DYK for Pointer (dog breed)On 15 January 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Pointer (dog breed), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that it is popularly believed that the Pointer descends from Old Spanish Pointers introduced to England in 1713 by soldiers returning from Spain after the Peace of Utrecht? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Pointer (dog breed). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Pointer (dog breed)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. WP:DOGSSome time ago I badged WP:DOGS as semi-active. Later, you rebadged it as active. After the three person response I received to the WP:DOGS Talk page entry concerning the Dog article, I am convinced that the project needs to be rebadged semi-active. It is clear that it is not functioning as a project should. Of those editors still included on the list of membership, some are very active on dog-related articles but not on the project, many do not work on dog-related articles at all as they have other interests, and some are approaching over 12 months inactive on WP. SegugioHi, Cavalryman, I hope you are well! I also really hope I haven't started the Second Portal War with my recent post at WT:DOGS, but time will tell about that (it isn't looking good). Regarding this, my memory is a bit hazy. They are actually two separate Italian/FCI breeds, and are not inter-bred. I recall that we discussed the possibility of splitting the article, and seem to recall that you rightly pointed out that there'd then be a lot of duplicated content; I'm happy to defer to you on that. But can we agree (between us, that is) to leave the two infoboxes intact, for now at least? At one point there were three, which I found excessive; I think I eliminated one of them. One of our friends is preparing a new article for de:WP.[5]. Over all, the corresponding article here in en:WP needs some updates. Specially i would like to read your expertise about these pictures [6] + [7] which objects are mentionend to be in sydney. This pictues might be in a wrong commonscat; sorrowfully i can not detect the right designation. Would you be so kind and have a look on this case? Our collegue user:sandbaer will be happy. I already tried do find deeper going information from Alfred Muther here.[8] Sorrowfully Muther does not reflect on the models before 7.7 cm FK 96 n.A.. Why should this be a question of interest? There are only a handful of surviving originals. Most of the cannons have been converted to "FK 96 n.A.". n.A. is the abreviation for new Model/Variant. Keep healthy and with good minds ;-) Best --Tom (talk) 21:33, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
