The Urswick School

I have cited all sources used and the information taken from the school website is factual so if you must edit the page surely it can not all be wrong. Furthermore to say the information is promotional fluff is highly subjective and does not warrant removal of said information. Category:Comprehensive schools in the City of Westminster

Care to explain what is wrong with this category? Because it seems perfectly acceptable to put a comprehensive school in the City of Westminster into it! Given that's clearly what it's for. Cut and paste moves

Weekend schools

There is one thing different about the one I mentioned. There are some Japanese weekend schools officially identified/certified as such by the Japanese government for use by their nationals. They serve a role for Japanese nationals since it is not feasible for most of them to go to full-time Japanese schools. While there are other weekend schools I'm not sure if the others get recognition by foreign governments. The Japanese weekend schools I wrote about specifically exist to teach Japanese government curriculum, including the Japanese language, so that when the Japanese kids go back to Japan they are up to speed with their academics.

There are two weekend schools in the UK, the ones in London and Derby, that actually receive teachers sent by the Japanese government. At one time that used to be the case with the one in the North East of England (The first listing in this 2003 list is of schools getting teachers from the Japanese government, and the second is a list of schools that don't get government teachers). I wonder if a way to solve this is using a "narrowed down" section name to make it clear it's more "limited". Maybe "weekend international education programmes" or "foreign government-sanctioned weekend educational programmes"? I don't know of any country other than Japan that certifies such an extensive network of weekend schools. With other countries (Germany, US, UK, France, etc.) they simply open Kindergarten through high school international schools and that's that. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:53, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Russian Embassy School

That's interesting! I'll see if "Russian Embassy School" works as the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea lists it like that. If that doesn't work I'll see if it is under some other name?? WhisperToMe (talk) 18:03, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

I wonder if it also has to do with the way the Russian embassy schools are set up... I'm not sure if they admit anybody who isn't a child of a Russian diplomat. If the address of the London school matches that of the Russian Embassy it might make sense. WhisperToMe (talk) 18:13, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

User:Sealle states that this rule http://ukruschool.ru/uploaded/files/docum/PL_school_2014.pdf states that they only enroll kids from diplomat families. Let me search for the relevant Russian text. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:57, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
I wonder if a way of dealing with this is to change the international school template to "International and other overseas schools"? In addition if there are only a few international schools in the UK outside of London I can change the template so it reflects all international schools in the UK. An update! "Правила зачисления в школу" says "Обучение в школе при Посольстве иных лиц осуществляется только по решению Посла, согласованному с МИД России." - According to Google Translate it means a non-diplomatic family may enroll, but it is up to the decision of the Russian Ambassador. International schools in India

Hi! I have a few comments about this edit.

1. Several of the schools I added do have articles already. Also... 2. Unless there's a disclaimer stating that only schools which already have articles should be listed, people will have a misleading picture of the number of schools. They may not realize that certain articles don't exist yet and so they won't know the schools in fact exist. WhisperToMe (talk) 13:42, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

There's plenty of notable subjects that haven't had their articles started, because nobody has had the chance to do so.
Now, I did find the Russian schools in Mumbai and Chennai are only primary schools. Sometimes I leave redlinks anyway on the chance that somebody uncovers something that proves WP:GNG with the school anyway. The Russian Embassy Schools are operated by the Russian government and there may be material in Russian about them. Even if there was nothing to show individual notability the school names could redirect to the Russian Foreign Ministry or something like that.
I could comment in a URL showing that the institution covers high school.

User:Rhododendrites told me that the page has historically operated on a blue link-only basis. I think adding an internal comment saying something like "Make sure the school is notable according to WP:GNG and/or school outcomes and has its article created before you list it!" may help WhisperToMe (talk) 04:26, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Primary schools in West Sussex

Hello - hope you don't mind my drawing on your far greater experience than my own. I notice you've made a couple of tweaks to the list of schools in West Sussex template. Now that Thomas A Becket Junior School has ceased to be a middle school, I think it also loses its notability (as it was previously the largest of its kind). Similarly the Greenway Academy article has been tagged to be merged from some time now. I'd be minded to merge/delete & redirect both - to Schools in Worthing, West Sussex and Horsham#Education respectively. Proposed deletion of Jamia Al-Karam

Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport

The official name of the school is Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport (see [1]). It also refers to itself by that name (see logo at the top of its web page [2]).

Please move the page back.

Hi, I'm just curious why this article has been reverted to a dated and factually inaccurate version. Considering all information in the most recent edit are properly cited from official and reliable sites (Ofsted, and even the schools own website)

Just wondering if you can justify this edit.

Hi Bleaney,

You've reverted the page again without explanation. The page clearly needs editing (the information pertaining to finances is taken out of context in particular), but you cannot simply revert the page to a version that does not include the latest Ofsted information and GCSE statistics. The purpose of the page should not be to make the school 'look good' and your role should not be to act as censor. If the performance of the school has declined, then people have a right to know.

Deleting categories

If you wish to remain in good standing, please use WP:CFD to delete/upmerge categories that you believe should no longer be used, in particular the remaining local sub-cats of Category:Comprehensive schools in England (e.g. [3]). Innaccurate Editing

Dear Bleaney, My colleague has tried to update the information held about Havant Academy several times but you have apparently returned the information to an old, inaccurate version. You need to research the topic and you will realise that the school was graded Good by Ofsted in 2015. The version you have posted is riddled with inaccuracies. Your decision to return the page to out of date information seems to be a wilful attempt to undermine the good name of our school and I will not tolerate this. Our local community deserve to have accurate information posted about their school.
