@Alice793 first, thanks a lot for your recent contributions to philosophy articles! :)
Second, I'll note that although we don't require edit summaries for every change (especially v short ones), summaries are strongly encouraged for most edits. As a rule of thumb, about 90% of edits should have summaries, and no-summary edits from new users can trip our vandalism filter (which identifies possibly-problematic edits for review). – Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 18:42, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for welcoming me, @Closed Limelike Curves!
If possible, I would like to ask you a question: how can I add Agnes Taubert's image on the list of philosophical pessimists without it being automatically removed by the JJMC89_bot?
Agnes Taubert died in the XIX century, and her image is used already on her main page.
It seems that we just need a "fair use rationale" for the non-free use of such an image, but I frankly have no idea how to do that -- such that the image stays on the page and is not automatically removed by the bot.
Could you possibly help me with this issue? Alice793 (talk) 13:23, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I'm not sure, but you can try asking over at the Teahouse or on our our Discord server! – Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 22:09, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File:Agnes Taubert2.jpg

Hi Alice793. There are several problems with File:Agnes Taubert2.jpg. The first has to do with it being essentially the same as the previously uploaded File:Agnes Taubert.jpg. There's no need to upload the same file twice under different names and doing so is almost certainly going to be considered a violation of Wikipedia's non-free content use criterion #3a. The other problem is that non-free images are pretty much never allowed to illustrate individual entries of list articles as explained in WP:NFLIST; so, even though you provided a non-free use for the file's use in List of philosophical pessimists, it's very unlikely that a consensus in favor of it could be established if the file ended up being discussed at WP:FFD. FWIW, Wikipedia's non-free use policy only requires that non-free content be used in at least one article per non-free content use criterion #7, but this doesn't mean only one article or one time. A non-free image can be used more than once or in more than one article, but it's just that each additional use becomes increasingly harder to justify. In this case, the same non-free image being used in Agnes Taubert for primary identification purposes is more than enough for Wikipedia's purposes per WP:FREER. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:05, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Agnes Taubert2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:08, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
