Kamrupi dialect, WiktionaryHello. I'm adding Kamrupi dialect on Wiktionary. I'm making a verb conjugation template. I found the conjugations in books, but it's hard to find the negative forms. The book by Upendranath Goswami doesn't have any mention of how negative forms are formed. It seems he studied the Nalbaria dialectal. There's a book on Barpeta dialect which has negatives but lacks few other forms. If you want to help, can you tell me which sub dialect do you speak or you're fluent in? Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanctionThe following sanction now applies to you:
You have been sanctioned for the reasons provided in response to your edit warring complaint about Kamrupi culture This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions. You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. EdJohnston (talk) 04:11, 27 January 2020 (UTC) You are again pushing "Kamrupi language" here. Thanks RE: Kamrupi dialect resourcesI appreciate your time in reading my comments and continuing to provide me with resources. My area of expertise in Linguistics is primarily Sociolinguistics, but beyond that, I spent many years studying the Mohawk language, also known as Kanienʼkéha. At the time, I was unaware, or at least highly skeptical of my maternal family's claims of descent from Mohawks and another Iroquois people, The Onondaga people. Even when several of the native speakers with whom I worked shared with me their belief that the only reason I could speak the languages was because I was on of them, I laughed it off. Eventually, modern records searches and DNA tests convinced me they weren't exaggerating and honestly, if you look at my Mom, it's pretty obvious. Of course, I don't buy into that theory that one has to be of the blood to speak a language. I chose Mohawk because I spoke French and Mohawk has nasalized vowels that coincide with French, making it easier to master if you first speak French. I identify more with my Dad's Western Irish ancestry since he is first generation American. Also, on the East Coast of the USA, where I spent my early life and young adulthood, Irish people (not merely Irish-American) have their own culture, speak Hiberno-English, vacation in specific areas in The Castkills since they were/are unwelcome in "white" resorts and so forth. When I was seeking employment as a young woman in the late 1980s, I had to dye my hair blonde and allow people to assume my name was German in origin and that I was Lutheran or some other accepted religion, anything but Catholic. These details are likely unimportant, but I wanted to sketch you a little picture of my background. My dad grew up in a time when children were slapped for speaking Irish or even Hiberno-English. I grew up in a time when his parents had come to regret the loss of their language culture and thus encouraged me from childhood to sing songs in Irish, play Irish games or dancing with other children in "The Irish Alps," at family-friendly "resorts" in East Durham, NY. SO that's me in a nutshell. When it comes to Linguistics and various issues bubbling in the field today, I am far more open-minded than some of my responses my seem. I left the field to begin working in the Film Industry in 1990 but even then, I tried to keep up to date and through some funded Folklore research, I found myself back doing field work and recording older Nahuatl speakers telling me stories. I only had one year of Nahuatl under my belt when I began that but I was still more experienced than many of the others I worked beside. I became interested in the languages of India and South Asia through film back when I was in Grad School. There was simply no one to explain the films to me and so I jumped in on my own. Later, when I became involved in Film Distribution, I was recruited by a company that released Bollywood films and also some Indonesian films. Strange combination, I know, but hey, it was fun. I met my husband (re-met, actually) during a Film Festival celebrating the films of Brazilian Horror director/character, Zé do Caixão ( known as Coffin Joe in English). Our mutual love of World Cinema led to marriage. There you have it. Thanks for reading! I hadn't intended to write so much. Just know I am open to reading more on Kamrupi and the issue that brought us together on Wikipedia. It's always wonderful to have a chance to use ones skills again and even more wonderful to use them outside your comfort zone. Thanks again and feel free to give me more to read. I hope that the DRN discussion has helped settle the central issues and that the active RFCs and move-requests at Talk:Kamrupi dialect and Talk:Kamarupi Prakrit help move the process further forward. I appreciate your (and other editors') participation at the DRN discussion but want to be clear that if the issues that were settled during the discussion are re-opened anytime soon or the editing-conduct you have been warned about resumes, you will face a topic-ban. In particular, for reasons that both Robert McClenon and I have explained before, I hope that you don't take these to the takeaways from the discussion. This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date. You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor. Note though that this exemption is narrowly directed to the "article naming issue" and not a carte blanche to bring up all the other points of contention that you may have with regards to the topic-area (the ongoing DRN is the appropriate venue for those). I would also highly recommend that you limit your input to stating your name-preference and supporting evidence succinctly rather than try to debate the issue at length with individual participants at the RFC. I sincerely hope this works out but if the RFC becomes unmanageable, disruptive editors may face a page/topic-ban under the IPA discretionary sanctions. Pinging @Robert McClenon: to see if they have any objection/input with respect to the above. Abecedare (talk) 05:31, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. A tag has been placed on Tower House (1962 Hindi film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.interval.in/videos.php?id=213429. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. International Phonetic Alphabet, Kamrupi phonology and vocabulary.Hi, for your information, Kamrupi just like many Bengali-Assamese languages, doesn't have long vowels. The macron (diacritic) is not used in IPA, it's used in other romanisations. Please don't mix them. For long sound ː is used. It seems the native word is কামৰূইপা (kamruipa) /kamɾuipa/, and if its name is Kamrupi in English then use English pronunciation, which is like /'kæmruːpɪ/ (not sure) because English and Kamrupi are not the same language.

However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject). Bhaskarbhagawati, Please do not insert additional information which are merely speculative. The issue has been looked at by a 3O, so please respect the process. You have raised the issue of Kautilya, and there is no convergence on it yet. Chaipau (talk) 15:26, 28 September 2017 (UTC) Ways to improve BardangrikuchiHi, I'm Usernamekiran. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Banarasi Babu (1973 film), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Manorama and Veena (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject. Arnold HerbertToday you tagged this article for unreliable sources. As the provider of the sources, I can confirm that the two sources are the most authoritative sources in existence. I have deleted you tag. Etymology of AssamYou have made some very edits here that does not live up to scrutiny. For example, you seem to suggest that Sujata Miri claims that the name Assam is derived from asama. I have checked the work and she does nothing of the sort. She does say "it is said to be an anglicised version of the Sanskrit word 'Asama'", but only to indicate what others have said. As for her own views, she emphatically says: "There is, I think, no doubt that the word is derived from the present designation of the Ahoms." further down the text, in the next paragraph. It is possible you missed out on the rest of the text when you searched for "asama" on books.google.com, because it only affords a snippet view of it [7]. Please do not resort to searching for your POV and citing from cherry picked quotes just to "protect" your edits. As this example has shown, you are wrong. This practice puts up wrong information on Wikipedia; you may violate WP:VERIFY; and you are likely to make a false representation of a source (Wikipedia:Disruptive_editing#Signs_of_disruptive_editing), which might amount to disruptive editing. If you do not have access to the book, please visit the nearest library. I shall remove this from the article. If you have questions, please discuss in the talk page of the article. Chaipau (talk) 21:24, 19 August 2013 (UTC) Removing referenced texts from Kamarupa PithasHi, You had removed texts that were referenced with citations three times in the duration of 24 hours (diff, diff and diff). If you have problems with Dineshchandra Sircar, a well known and respected epigraphist and historian, refer his work to WP:RSN. You cannot cite your own objections in another talk page, as you have done, and remove referenced texts, under WP:VERIFY. I have restored the cited texts. If you have objections, please discuss in the talk page.
