I wonder you can't find any reference to "channel", because the only reference of the article is the United States, Hydrographic Office (1916). South America Pilot 2. p. 313, and there you can't find "Canal Whiteside" but "Whiteside Channel", in page 313 of course. I agree that "Canal" is more common in google. Since we can't transclude pages across project boundaries, we need a minimum of two - one on English Wikipedia, the other on Meta. I don't know of an efficient way that would allow those two to provide data for the other four; four because I didn't mention MediaWiki:Geonotice.js because Manchester 18, being more than four weeks away, doesn't yet qualify for that. I'm guessing but HML could be "His Majesty's Lord Lieutenant"? I can find no references to it on the web however which seems to suggest that it's maybe an overkill? The same letters are not present on Lord Brookeborough's article. I have Doherty's "History of the North Irish Horse" here so I'll look up Brookeborough and the Mahratta connection right now. I've tidied the page up a bit, and added some citation needed tags. Not ideal. Also, some of the references were missing URLs to The Examiner website, so I fixed them, but I couldn't save these because apparently The Examiner is on the WP:BLACKLIST (I didn't even know such a thing existed!), so I've had to change these to cn's as well. If you can't find any reliable (and not banned) sources, then you may want to consider removing all of this text, but it won't leave a very long article.
