The first quote I have an issue with is one he attributes to Andre Tubeauf which says "Music critic, André Tubeuf states, "[...] for all its natural lack of varnish, velvet and richness, this voice can acquire such distinctive colors and timbres as to be unforgettable. However, Dion often exaggerates her nasality for expression or for effect, producing a sound which generally becomes acidic and unsightly" The user claims this quote came from "Bel canto: a history of vocal pedagogy" by James Stark. It is all a fabrication by this user to preach his personal views on Celine's voice, and it is an elaborate one using sources to pass it off as real. I could change it myself but I wanted to contact some more established members before I take action. Those sources are all real but none of them support any of the quotes he lists, basically = it's all fake. You can see for yourself. Hello :) Dear BalticPat22, you reverted recently my afterthoughts on this article. As I didn't understand exactly the reason of this revert, I will try to explain you why I added those pieces of information, and I'm sure that we could eventually find an agreement. Firstly, I have to say that I used a 2010 OIF report as a source of my changes : I dindn't really understand why what I've added is an "Orginal Researsh". Then, I wanted, in accordance to the 2010 report- I don't know whether you can or not read French, so I will explain it directly to you here -show that the very particularity of French is that it is a language that have, as a world language, relatively few native speakers, but that much more people can speak it as a second or third language. Another specificity is that many people in Africa can converse in French, but cannot read or write it, for the simple reason that they are illiterate. As a consequence, those people cannot be considered as full-fledged francophones, but they are still capable of speaking the language. However, the difficulty is that one cannot really make a trustworthy estimate of them, thus the number of people able to speak French is unkown (as I wrote it in the article yesterday). Those statements also make sense with the end of the introduction, as a forecast is mentionned : if so many people will be considered as francophones in 2050, it is because by the time, education will be much better organised and present in the African countries; people there will as a consequence be able to speak, write or read the official language of their country properly, and not only their local dialects. All this makes French a very special major language. Since those important informations were not present in the article, I thought it was a good move to add them. I can understand that the lenght of the paragraph could be reduced to facilitate the reading, but I see no reason in deleting it enterely. Je vous remercie d'avance pour votre réponse. While the report was interesting (and maybe noteworthy), I did not find it appropriate or necessary enough to take up an extra paragraph in the lead section, since there are already five paragraphs in the lead to begin with. Secondly, this isn't a discussion about the substance of the article. In other words, don't bring personal information into the conversation. That said, I do speak French, but I think that is wholly irrelevant to the issue at hand. One doesn't need to be conversant in any language(s) in order for that person to be able to edit articles. My other main qualm was that you placed personal wording in the paragraph toward the end, without any edits to support it. That's why I placed "original research" into the space box. Along with grammatical errors, and the sheer length of the paragraph in relation to its relevance, I decided it was necessary to revert it. Feel free to place it into another part of the article, but six paragraphs in the lead section is too much, per WP:LEAD and may overhwhelm the reader with information before they even read the article after the lead section. Anyway, that's why I reverted your edit. I do appreciate the explanation, though. Not too many users have the courtesy to do so. Per the 3RR policy, making multiple reverts in a row, with no intervening edits, counts as a single revert for purpose of counting towards 3RR. This is because some editors prefer to make one big edit that handles all of the changes, while others like to make small, incremental changes. Plus, there's no "edit warring" involved if it's just one user making a bunch of changes.
