I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place Errors on the French WikipediaI was just looking at the Nunavut and Liste des communautés au Nunavut and noticed that there were several errors. The Inuit names for the following places are not the official names. A list of official names can be found here, although the spelling of Igloolik is odd.
The "Liste des communautés au Nunavut" has a link to Inuits Netsilik but they are a group of people rather than a community. Amadjuak, Amadjuak, Nunavut, should probably say that it's a former community. The problem is that I don't speak French and I can't log in due to someone using my username for vandalism prior to the unified login system. Thanks. Reference for CFB EdmontonHi, Sorry, but I had to undo your edit to this article, which was to add a reference. Thanks for trying to add the reference, but the DND took the info from the CFB Edmonton article for their own history of the base, almost verbatim. So, obviously it can't be used as a reference source. Sort of a chicken-egg situation. See the talk page for this article for more info. I'm sure this will be happening more frequently as other web sites "steal" information from Wikipedia articles. I know they took it, since I originally wrote this part of the article, and it was before the DND had their CFB Edmonton history page up and running (see edit history, Nov 22, 2006). I should have added my references at the time, but I was relatively new with Wikipedia and did not think to do it. I may be able to find the "real" source I used; if I do, I'll be sure to add it in. There is no way that you would have known, and I'm sure this will happen again. Cheers!-- BC talk to me 06:00, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

During the month of April, Wikimedia Canada is preparing the National Contribution Month, and we are looking for experienced contributors to organize a contribution day (or half-day) in their region. Contribution days are activities where Wikipedia's contributors, students, or anybody interested in contributing to Wikipedia meets together to collectively improve a predetermined theme. This meetings generally take place in library where references are easy of access, but can be organized in any communal room. Beside improving articles, a goal of this participatory workshops is to initiate neophyte in the cooperative contribution of Wikipedia. If you are interested in organizing or participating in a contribution day in your region, communicate witht he national team on the project's talk page. The exact agenda of each local event is left to the discretion of the organizer. Help is available for the organization from contributors who already organized these type of days, so don't be worried. If you have any questions or want more information, don't hesitate to contact us.Benoit Rochon (talk) 01:07, 11 February 2013 (UTC) April - National Contribution MonthHello, Amqui. To help us focus on African languages Rubric has donated a large number of articles in languages we haven't previously reached–so a shout out them, and Ian Henderson from Rubric who's joined us here at Wikipedia. We're very happy for our continued collaboration with both Rubric and Translators without Borders!
At Wikimania there were so many enthusiastic people jumping at the chance to help out the Medical Translation Project, but unfortunately not all of them knew how to get started. That is why we've been spending considerable time writing and improving guides! They are finally live, and you can find them at our home-page!
We're proud to announce a new sign up page at WP:MTSIGNUP! The old page was getting cluttered and didn't allow you to speficy a role. The new page should be easier to sign up to, and easier to navigate so that we can reach you when you're needed!
Translations are of both full articles and shorter articles continues. The process where short articles are chosen for translation hasn't been fully transparent. In the coming months we hope to have a first guide, so that anyone who writes medical or health articles knows how to get their articles to a standard where they can be translated! That's why we're currently working on medical good lede criteria! The idea is to have a similar peer review process to good article nominations, but only for ledes.

If you happen to be an OTRS agent see: ticket:2016121310018191 If not, let me know and I will copy the email. I see this as a potential exciting new initiative. Valerie Salez is spear heading a project titled Conversations. This New Chapter project centres around activating a document held in the archives of the Trondek Hwechin Heritage Department (The Han Gwich’in Peoples Government in Dawson City, Yukon). The document contains the minutes of an impromptu meeting between Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau and five Yukon First Nations leaders in August of 1977, regarding the then-approved Mackenzie Pipeline. The minutes of this meeting clearly reveal two opposing cultures and two opposing ways of understanding economic, social and cultural development, with the land and its inhabitants as the focus. While researching events and people connected to this document, Salez noticed there was a lack of information available. Online searches have become a valuable first step to researching any topic. Wikipedia gained its name to fame as a peer sourced online encyclopedia. However, there is little to no information regarding key Yukon First Nations people. Let us indigenize Wikipedia. The goal is to have Yukoners create and/or add to wiki pages that highlight Yukon First Nations leaders, policy makers, politicians, cultural workers, artists/crafters, hunters, gatherers, community contributors, aunties, uncles, grandparents. This can be anyone alive or passed. We are proposing a drop-in style event to allow people to contribute to Wikipedia. We are inviting people from the public and from organizations to contribute to writing, editing, or posting to Wikipedia about Yukon First Nations people. If this interests you, I would be excited to hear your thoughts about this. Also, please pass this along if you know of anyone who would be interested! Being a Ghost Story of Christmas, commonly known as A Christmas Carol, is a novella by Charles Dickens, first published in London by Chapman & Hall in 1843 and illustrated by John Leech. The book is divided into five chapters, which Dickens titled "staves". A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. A Song for Simeon, is a 37-line poem written in 1928 by American-English poet T. S. Eliot (1888–1965). It is one of five poems that Eliot contributed to the Ariel poems series of 38 pamphlets by several authors published by Faber and Gwyer. "A Song for Simeon" was the sixteenth in the series and included an illustration by avant garde artist Edward McKnight Kauffer. The poem's narrative echoes the text of the Nunc dimittis, a liturgical prayer for Compline from the Gospel passage. Eliot introduces literary allusions to earlier writers Lancelot Andrewes, Dante Alighieri and St. John of the Cross. Critics have debated whether Eliot's depiction of Simeon is a negative portrayal of a Jewish figure and evidence of anti-Semitism on Eliot's part.

"Faith lived in the incognito is one which is located outside the criticism coming from society, from politics, from history, for the very reason that it has itself the vocation to be a source of criticism. It is faith (lived in the incognito) which triggers the issues for the others, which causes everything seemingly established to be placed in doubt, which drives a wedge into the world of false assurances." French philosopher, sociologist, and professor who was a noted Christian anarchist.~ Jacques Ellul Quotations related to Jacques Ellul at Wikiquote
