Hi Antony-22! Thanks again for your help with updating the citations in the Hansjörg Wyss entry earlier this month. I'm writing to see if you might have time to look over some changes I'm proposing to the Early career section of the article. I posted a note on the Talk page, but haven't had any feedback on my draft. I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks! Heatherer (talk) 15:25, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi there! Just pinging this thread because I've posted another new draft for the article over on the Talk page. I understand if you don't have time to look, but I just wanted to let you know it's there. Thanks! Heatherer (talk) 15:17, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
On 3 August 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Cthulhu Regio, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in his house on Pluto, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
On 10 August 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Krun, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that the Krun region of Pluto is named for Krun, the lord of the underworld in the Mandaean religion of southern Iraq, who takes the form of a giant louse? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Krun. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
In fact, the implication that the title "refers to" either of the two separate bridges is false. The title "Boulder Bridge and Ross Drive Bridge" can only refer to the two bridges together, not to either one of them individually. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 11:48, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
I agree, it is odd. Both bridges used to be covered in the same article, possibly because they're listed together as one entry on the NRHP. I moved that article to Boulder Bridge and split off Ross Drive Bridge into a new article; since a redirect wasn't really appropriate I made the old title into a disambiguation page. I tweaked the wording to deal with your concern, if you have any other ideas feel free to implement them. Antony–22 (talk⁄contribs) 21:12, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
I took the {{Disambiguation}} tag off the page, because the title isn't ambiguous. It is referring to a single specific collection (not unlike Abbott and Costello), so it is more like a stub article, albeit one that probably has no realistic possibility of expansion. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 22:29, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
I need your first and last name so you can get through NPR security for today's edit-a-thon. Please send me a note with it so I can let them know you're coming. Thanks!
I don't think we have crossed paths before but I just wanted to tell you that I appreciated the questions you posed to the ArbCom candidates. I think they were valid questions and it's been interesting to read the responses. LizRead!Talk!19:26, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm a pretty straight-down-the-line content contributor who avoids the drama boards. I've never actually even voted in an Arbcom election before (except once when I supported exactly one candidate because I had had positive interactions with them). But at in-person events I've recently been hearing more conversations about the drama boards than about actually building the encyclopedia, which I find troubling.
But I'm glad my questions were helpful! I think that abstract, open-ended questions reveal more about the candidates than ones that have an obvious desired answer. For some of my questions I don't even really know what the right answer is myself! Antony–22 (talk⁄contribs) 03:39, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Antony-22, this nomination hasn't progressed since the most recent comments, and it seems clear from his comments that the nominator has given up on DYK. Since he doesn't seem interested in editing his article further—indeed, nothing has been done since the nomination was made—you need to decide what to do next, since your suggestions are not being implemented. Thanks, and best of luck. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:50, 18 December 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
I just noticed that you reverted my edits on Hansjörg Wyss although I included sources for the content of my edits. I am a bit surprised about the reason you stated for why you reverted my edits, saying I "misrepresented" the sources. I don't think I did but I am ready to apologize if I did; may you explain how I misrepresented the sources in your eyes?
I am eager to learn and listen to your suggestions and maybe I can incorporate some corrections to my edits after having seen your suggestions. Thanks BankerStar (talk) 20:23, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
We have to be extra-careful about biographies of living persons. In this case, the text does not reflect what the cited sources say, for example omitting the context that the terms of an earlier settlement were allegedly violated. The final sentence also is ambiguous about whether the quote comes from Wyss himself. Some of the sources themselves are political blogs with obvious POVs, which might not be considered reliable sources. These problems could potentially be fixed, but the text as originally submitted misrepresents the cited sources. Antony–22 (talk⁄contribs) 22:32, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
