Hi. Did you have a particular reason for replacing my {{primarysources}} tag with "BLPunreferenced"? I find "primarysources" (which is badly named, should really be "need-more-than-primary-sources") useful because with plain "unref" they tend to add their own website, Myspace etc. and think that's enough. The primarysources template includes the useful message: "Primary sources or sources affiliated with the subject are generally not sufficient for a Wikipedia article." I was thinking of taking this one to AfD, because "owns some restaurants and will be a contestant on a reality show" didn't sound like notability, but a quick look suggests that refs may be available. Hi, sorry, didn't mean to step on your toes as such. I added the BLPunreferenced tag just because I think it's important to draw attention to the WP:BLP policy. The primary sources tag, I would usually use for when an article is relying on a primary source. In this case there was none. I wouldn't have bothered removing it however, but after I had added a couple of tags, I just thought it looked a but too cluttered, which I know can be a bit offputting to new editors. So, It's not a case of "my tag's better than yours" or anything! Just a different approach I guess. --BelovedFreak19:37, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
No problem, and no offence taken - as I said, I find that "unref" or "BLPunref" tends to produce the subject's own website and Myspace, and then adding "primarysources" later seems a bit like nagging. As you say, different approaches. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 19:42, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
It looks like that userpage has been deleted now. Editors are not really encouraged to advertise themselves or their companies (see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:User page). There is some leeway for editors who contribute to the encyclopaedia to write about themselves on their userpage. It looks as though that particular page was created as an article and deleted because a lack of notability and references. It is acceptable for editors to work on versions of deleted articles in their userspace to try and get them up to the standard required. In this case, the editor in question has not been contributing for over a year and there is no need for them to have a page advertising themselves.--BelovedFreak19:56, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Basically, it has no references at all, so it needs something. There's nothing particularly contentious in it (although people might argue with genre - I say that hypothetically, I'm not familiar with the album). But it needs a reference to help verifiability. There's also nothing demonstrating notability at the moment. But at least I've learned something today, I'd never heard of melodic death metal before!--BelovedFreak17:47, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:TheLittlePrinceFilm.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. If have read the notability guidelines and are sure that this group meets them, then why don't you start by writing the article on your userpage, that way it won't be deleted straight away if it's not immediately up to scratch. Memo Gracida
I've added sources to the Memo Gracida article. Can you take a look and see if they're up to standard?
Also, can you tell me why the fair use image was removed?
It looks a lot better. It still needs some more references, although I haven't read all the sources in detail, so either you need more sources, or just more citations within the article. All the personal info needs citing, and anything really that could be challenged by a reader. The reader needs to be able to go and check facts by following the references we provide. This is especially important because he is a living person, so sourcing needs to be spot on. (see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for more info).
I removed the picture because it's a non-free image, and it doesn't qualify as fair use if it's used in a biography of a living person. This is because it should be possible to obtain a free image of someone who is still living. Under "Unacceptable Use of Images" it says "A magazine or book cover, to illustrate the article on the person whose photograph is on the cover." It could be used to illustrate an article about that magazine, but not the person on the cover. Hope this helps. --BelovedFreak23:26, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
New editors' lack of understanding of Wikipedia processes has resulted in thousands of BLPs being created over the last few years that do not meet BLP requirements. We are currently seeking constructive proposals on how to help newcomers better understand what is expected, and how to improve some 48,000 articles about living people as created by those 17,500 editors, through our proper cleanup, expansion, and sourcing.
I was both kind to a noob and, at the same time, bold in editing. I merged the material from Catholics on television to the above article. A merger keeps a probable and viable search term, rather than redirection or deletion. It also makes the larger article reflect a worldwide view, rather than merely a US-centric vision.
