IP TroubleHey Deavanger, as to your IP nuisance, as far as I know there is no set process for blocking an IP, though I imagine there would be. Blocking IP addresses is the same as blocking users. The simplest way is to: 1. Go to an admin, preferably one who is involved with a project that Punjab Police falls under. 2. Show them what the IP has done 3. Ask them nicely to block this troublemaker That's how I've gotten IPs blocked before. Thank you very much for coming to me about your problem. If you have any other dilemmas like this please let me know and I'll help as much as I can. I've already found a couple of anti-vandalism admins to help and hopefully block the user: Necrothesp and SGGH. Good luck. --Hobie (talk) 18:47, 19 August 2008 (UTC) MillionsAs I said, poverty is relative. If you look at the global line of poverty, then only about a fifth to a third of India's population is in poverty, but if you look at poverty as it is in the west, then almost everybody is in poverty. Besides that Yale source has nothing to do about India's status as a superpower.Swedish pirate (talk) 05:14, 9 September 2008 (UTC) Fair use rationale for Image:ZakariaFareed-PostAmericanWorld.jpgThanks for uploading Image:ZakariaFareed-PostAmericanWorld.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. I agree it's getting to be a nuisance when editors try to push their POV but at least they've stopped edit warring recently. I'll look into the issue and work with you and Hobie to resolve the situation. Nirvana888 (talk) 03:39, 25 September 2008 (UTC) Thanks Deavenger. I'm all for considering new reliable sources and differing views. But the section should still be kept neutral and edit warring certainly didn't help his case. That said, asking him to use the Talk page has not helped so far as he continues to pushing his POV. Hopefully, it won't get out of hand. Do me a favor and keep an eye on it. Potential superpowersHi Deavenger, I think I will go through the article and clean up sources that do not direct discuss a candidate's potential for superpower status. I've been meaning to do this for a while but haven't had time. How is the research on the other sections going for you? Nirvana888 (talk) 02:24, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Backward Castes in IndiaHi there, sorry to revert your edit on Religious violence in Orissa. Actually OBC ( other backward castes) is the term used by the govt. "Lower caste" is POV as it suggests derogatory. See also Other Backward Class. It is the collective term, used by the Government of India, for castes which are economically and socially disadvantaged and face, or may have faced discrimination on account of birth. -- Tinu Cherian - 04:28, 14 October 2008 (UTC) I've reverted the edits by the IP to the previous version. As I noted in the Talk page "There is no widespread belief in the international relations community that Russia is a "superpower" in the sense that it has been defined here. Fareed Zakaria in the The Post-American World (2008) that there is “one superpower, many great powers". Parag Khanna (2008) believes that Russia will never be a superpower given the foreseeable trends. Even China, a country cited many experts as having the highest chance of becoming a superpower does not have comparable global influence as the United States - and it will take at least some years/decade before it approaches the United States in comprehensive power. Bold statements that suggest a country has become a superpower should be supported by reliable sources from not only the media but also the academic community." Congrats!
RE:90.196.3.37I left a note on their talk page. My personal conviction holds me from blocking anyone but a blatant vandal on sight; I'd like to see if this person will talk to me. If he continues, then I'll block. As always, please feel free to keep me posted so that I don't miss anything; also, if you need anything else, do let me know! :) How did the potential superpowers article situation turn out, by the way? Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 03:05, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
How old are you ? Have you passed any GCSE's Question for Deavenger (A person who claims not to be a sikh but posts a lot on articles related on Sikh fundamentalism) strange dont you think ? I appreciate your efforts towards saving an article Islam and Sikhism from serious vandalism. I have answered/replied to most of the questions on User Talk: Master of Puppets. Please feel free to read/reply out there. --Singh6 (talk) 07:58, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
