it would be OK to put the Triprantaka Temple gallery into the Temples of Karnataka category, but it would be inappropriate to place the Belur gallery there because Belur is a town, not a temple of Karnataka. Karnataka is the top level category for everything to do with Karnataka, including the temples, so you should be able to find everything you need in there. I learnt so much from that article. I have a few suggestions for improvement below.
{{cquote|The 11th century witnessed intense competition between the Western Chalukyas and their arch-rivals, the Cholas of Tanjore. The contemporaneous Eastern Chalukya Dynasty of Vengi, cousins of the Western Chalukyas, became increasingly influenced by the Cholas through their marital ties.[67] According to Kannada scholar R. Narasimhacharya, despite some important contributions, literary development may have suffered during this period because of Chola invasions into Kannada lands.[68]}

Request you to Review it and make this WP more readable, as its read by international community. Also the sentence "Chandrayaan in many languages roughly means" doesnt sound good. Could you make my requested change to the article? I couldn't do it myself somehow. --Kalarimaster (talk) 16:07, 2 November 2008 (UTC) I should be able to get together my final edits and talk page remarks tonight. After that, you can decide whether to take it directly to FAC, or perhaps consider asking another editor for a final look. I've worked on the article for so much, I no longer have the necessary distance to see remaining issues and have begun to second-guess myself. The wording is a bit rougher in some spots than others, but you have made very significant improvements there in the past two weeks and the entire article reads better for your work. I don't think you should get a flat rejection on prose at FAC, though further work may be requested to ultimately get promoted. And, of course, there are other issues of content, structure, and controversy unrelated to prose which can come into play, as with any FAC. -- Michael Devore (talk) 20:54, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
