Speedy deletion nomination of Elijah Joyce
A tag has been placed on Elijah Joyce requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Elijah Joyce, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Your contested deletion statement actually misses the A7 criteria concerning educational institutions. What that line actually means is that any school (UTEP, NMSU, Oxford, Southampton Institute of Technology, Michal Jackson Elementary School, etc) that is nominated for speedy deletion must be nominated for reasons other than those given for CSD A7. A7, however, applies to those who work with, for, or in schools, including faculty, staff, and students. I wanted to clarify that so that next time you try you'll have a better grasp as to why A7 was used in the deletion of this article. How to write articles that won't be rejected or deletedIt has nothing to do with formatting or phrasing, and not so much content but sources. If you're going to write an article about anyone or anything that is not you or something you are connected to, here are the steps you should follow:
Doing something besides those steps typically results in the article not being approved, or even in its deletion. If you are writing about yourself, or someone or something you are connected with (such as a friend, family member, or your business), the following steps are different:
