Orphaned fair use image (Image:ContribsRollback.JPG)Thanks for uploading Image:ContribsRollback.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Vandal Proof registrationHello, I recently registered to use Vandal Proof. No one has done anything about letting new members use your tool, for about a week. I was hoping you could do something about it, being the creator of Vandal Proof, because there is quite a queue. QuestionYou reverted three bot edits to Ohio County talk pages, including Talk:Ross County, Ohio. I added or updated all 88 county infoboxes, but missed these three "infobox needed" banners. The bot removed the banners as no longer needed, but you reverted this. Did I miss a needed infobox? I removed the banners (infobox needed) again, is that OK? Thanks, Ruhrfisch 02:54, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

VP applicationNot that I'm particularly bothered either way, but I'd suggest it's entirely appropriate for Betacommand to decide whether I was suitable for it given his recent desysopping for poor judgement and due to the fact he showed appalling judgement in a recent dispute involving me, see Talk:Gerry Adams for more details. VPYou may or may not remember me, but I was a previous user of the best vandalfighting tool to ever be released. Around last November, I inexplicably left Wikipedia. Both times I've tried to return only to find said tool to be down/broken/disabled. What's going on, and will this ever be restored to it's former glory? The application page itself states that "In most circumstances, [...] users with fewer than 250 mainspace edits [...] will generally not be accepted." I do realize the concise meaning of that; however, it lets on to the possibility that one could be accepted without 250 mainspace edits. While I'm attempting to contest your decision (as you are the final arbiter of this, seeing how you created it), I would like to emphasize to you that all of my edits and participation in Wikipedia have been benign and that I'm attempting to slowly "work myself up" the ranks to become more helpful in the community. Obviously, if denied most tools that aid me (from what I've seen, all Windows anti-vandal tools are authorization-only), I'll never be able to do so. If you still believe my denial is warranted, could you at least point me in the direction of some ways to fight more vandalism besides what I'm doing now (happening upon random pages and seeing if something can be corrected)? Additionally, I advise (although in no way am I trying to be offensive) that you change your VP application page to more accurately reflect your acceptance process, as per the reason you left me on my talk page (that 250 mainspace edits is strictly required). --LoganK 20:46, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Check out this corrected version of "c.php". I can't test it on my own, so there are probably a few missing commas and things, but once the typos are fixed it should be a huge improvement. I'll work on the "Geshi.css" colors for it tomorrow. --Quuxplusone 08:43, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

A question about VPHello, I know that you are the creator of VP, and know everything about VP. However, how many people needs to be in the approval list before they get approved? Your VandalProof ApplicationThank you for your interest in VandalProof, Metta Bubble. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that you have a 3RR block only a month ago, as well as other factors which indicate you may not be able to deal with vandals who confront you effectively. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Daniel 07:07, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

(Is it still a proposal?) May I be really cheeky and question the wording of the 'information banner', for want of a better term? It currently says:
The current what I ask? The current revision/The current 'quality' revision (obviously not but ambiguous none-the-less). How would "the current version" sound? Another 'revision' isn't called for, but version might sound better than 'one'. Also what would happen if the 'current' version was not automatically shown to the proven editors (unless there is no recorded quality revision)? In this way any proven editor who is just browsing/researching - believe it or not, it still happens - will still be sure of a non-vandalised version and would also be prompted to approve the recent edits (removing any backlog situation, and confirming any genuine edits that may not be displayed (to Joe Public) for a length of time. wikiscannerhello daniel, it's me , drini I've emailed you a couple of weeks ago via Special:Emailuser but got no reply and the email address listed at the proxy scnaner page is bouncing. I was asking if you could give me access to proxy scanner? Mainly to verify proxies on eswiki (where I'm checkuser), currently I suspect we've detected a few proxies but have no way to verify it. Reach me a t es:Special:Emailuser/drini if it's possible. Thank you. -- drini [meta:] [commons:] 13:33, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Your deletion of Cooper's LawI just realized (much after the fact) that you had deleted this article on 9 July, for reasons invisible to me. I've recreated it as a simple redirect to Martin Cooper. I trust this is not an issue, but thought I should let you know.LeadSongDog 16:20, 27 September 2007 (UTC) Wikipedia Weekly Episode 31Oh, boy! ThanksFor ignoring the abuse some members here exert on other, honest editors. Duly noted. At least now we who are actually trying to make this place a decent repository for accurate information know it's a lost cause because of admins like you. Thanks for the heads up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.82.58.52 (talk) 06:28, 29 September 2007 (UTC) Signpost updated for October 03, 2007

Orphaned non-free image (Image:VP newlook3.PNG)Thanks for uploading Image:VP newlook3.PNG. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 21:08, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

It would indeed be quite absurd to suppose that a website's use of its own logo could violate its copyright on that logo. Each of the many, many times this issue has been raised, the consensus of the board and of Wikipedia has been that use of WMF-copyrighted logos in userspace is appropriate. Additionally, screenshots of a tool for Wikimedia, be the tool released under a free license or not, for the purpose of illustrating the software in question on its appropriate project page or discussion page are permissible on those pages by simple common sense. While the screenshots were mis-tagged, I should think it a far better use of your time to retag them or contact me to ask for an explanation of copyright than to go spam me with three redundant templates and mark the images for deletion. Tagging is a job for a bot, not a person. AmiDaniel (talk) 05:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
