"The key thing about the 1916 rebels was that they had no electoral mandate whatsoever. Unlike various groups trying to stage rebellions (usually very badly) in Burma, Greece under the junta, Vichy France, various African states, etc the 1916 leaders had no form of mandate whatsoever. Gia Apostoli! You know, I had just finished writing an article about Karahasan for Wikipedia when the electricity went! By all means mention it in the article.
