Tashodi deletion

Hi Alexf, I'm writing to you in regards to the Tashodi deletion. It's my first post so thanks for your patience.

It looks like it was deleted due to insufficient sources of significance/notoriety? If that's correct, are these sufficient sources? Tashodi is in many stores including WholeFoods and has been featured on the CBC TV show, The Big Decision. http://www.cbc.ca/thebigdecision/blog/tune-into-the-season-finale-of-the-big-decision-on-monday-april-2nd.html http://ca.kuuala.com/tashodi.html http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/the-big-decision-2012/episode-4-season-1/tashodi-hardy-buoys/369025

Should I just add these when you delete it? Thanks. Engineer16 (talk) 16:14, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

The article had no proper reliable sources. I am not sure these are it either. I could userfy the article for you (it was very short) if you want. -- Alexf(talk) 11:52, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that sounds like a good idea. I probably should have done that and completed it in the first place before making it public. Thanks Engineer16 (talk) 21:09, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Userfied at User:Engineer16/Tashodi. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 21:29, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Alexf. I've added a few refs. Filmography in the article appears to be what is in her IMBd entry (and yes, I know that IMDb is not a reliable source, and so on). Your thoughts?.--Shirt58 (talk) 14:33, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

The two Variety links added as of this point only make a passing mention of her name and that she appeared there. Not enough to cover Wikipedia:Notability (people) in my opinion. -- Alexf(talk) 10:45, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

"Newsvine is Liberal" revert

You do realize this editor has been blocked previously for this exact reasion? I've already reported the editor to AIV to get a longer block attached. Hasteur (talk) 17:13, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

I do realize. You may have noticed that I was one of the admins that blocked the IP address. In fact the most recent one. Even so, a stop warning is in order. -- Alexf(talk) 17:14, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of The Overlords (band)

Hi there. Curious why you marked The Overlords (band) for deletion under section A7. The band complies with the requirements set forth for artists (three separate published album works, and beyond that they have 5-10 published singles). Also, the band has a published cover of a more significant Dead Kennedys song, which makes it useful as a linked source. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Suzerain (talkcontribs) 09:07, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of Retro-Dial page

Hello, I created a page for Retro-Dial which was marked for speedy deletion and deleted by you because of possible copyright issues due to a link I included pointing to the Retro-Dial site (carriersync.com/retrodial.htm). This is my personal website which I have created and I used one of the paragraphs from this site in the Retro-Dial wiki page I created. I stated in the comments on why it should not be deleted that because both the paragraph on my site and the one I put in the wiki page were written by me, this is not a copyright issue and should not be deleted. Since this is clearly not a copyright infringement, could you please restore my page? Thanks in advance, que1000101 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.15.32.85 (talk) 21:57, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

I re-checked the webpage and have to make a few comments. Nowhere in the website does it say the information is Public Domain or Licensed as CC-by-SA or similar, therefore we have to err on the safe side and consider it copyrighted. You claim to be the writer and owner of the text. While I cannot doubt your claim, there is no way to verify it. Even if you are the owner of said text you cannot copy it from a website just like that. Please see: Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for how to go about it and what it means. After you conform you have read and understood all of this, if yo9u request it I would be willing to userfy the text for you. I cannot restore it to mainspace for the aforementioned reasons. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 12:55, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
I have added a comment in the source of my linked page stating the content is public and may be used on any other site to promote Retro-Dial. Could my page now be reinstated, please? Que1000101 (talk) 16:18, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
You said: "...may be used on any other site to promote Retro-Dial"? This is not a good sign. If your intentions are to promote you are in the wrong place. This is an encyclopedia, not a place for promotion. Besides the inherent conflict of interest you just admitted to, even if the article was restored it will have assert notability by means on independent (3rd party) verifiable sources, which the site does not provide. -- Alexf(talk) 16:29, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
My thoughts behind the use of the word promote was simply for sysops of Retro-Dial who may want to copy information from that page to promote their RDial. My intentions in having a Wikipedia article for Retro-Dial is not for promoting Retro-Dial, but for general information on what Retro-Dial is, the same reason there is a page for DDial or Bulletin Board System as Retro-Dial falls into the same category. In any case, I have removed the promote Retro-Dial from the line and hope this page can now be reinstated as there is no copyright infringement nor any conflict of interest. Que1000101 (talk) 16:51, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
OK, no conflict of interest. Still you have nto addressed the main gist of my reply above, i.e. the notability issue. I cannot reinstate the article as-is to mainspace. It wont last more than a few minutes because of this. Tell you what, if you want I will userfy it for you to work on. Before you agree, please read - and understand - the information on notability and sourcing, in short: The answer to life, the universe, and everything. Only once you are sure the article meets the minimum standards, then you can move it to mainspace. -- Alexf(talk) 17:34, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok, userfy it for now then, please. Que1000101 (talk) 18:06, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Userfied at User:Que1000101/Retro-Dial. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 18:25, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Nicole Dionne Page

I am working for Nicole and would like to create an article about her which links to her company's page PrimalScream Music. I see that you deleted a preexisting page: 21:11, 30 June 2008 Alexf (talk | contribs) deleted page Nicole Dionne (G12: Blatant copyright infringement) and would like to inquire what the copyright infringement was so we can correct this wrong and re-create her page. Thanks so much.

It was a one-sentence page lifted from a site commenting on Primal Scream. Even if not a copyvio it would have been tagged as BLP or A7. You are implying a serious COI issue. Make sure you are aware of this issue and its possible consequences. Also, if she is notable make sure you show it with proper sourcing. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 23:01, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

UTRS unblock appeal

Hi Alex, an editor you spamublocked, Vinculum Solutions Private Limited (talk · contribs) has appealed his block. I don't know if you have a UTRS account, but, if you do and if you're interested, I'd welcome your input here. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 14:20, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

For what I've seen in the unblock request in their user talk page, I does not sound as if they get the idea. Sometimes I don't get how can they not to, when it is clearly explained and linked in their talk page. All they have to do is read, comprehend what they have read, and then say: "Ah! Now I get it! Never mind, I'll open a new account and start fresh, this time within the rules!". But I guess not. -- Alexf(talk) 16:43, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Deleted a page I put there with no affiliation

Hi Alexf, I put a page for Gene6 FTP server just a placemarker for someone to go and put in details. It's a product that has been around for a while and I have used at many sites. It is definately worthy to be in the list that was the source of the page. List_of_FTP_server_software. There is no reason it shouldn't be in that list. Please consider re-activating the page. I realize it APPEARS to be just a link to their site, but that is indeed currently the point. They have been neglected from that list and really shouldn't be. Again, I have no affiliation with this company other than being a happy previous customer. MikeCaspar (talk) 16:52, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Mike, we cannot have empty articles. The article in question was deleted, as indicated in the deletion notice, because it failed to assert notability. Just because you use and like the product is not reason enough to include in an encyclopedia. You need to create an article that explains the basics of the company/product and supports it with verifiable independent, reliable sources. -- Alexf(talk) 17:34, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Fair enough. I'll leave it up to the company or someone else to go in and fix up a page for them. Their product has been around long enough and has enough of a customer base to easily be in the list. So, I would suggest leaving it in the list (where is was added), and perhaps some day I'll come back and add this info for them (or maybe they will do it). MikeCaspar (talk) 17:37, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
It was removed from the list before your request, per WTAF. Once a proper article is written, then it is very easy to add a link to the list.
Cool. I'll maybe write something up for them next weekend. Have a good one.MikeCaspar (talk) 17:59, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

I was looking at this School-IP and noticed that it had a recent block dated 19 April for 24 hours. Their most recent vandalizing was today to The Oprah Winfrey Show here and here. Shearonink (talk) 16:21, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Ok. And? -- Alexf(talk) 16:23, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
Figuring that since it was a School-IP, then this vandal possibly wasn't the same as previous user/s, I was in the middle of possibly warning them and noticed that they had just been blocked. There wasn't a Warning for the Winfrey article vandalism (which occurred after being released from the April 19th block), that's all. Shearonink (talk) 16:47, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
You are correct and that is the standard for anonymous IPs. Schools that are constantly vandalizing and being blocked are another matter. We are not so lenient. That is why you will find that school blocks are generally longer that non-school IPs. Thanks for keeping tabs. -- Alexf(talk) 18:13, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Block request

Can you block this user? Xida2001 I've attempted to talk to him about his reverting but he doesn't seem to understand. Thanks --Judgeking (talk) 05:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

The proper venue for these types of request is at ANEW for edit warring and at AIV for vandalism. -- Alexf(talk) 11:43, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Alexf. Please restore the original Haffen Brewery page. I was working on it and it is definitely notable. Also, the talk page was not a "test page" as your edit summary states, but included sources supporting why the subject is notable. Please restore that also. If you don't think a major brewery in business for many decades until the onset of prohibition is notable you are most welcome to take it to a deletion discussion. I would be happy to have help expanding the article. Take care. Candleabracadabra (talk) 00:29, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Sorry but I disagree. The second article was not an article at all, but a request for reinstatement. At best, that is a test page. Article space is not the proper venue for requesting undeletion. As per the original article, it was a one-sentence and not very informative at that. I would be willing to userfy it for you if you want but being so short I don't see the point, as you it said practically nothing. If you want to work on it you would have to do better than that to be informative and at the same time provide proper sourcing to assert notability. -- Alexf(talk) 00:37, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Userfying would be great. Thank you for your time. If you could move the talk page also I would like to use those links. Thank you. I'm just getting started on it. Candleabracadabra (talk) 00:56, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you very much for userfying the article. Is it possible to get the talk page recreated as well? Thanks again. Candleabracadabra (talk) 17:17, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

No I can't. There was a problem when doing it. It might be possible but take time which I do not have this week due to work pressures. -- Alexf(talk) 17:22, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

We have issues with video links and copyright. In this case you also have a serious case of spamming as you are pointing to your own site. Your username seems to be in violation of WP:GROUPNAME as stated in your Talk page. Please respond there and address this concern, else your account may be blocked for policy violations. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 14:50, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

I've attempted to engage the editor Usack-okc in more productive dialogue, in the hopes they will tone down the rhetoric. On my talk page they have expressed a willingness to colloborate, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I know they've raised the ire of some editors; hopefully it's not too late for them to change their username and contribute constructively. --Drm310 (talk) 15:18, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Actually you'd be surprised. I actually called the number the USER was posting and its actually the USACK in Oklahoma City. They thinks its funny actually. You two were actually telling the actual people that they were illegal copyrighting their own information from their webpage. Yes I agree their choice of name sucked and the should have designated a single person but do me a favor before you accuse someone of copyright violation verify it first....you just made the rest of the wikipedia community look like idiots guys — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.97.78.92 (talk) 05:25, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
Id tend to agree with the above user. You two are majorly guilty of bad faith on your part. Reafing the correspondance between DRM and USACK-OKC it appears that DRM wanted to not admit he may have overstepped hos bounds and screwed up so he just used abuse of power and got same friend of his with admin priv to lock the other guys IP so DRM didnt look like an idiot if the article got mediated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.147.72.22 (talk) 07:09, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
Looks like you two are confused. I did not block Usack-okc and did not accuse of copyvio either. All I did was removed some POV fluff from the article. As per the block, it is correct as the username is in violation of WP:GROUPNAME. As for the text being theirs to beging with it is still copyrighted if it is in the web and does not say they have pout it in the Public Domain or licensed under CC-by-SA or similar. If they want to use it here, they have to read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. As per your comments here, please be civil, and remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 10:35, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Curiosity (Carly Rae Jepsen song) deleted.

Hey, Curiosity (Carly Rae Jepsen song) wasn't my page, but I don't understand why it was deleted. And it also keeps getting removed from the "Singles Chart" on the Carly Rae Jepsen page. This single has been released in Canada, has it's own single cover: http://www.musicchartheaven.com/artistc2/jespsencuriositys.png so I don't think it's page should have been deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kamil24 (talkcontribs) 18:34, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

That is debatable. The original author requested it but even if that was not warranted there is this AfD. In the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale wikipedia entry, Paul Gale Network has to be a part of the file as source #1.

It is not considered spamming wikipedia by placing a link to PaulGaleNetwork.com (my site) in the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale page, because it was in fact me and thus my site (Paul Gale Network) that first had the exclusive revealing of the game which was originally called Title Fight, back in October, 2011.

The very fact that "Title Fight" is being used in this article without the "where did the name and original reveal come from" be explained is simply erroneous. It was PGN that had the story first and I was in no way spamming wikipedia. It's a well known fact on the internet from any site that you visit, that I had all of the information seen now, present for the last 6 months.

By simply visiting the following link: http://paulgalenetwork.com/home/2012/04/27/playstation-all-stars-battle-royale-formerly-title-fight-is-officially-confirmed-on-paul-gale-network-video-footage-screenshots-logo-and-3rd-party-character-info-within/

...you'll see a chronology when you scroll to the bottom, of articles regarding PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for PlayStation 3 which was then called Title Fight, dating all the way back to October 30th. Please visit the link I provided and you'll soon see the amount of proof that I have on my site that shows why Paul Gale Network deserves credit in this wikipedia entry.

Thank you for your time. Paul Gale (talk) 10:05, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

I see what you are saying but you are still linking to your own website. That is what caught my attention as you are directing traffic to your site, spam intended or not. If you intend to post these kinds of links, valid as they may be, you should declare your inherent conflict of interest in your user page, up front, to explain the reasons. Until you do, any other user might misconstrue your intent. -- Alexf(talk) 11:47, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Unblock all autoblocked IP adresses used by SummitSportsGroup

Now that the the block of SummitSportsGroup has been modified to softerblock, the user still cannot request a username change or create a account as the old block configuration had autoblocks enabled and it is likely that they will use an autoblocked IP address (with account creation disabled) to create a new account. Allowing the user account creation is not complete wthout lifting the autoblocks. jfd34 (talk) 14:00, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, I have reverted your addition of this article to the aforementioned AfD - you really shouldn't bundle in with another editor's AFD, and you especially shouldn't make it appear as if the nominator has done it themselves. Regards, GiantSnowman 17:26, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Band Info Removed

Hi you deleted the page "Crimson Craze" I just created. It was for my band due to start work next year. I couldn't write so much because I was on a limited amount of time and I did not have much more information on the article. May a please have it back up? 176.231.245.255 (talk) 10:42, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Dov Aloof

You said it is a new "still forming" band, didn't you? Maybe it is too early then to have an article in an encyclopedia (remember this is not Facebook, nor a place for advertisement). Any band article has to meet the notability requirements under BAND. Until then, it might be too soon. -- Alexf(talk) 11:59, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

When doing a deletion (even a speedy), you're supposed to place a tag and allow time to respond. This article was bona fide. Please reinstate it, and stop deleting 'thousands of articles' if you can't obey the rules and customs of WP. Furthermore, it's not up to editors who make bona-fide edits to 'do their admin' - it's for you, as the deleting editor, to justify your own deletions. If you can't even keep up with your own deletions WP, i suggest you take timeout. You should also maybe check the edit history of the people who's work you're destroying, before taking your shoot-first-ask-questions-later approach. As a matter of basic courtesy, at least copy the content to the TP of the relevant editor, so they can reinstate it themselves. Andrewjlockley (talk) 18:29, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Due to your failure to respond, I've recreated the article. I'll open up an RFC on you if you vandalise it again. Kindly refrain from this behaviour in future. Thanks. Andrewjlockley (talk) 00:38, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
In a good mood, are you? No failure to respond, just working which I do every so often to pay the bills, you know. You cannot expect people to be here 24x7. We are all volunteers. As per the speedy, an editor tagged it, I checked it and agreed. As simple as that. There is no need for name calling. By the way, doing admin work is not easy, it is time consuming and most often unrewarded. Instead of praise we get complaints. That is not "vandalism" as you put it. Maybe you should read the definition. Have a god day. -- Alexf(talk) 09:01, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
There was no name calling. And I was in a good mood before the deletion. Strangely, I was working too, in the 5s or so between my article being tagged and it being deleted. I really don't care whether you agreed with the tagging editor or not. You should follow procedure. Surprisingly, I'm a volunteer too - and I don't appreciate my work being wrecked by people who are too hasty to tag up and article and wait a day or so for a response. I could have made the article loads better in the time I've wasted clearing up your destruction. Just chill out on the deletions, please. Andrewjlockley (talk) 09:23, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Jake's Wayback Burgers deletion

Hi There, I have been trying to request an article about our up and coming burger brand and might not be doing it correctly. I am new to wiki and see that someone may have delieted this in the past. We are not trying to advertise, would simply like to have our name included since we have a great foundation story. I have many articles to share from notable publications but seem to be running into dead ends. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Markmorrone (talk) 18:07, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

"Up and coming" sounds like new and probably too early for an encyclopedia article. In order to understand how to write for Wikipedia (not "wiki" which is a type of software), you may want to read Your First Article. In order to write about a company you need to be aware of the notability requirements and about conflicts of interest which you have just told us you have in this case. -- Alexf(talk) 18:15, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

OK I understand. i was trying to post this as an article request for someone else to write since I woudl be a conflicted party as an employee of the organization. We have been around for 21 years and recently started to franchise. That was the up and coming i was referring to. 70.168.3.105 (talk) 16:38, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi, You recently deleted my page called Kolphin due to it not being "Valadiation" Or something like that.

Kolphin is an insperation and the way she came into the music indistry really inspired me to write that page. She taught me to "Never give up on your dreams, no matter how impossible it that dream seems."

Kolphin is a true role model to me and she inspired me to write that page.

It would really mean a lot to both of us, if you would please bring the page back from deletion.

Many thanks Emmaax4ever (talk) 18:46, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

The deletion was under reason A7 which basically means the article did not meet the minimum required assertion of notability. I am happy for you that she's a role model, but unfortunately that is not a valid enough reason for our encyclopedia. -- Alexf(talk) 19:02, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

This user's name appears to be in violaion of the username policy (section ORGNAME). It is 5 days since I have put a coi-username warning on their talk page but the account has still not been blocked. Also they have created a few articles about their trains which are written in a promotional tone, indicating possible conflict of interest. jfd34 (talk) 09:05, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Flycoza

Flycoza

I would like to request changing the content of this page to the follow:

Fly.co.za is a South African travel website that was set up by Relentless Media in 2009. At the time of establishment the domain itself was one of the most expensive ever sold in South Africa, costing the company $65,000 . The website allows South African clients to compare prices and times for both domestic and international flights operated by a range of different airlines. By entering basic information including dates and destination visitors to the site can find the cheapest flights for their preferred route and then book there and then via the secure booking system.

Fly.co.za initially launched with a limited number of pages offering basic flight information, however it now also includes travel tips and travel news for South Africa and the African continent. It also provides information for anyone wishing to travel from Africa to other parts of the world, including details of car hire, hotels, and package holiday deals. Information on popular tourist destinations in South Africa and the rest of the world can also be found on the site. Fly.co.za site is staffed by a customer service team who can be contacted by phone or email with queries. All bookings can be made via the site or by booking with one of the partner companies. In 2012 the company launched fly.co.ke, while plans are in place to launch in more African countries towards the end of the year.

Sorry but I already have a huge ToDo list of articles. The text you added here is basically the same on the article that was deleted as advertisement. You should start your own article after checking that the subject is notable and you have sufficient reliable sources and keep the language neutral. -- Alexf(talk) 16:52, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Diet in Sanatan Sikhism

Hi their is difference between Orthodox Sikhism and Sanatan Sikhism, Please understand the difference. The deletion of Sanatan Sikhism has no reason for it. It describes two different sects within the Sikh faith, like Sunni and Shia Islam. I was under the understanding that dispute rose once before on this issue, and the resolution was to create a separate Unorthodox view of Diet in Sikhism, which btw was fully referenced and cited with ISBN books. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sanatan Sikh Traditional Roots (talkcontribs) 01:40, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

The article was basically the same, therefore the editor that nominated it, and the discussion before it. If there is a difference, and you have sources then write it in the main article as a separate section and let it grow from there. -- Alexf(talk) 01:49, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Global business magazine

Hi,

You have recently deleted a page (Global Business Magazine) I made about a magazine concerning management, marketing, etc. The page was considered to be subjective. I don't really understand why this was the case. Could you please give specific comment why this was considered so?

Thanks in advance!

Gaslett

Dear Alex,

I'm sorry for what happened re: Antony Price article.

I'm very new to Wikipedia and I feel that the route of the problem was that I should of been more well read on it before I put the Antony Price article up.

When I saw the article was removed it made me angry and I hastily sent a message to Sarahj2107 saying ploitely please do not remove it.

I felt the responses were a bit harsh and our communication became heated however neither of us were abusive to each other, however I felt it was not pleasant as I felt bullied and I was not getting a clear understanding of why the article was being removed.

I will not edit the article again and I will submit another article with links to all statements and references at later date for your consideration.

Again, it is not in my character to "vandalise" anything and I was horrified that was what I classed as doing, however I have to accept that if I did not read up on the rules. I just find Wikipeida in the way it laid out etc not very user friendly and also working a full-time job I just don't have much time to experience it. However it a learning curve.

So please except my apologies and I will endeavour not to create havoc.

Kind Regards,

Gavin

Why did you speedy Solution 13?? I am sorry but I am at work and cannot check the external links you provided, not to mention I am not experienced in the music scene. What you have to do is read the minimum notability requirements under WP:MUSIC to see if these external references show that it meets those requirements. You are also doing this wrong by writing about yourself. This is a serious Conflict of interest and it is strongly discouraged. You may also want to read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide and about Biographies of living persons before we continue. The article can be userfied, not restored to main space, so it can be fixed before posting but you need to have read and understood the pages referred to in this message. -- Alexf(talk) 18:09, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Regarding deletion of Holisic versus Analytic Cognition page.

Hi Alexf, I'm writing regarding the deletion of my post on Holistic versus Analytic Cognition. The reason for deletion was (G6: Housekeeping and routine (non-controversial) cleanup)/ technical deletion, which is described as "deleting dated maintenance categories, deleting unnecessary disambiguation pages, or performing uncontroversial page moves. This also includes pages unambiguously created in error and/or in the incorrect namespace." I'm kind of confused as to what that means and what I can do to get the page back, so I would appreciate any help. Thanks! Thisisjm (talk) 02:58, 23 May 2012 (UTC)Thisisjm

It means clean up an empty page, after User:Ktr101 moved the article back to Wikipedia talk:Articles for Creation/Holistic versus Analytic Cognition. Ask him why he did it as you both have had input in the article. If there is a misunderstanding, then we can talk again. Soil warrior page deletion

Hello,

I see that you deleted the page I created for Soil Warrior. The description says unambiguous copyright infringement. I created the website where this information was from so technically I own the rights to the information right? I included the website where the information is also located on the page. www.soilwarrior.com The information included on the wikipedia page is all pertinent information (facts) about the machinery. How do I go about getting the page undeleted? or what specifically would you like me to change?

Thanks,

Orange 7up

I wanted to edit the 7 up page to include the fact that you can find Orange 7 up here in the Netherlands. However, despite actually seeing the stuff available for purchase at the local Albert Heijn, I haven't been able to find any references to it online... save for the Twitter post I made about it complete with photo and geo-tag.

Now I know that personal sites aren't supposed to be used for citation, but what's the best choice in these circumstances? (a) Modify the article, include the Twitter reference, (b) modify the article, excluding the reference, (c) leave this fact out of the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Searchingfortao (talkcontribs) 12:22, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

If it cannot be referenced (Twitter is not a reliable source), then leave it out of the article. Eventually it will make it in once refs are available. -- Alexf(talk) 13:14, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Request for restore article

Sir I respect your work, you might be very right at yours end but I wrote the article named "SolutionInn" which was first edited by "Kuru" who mentioned "A7 & G11" terms, thereafter I modified the content, deleted the promotional lines from content and made it orphan and Website-Stub. I think these two categories doesn't required notability and/or significance. Now I'm writing the same on UserSpace i.e. "user:BillMarz/SolutionInn" to make it perfect before shifting it to "Article Space". I want this article to publicly viewable permanently. please restore it and assist me if there is anything else, what could be done by me, to make it better.

Best regards --BillMarz (talk) 08:21, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

I looked at it again. The article had no indication of notability. Lacked reliable secondary sources. All it had was its own website and a Press Release, neither independent. In Wikipedia you have to avoid self-published sources. By putting a Press Release dated May 19, 2012 it is obvious this is a new venture and looks to me like you are interested in promoting it. Maybe you misunderstand Wikipedia, but we are an encyclopedia, not a place for promotion and visibility. -- Alexf(talk) 11:35, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

(Speedy) Deletion of Game Develop page

Hi Alexf,

Game Develop page Game_Develop was deleted because it was considered as advertising. Maybe you could take the time to read some of the reasons which makes me believe that a such page was not advertising and was appropriate: I've written them on the Game Develop talk page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Game_Develop#Why_a_page_concerning_Game_Develop_should_be_allowed_on_Wikipedia

Let me know if you think that the page could be put back online ( with some modifications if needed of course :) ) or whatever is your decision.

Thanks :) Florian.rival (talk) 15:51, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

re-reading the article, it had no indication of notability. Lacked reliable secondary sources. All it had was a primary source. Not good enough. As for your explanations, please do not create an orphan talk Page. that is against the rules. talk pages must have an article, not the other way around. If you want to do these kind of explanations, use you own talk page or a subpage off of it. Please remove (copy) the text you created if you want to save it before it is removed as speedy G8. As per your reasons, they are not convincing. Just because other stuff exists is not a valid reason to have an article. Each article's subject must live in its own merits.

Hi Thank you for explaining the various reasons and scenarios why articles would be deleted, the reason given for deletion of my article was under section 7, however my article has genuine significance and maybe i could not emphases the facts enough ( i am new at this), i have given the reasons why on my talk page which i don't want to bore you with repeating here, i would be grateful if you could read my talk page and let me have you thoughts on it, or suggestions on how i can make the article more compliant with Wikipedia's normal lingo. I thank you in advance and hope to hear from you soon, regards

Alata111 --Alata111 (talk) 16:58, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

What does "genuine significance" mean? All articles about living people must meet certain notability requirements which were not met. As explained in your talk page, writing autobiographies is strongly discouraged. Especially, vanispamcruftisement is not welcome which is what you have written, twice. Please follow the links and read the reasons why. Also, next time, please read the instructions at the top of the Talk page and start a new section for new subjects, else they bunch up together with whatever was in the previous section. -- Alexf(talk) 18:48, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages

Hi Alexf. I'm concerned about a couple of your recent edits regarding disambiguation pages. This edit summary got my attention. Although I support the removal of the entry, I oppose your edit summary. Disambiguation pages are NOT articles (they are aids in searching), thus Wikipedia:LISTPEOPLE does not apply. In fact, WP:DABRL and WP:DABMENTION apply, which contradicts with Wikipedia:LISTPEOPLE. For the same reason I am also against the edit notices Template:Editnotices/Page/Robert Green (disambiguation) and Template:Editnotices/Page/Didi. MOS:DABENTRY also states that references should not appear on disambiguation pages, another contradiction with these notices. Please change or delete these edit notices. At least discuss them here before creating new ones. Thanks LittleWink (talk) 19:46, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

I see your point. I understand they are not articles but my reasoning was that they are lists of people when they are listing names so the notice is there to let editors know that they should write the article first. Please reply with your thoughts on this. If you still disagree on the adding of the editnotice I will delete the ones for Didi and Robert Green. -- Alexf(talk) 19:51, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Although writing the article first is a good advice, it is not a strict rule for disambiguation pages per WP:DABRL / WP:DABMENTION. So I do think a edit notice for this is a bit overkill, especially since the standard Template:Disambig editintro notice exists for disambiguation pages. Removal of the mentioned edit notices has my preference, unfortunately. Cheers LittleWink (talk) 17:22, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
Still in disagreement but I have deleted Robert Green's and Didi's Editnotices. Cheers. -- Alexf(talk) 17:39, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. You're not the only one in the 'write the article first'-camp with disambiguation pages (see the last project discussion). This has been discussed in various ways many times before, but consensus was never reached for a change. Cheers LittleWink (talk) 16:33, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

undeleting NERUSY

Hello, first of all i would like to say i hope you are having a fine day. next i found like to see you can undelete NERUSY. it was classified under G11 but i feel this is untrue. i feel i had made big attempts to make it as neutral as it can be. next i would like to properly link my page. i was just getting to the fact that most information is from [3] . i meant to link this but my page was deleted. because of these reasons i hope you can give me a better understanding of what went wrong when i planned to make a nerusy page on wikipedia. thanks ever so much, and your amazing Simonmrubenstein (talk) 01:18, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Not promotional? A list (catalog) of everything the organization does. Included this line for example: "The cost to join is $6.13. For information please see your chapter". You say that is not promotional? Maybe you should understand that this is an encyclopedia, not a place for advertisement. If it were not promotional, it would still have been removed for lack of assertion of notability. Lots of claims, not one independent verifiable reliable source. The one you mentioned in this message is to their own website. Hardly impartial and independent, don't you think? Please read the notability rules or better yet, Wikipedia's policies to understand what we are all about. -- Alexf(talk) 01:31, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Flisa Fotball

Hi there. I noticed on Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Norway articles by quality log that Flisa Fotball had been deleted. I was a little surprised that this existed as I thought the name of the wiki-article would be Flisa IL (as used in the 2011 Norwegian Third Division article). This club is notable, and I was a little surprised that it was speedy deleted as it has existed for more then two years (atleast that's what this page tells me). If you are kind and undelete or userfy the article, I a will do my best to improve the article up to Wikipedia-standards. Notice that it's not "my" article, I'm just a guy trying to improve articles on Norwegian football. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 17:31, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Is this the same as Flisa IL? (which has no article). The Flisa Fotbal article did not show notability under WP:NFOOTBALL. Can you ascertain it is the same and it meets these requirements? It it is the same and is in Norwegian Third Division, then it meets. Please confirm, then I'll userfy. -- Alexf(talk) 19:01, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Un-delete Toby Gray article

Who exactly is a vandal?

I took time to create an article about the Orchestra Mozart, and you deleted it, possibly because you thought it was not worthwhile. An orchestra whose musical director is Claudio Abbado? One of the few orchestras in the world whose every concert sells out? An orchestra with ten CDs on Deutsche Grammophon? In doing so you have created dead links in many Wikipedia articles: well done, genius! I suggest you google the Orchestra Mozart and have a look at the results Because you don't know anything about anything, you challenge those who do and destroy their work. You threaten "vandals" a lot on this page. But what I see is that you spend time destroying other people's efforts. What is that if not vandalism? (I can also see that there is a Wikipedia article on Chris Crocker, which shows that you have not deleted *that* sort of nonsense. That speaks volumes.S.Camus (talk) 11:36, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

I see you might be confused by our myriad rules and policies. To answer your question, here is the explanation of vandalism in Wikipedia. In short is says: "Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia". Please read the page an you will have a better understanding that will probably clear your confusion. The article you mentioned (but did not link to as requested) was removed for failure to assert notability under WP:MUSIC. You were duly notified by the editor that placed the speedy deletion notice. Deleting and article under the rules is not vandalism. You also mentioned other articles, (Claudio Abbado, Chris Crocker) and asked why I did not delete those. The answer is because they have not come up in the deletion boards (either CSD, PROD or AfD) and with good reason, as those articles are properly sourced. That said, if you asked politely I would be willing to userfy the article for you to work on. Hope this explains the issue. -- Alexf(talk) 11:51, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

1. What language is "anoother articles" supposed to be? You claim that "This user is able to contribute with a professional level of English". 2. I would like you to prove your claim that I asked you to delete the article about Claudio Abbado. I am afraid you have serious problems understanding what you read. 3. What link is there between an aticle appearing on Wikipedia and somebody being polite to you? That makes as much sense as saying "people buying the Encyclopedia Britannica will not find an article on London in it because Mr Brown said something to Mr Black that Mr Black did not like". Thanks to you, people who might want to know about this orchestra will not find an article about it in Wikipedia. What a great contribution on your part. 4. The "not polite" is intenable. You are guilty of two things here: a) Utter lack of proportion. Not being polite to you does not compare with you destroying other people's work. b) You are pretending that the cause is actually the effect. First you destroy somebody's work because you do not have a clue what they are writing about (which only shows that you don't have a clue, not that the topic is not valid), then they are not polite to you (how surprising), then you say that the deletion is justified because this person is not polite to you, although that was caused by your destruction. 5. Because you do not have a clue what an article is about, you challenge its writer and destroy their work, and I have no respect for ignorance when it claims to rule over kowledge. S.Camus (talk) 18:12, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Alexf, despite S.Camus's climbing of the Reichstag above he/she is correct - there was credible claim to notability. The A7 was IMO misapplied by UKExpat. I have been bold and restored the article. Regards to both of you. Syrthiss (talk) 18:33, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Syrthiss, I see your point and can live with it S.Camus has to take a chill pill and count to 10 before climbing of the Reichstag. I was writing a response that crossed with your edit. I rephrased it based on this latest information, but basically said to relax and to show that if he had a complaint, Deletion Review is thataway. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 18:47, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi there ALEX, VASCO here,

why was this page protected even for REGISTERED users? I would like to contribute to the piece, this is quite odd. Also, one thing you could allow people to change is the ghastly display of international career in BOX (61 caps in one year, powerful!).

Attentively - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 23:56, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Oh it was you, my apologies as you undoubtedly acted in good faith. But even if it is correct he has not retired officially, as you very well wrote in your summary, the correct way to put it in the infobox would be "2004-", not "2004" without the dash, "2004-" still indicates no retirement, "2004-2012" indicates retirement. Regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:02, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
There was excessive edit warring. Semi-protection would not stop the edit warriors. It was protected for four days. I unprotected it now, a day early. Hopefully they will stop, come to their senses, and discuss it in the talk page. (We should be so lucky). -- Alexf(talk) 00:04, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks indeed! For now, i will only add some links and make that dash replacement in box, i know this is quite controversial, and User:Marcospace is very difficult to deal with, albeit not a vandal no siree. Yes, we should be so lucky... --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:06, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Dear Alexf

You have previously deleted the above reference page as you have said that it does not meet the editorial style required for Wikipedia. I have created a new page but tried to make it more in line with the requirements of Wikipedia. In case you should find anything objectionable, please let me know and I will amend it but I request you not to delete it or mark it for speedy deletion.

It is not my intention to contravene your guidelines but I do think it is information which the public at large wouldbe interested to read about.

I would be grateful if you can agree to this.

Regards Harmeetahuja (talk) 10:19, 11 June 2012 (UTC) Harmeetahuja

The removal was not because of the "editorial style" as you put it although the style used is unacceptable under the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. It was because the article did not meet the notability requirements under WP:PEOPLE. The current version doesn't either. For a BLP article you have to have a minimum of reliable sources to assert notability, e neutral and not have any original research. The article has no sources and violates these requirements. Furthermore as you were duly notified before, autobiographies are strongly discouraged. -- Alexf(talk) 10:44, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi there! I wanted to inform that this is re-created. So can you please protect it so that only admins can create it. Happy editing! →TSU tp* 15:39, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of dK'Tronics article

Hi,

I was following a blue link to the article dK'Tronics when I noticed it had apparently been deleted, literally the previous day. The reason given (under your account) was

(G6: Housekeeping and routine (non-controversial) cleanup)

I had a look at the article via the Google cache here, and it seems to be reasonably well-written article (with a number of references) for a company that was moderately prominent in its day (and major enough to have released an officially-licensed Popeye game, as the article notes).

I have to admit that I'm still at a loss to see what was flawed enough about the article that it warranted immediate deletion, let alone so obvious as to fall under "housekeeping and routine (non-controversial) cleanup". Please excuse my ignorance, but I'd be grateful if you could briefly explain this decision.

Ubcule (talk) 13:29, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Nothing wrong here. If you look you will see it is there at DK'Tronics. It was just an administrative temporary removal to reuse the name (move) the article to properly display. Cheers! -- Alexf(talk) 13:34, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Having checked, the article I arrived at via the link- and the one that was still deleted until I made it into a redirect- was Dk'tronics (i.e. different capitalisation).
I don't (and can't) know what was there before, but I'm guessing it had been a redirect to the main version. While that's no major loss in itself, it's unfortunate that it resulted in the impression that the article had been deleted with no indication to the contrary. I assume that this was a mistake, but as mentioned above, it's been fixed now. Ubcule (talk) 13:45, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Correct. Sorry about the confusion. -- Alexf(talk) 13:47, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

As you are probably aware - all articles are copypaste moves with a change of title and altered names. -Cntras (talk) 15:16, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

No. I was not aware. I saw they are all a mess to begin with. I nominated one for CSD being empty and saw you nominated a couple. I am not qualified in the music scene so I preferred to abstain of making decisions to delete outright. Thanks for the info. Please tag them accordingly and nominate for CSD or PROD if they fall within the deletion policy. -- Alexf(talk) 15:19, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Peter de Colechurch (Deleted Oct 2010)

I see you deleted this page due to some infraction of Wikipedia's made up rules (the ones designed to keep Jimbo's game from never ending). Anyway as I began to write my complaint, I could see what type of person you are; irking me straight away.

"I reserve the right to remove and/or ignore any any message that does not comply with the above requirements."

So you like to do what you want, but do not like it when the hoi polloi have the temerity to lash back? When they mock your god-like decisions? And just like God only the pious who come cap in hand and all deferential, may be feigned upon by "His" omnipotence. You make the decisions, so live with the consequences....

Anyway you deleted "Peter de Colechurch" (better known as Peter of Colechurch) because the person was not notable. NOT NOTABLE? What about here, here here, oh and here (BTW took me all of 10 seconds to do the search). He was the cleric who was given Letters Patent by Henry II of England for designing and engineering the original medieval London bridge in the 12th century!!? Without him the world-famous London Bridge would never have been built! Where is the WP:Good Faith or the WP:Be Bold; it's supposed to mean take a chance but on here with the likes of you, unlikely! It took me all of 10 seconds to make this case, but instead you deleted the article without doing any of those things.

With your stellar logic why not delete John A. Roebling or have you heard of him? You know, this site does not really because of actions like this. I hope you get my point? But you won't, you'll probably delete this too because its point is actually too pertinent! Wikipedia is a place of convenience; nothing more, nothing higher. Peter de Colechurch was a historical individual who shaped the future of medieval London. By just deleting an article without even first researching the topic is just an epic fail, because by not checking its factuality exposes you accusations of laziness, ignorance and, to be quite frank, a violation of WP:IDL. As an administrator, you should set an example of probity and good faith first and last. IMO I don't think you do that, and looking at the number of complaints in your archives; and the fact you ask people not to chew you up for what you do, marks you down in my book as someone who should not be in position of a responsibility. 86.147.58.96 (talk) 12:18, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

You done? Good. The article simply had one sentence. Quote: "This man died during the consturction of the modern London Bridge. He was a citizen of England. That's all I know, sorry.". That's why it was deleted. Now, about your accusations, I see you needed to vent some pent up anger or something. Did it feel good? If you plan on being civil and offer constructive criticism, then by all means. If you plan to complain and insult, then this may not be the place for you. If you are unhappy with the volunteer work I do, there are places you can go to log a complaint. Have a nice day. -- Alexf(talk) 12:33, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Mission of Mercy Magazine and Worldwide Faith Missions

I came upon your involvement in the AfD nomination of an article about the magazine of Worldwide Faith Missions (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mission of Mercy Magazine for the discussion). I have nominated Worldwide Faith Missions, another article which was written by the same author as the Mission of Mercy Magazine article, up for AfD. I have tried to find sources on Google to verify the notability of the subject. After having ploughed through many Google results, I have not been able to find one reliable source to establish Worldwide Faith Missions as a notable NGO. Apart from the author of the Worldwide Faith Missions article and myself, there has been no response so far on its AfD page. Would you mind having a look at this AfD perhaps? You can find it here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Worldwide Faith Missions. I have also asked other Wikipedia contributors (see User_talk:Phil_Bridger#Johannes_Maas_and_Worldwide_Faith_Missions, User_talk:Ἀλήθεια#Johannes_Maas_and_Worldwide_Faith_Missions and User talk:HokieRNB) who were active on the Johannes Maas AfD discussion (another article which was written by the same contributor who wrote Worldwide Faith Missions), to contribute to the present AfD. Thank you. - Takeaway (talk) 04:51, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

ENlight Cloud Page

Hey Alex, I had requested to remove eNlight Cloud Page that I had written because I registered with an improper name on Wiki. I studied a lot of articles here on wiki to ensure that the article does not breach any Wiki rules. When I try to create the page again it says that I have to take your permission before recreating it. Can you please confirm whether I am allowed to publish the same article with my current nick. I will also appreciate if you can share some light on the content and let me know if it needs any improvement. I am planning to publish the "exact same" content. Thank you for your advice. Martin.H1988 (talk) 12:38, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

A link would be appreciated, as stated on the top of this edit page. Note that when you say "wiki" you mean Wikipedia. Wiki is a type of software created by Ward Cunningham. As per guidelines or help pages, I would suggest you take a look at Your First Article. -- Alexf(talk) 12:53, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
I went ahead and searched. It was over 1500 deletions and over a month ago! You should always provide a redlink when requesting info on a deleted article. I don't see a lock on the article name so it could be recreated. As per writing exactly the same, note that it needs assertion of notability through reliable sources which it did not have; (just had circular primary sources}. Please also read about the issues with conflicts of interest and why they matter. -- Alexf(talk) 13:00, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Sure Alex, Thanks for your comments. I will ensure that the article meets all listed criteria. Martin.H1988 (talk) 15:30, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Dear Alexf,

The mentioned article has been published in Persian yoga science magazine in Tehran/I.R.iran as I had refrenced it. So I translated to publish it through my weblog and wikipedia. The divine Energy in mankind refers to kundalini in yoga ,and its arousal is called kundalini awakening in yoga. there are many wrong beliefs due to its awakening and dangrous malignant physical techniques. Please tell me how I can reproduce it in an acceptable way and also let me know the article's specified deletion criteria.

Thanks

Lopez Article - Your Edit is Mistaken

Alex,

This is one of the reason I quit contributing to Wikipedia. Why not ask what the source of the information is before going after someone else's contribution?

http://www.providencephoenix.com/archive/features/98/06/25/LOPEZ.html: "Ed Lopez is an atypical politician. Perhaps most interesting, though, he is a Hispanic Republican in an age when that classification is virtually an oxymoron. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of a Guatemalan father and a Puerto Rican mother..."

The subject is from Portsmouth - his ethnic background is another issue and is corroborated in the first source of the original Wiki article.

--Chapin2012 (talk) 21:07, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Ah, but if you have a reference (assuming the The Phoenix Media/Communications Group is a reliable source), why not put it int he article to begin with? -- Alexf(talk) 21:51, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Alex, you mean as in quote the article itself?

--Chapin2012 (talk) 22:03, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

I went back to the article to see where the ref was. Just added one more instance. -- Alexf(talk) 22:56, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

SPI

I noticed you added a new SPI case, but you added it to the archive, which means no one will see it, typically. When the case is in the /archive/ you need to start a new case, which will automatically link everything up from the archive per the bots. I will see if I can patch it up, but future cases that are closed are archived should be started from scratch. Dennis Brown - © 21:48, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Oops. I have never started one before. I see your point. I just blocked yet another of the same guy, adding the same autobio text about him. Will add diffs then. Sorry about that. -- Alexf(talk) 21:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh. Forgot that the spam/autobio has been deleted so diffs won't be visible. Drats. -- Alexf(talk) 21:58, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
    • Not a prob, it was added ABOVE a decision, so it looked like the decision included it. When it is started as fresh, then it gets archived in a section below. That helps us when the name comes up again. No biggie, I think I fixed, I'm just a trainee there, so it gave me something new to fix ;) deleted contribs, or just noting them is fine, I will likely just close it so it can be archived properly. Dennis Brown - © 21:59, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
I see. Thanks. As I said I have not dealt with SPI cases much. I had seen him blocked earlier this week and I saw him just re-creating the account and same text again today, so I blocked then I figured I'd add another instance to the SPI list. I see what I did wrong. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 22:14, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Alexf! I didn't mean to violate any of the rules while changing (not adding) a link to php-amf3 on Action Message Format. The link I was trying to change is already pointing to the php-amf3 extension page on Sourceforge for which the author is me. I just tried to point it to the new location on Github since the project's repository has moved. That's it! Sorry if it seems disruptive for you. I'm totally fine leaving it alone. Furthermore, I was the person who added the original link two or more years ago.:-) Neoxic (talk) 19:23, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: You posted a Resume

Hi,

I did post a very limited version of my background just by way of letting people know who I am. Now I have cut it down further to EXCLUDE all information about my experience and interests as well. So all that remains is mostly my EDUCATION and my JOB TITLE.

I trust that is acceptable to Wikipedia.

request to not delete my page

Hi

I'd like to request my page back please Loveboat_(band)

I believe this band to be notable.

They are closely linked to Jon Mcclure/reverend and the makers who are currently high in the uk charts. (please See article) Also the band now after receiving BBC radio airplay have their own BBC site

http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/e0a51074-30e9-48e4-927b-5556b525eebc

The problem now is that the BBC use wikipedia entries to edit biographies and you've deleted it, so obviously that directly effects the BBC site.

How can a band working at it full time, with credible work relations/artists, currently being played on BBC Radio not be notable?

many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sir fritzgerald 3rd (talkcontribs) 11:58, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

I'll be glad to userfy the article if you request it. What you say may be true but the article did not show it. It had no sources at all. In order for the article on the band to stay it must meet the requirements under WP:MUSIC. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 12:40, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi if you could userfy it that would be great, i could re-edit the article then (Sir fritzgerald 3rd (talk) 16:36, 28 June 2012 (UTC))

I have added in genuine sources/ref lists I will be editing this later in the week further, but for now i need the basic wikipedia link for the BBC as explained in the conversation previously many thanks (Sir fritzgerald 3rd (talk) 21:40, 1 July 2012 (UTC))

My article My 31st Demerit was deleted at 11:43, 28 June 2012, by you citing the reason No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content). I've provided a reliable source regarding the significance of the article but still, it got deleted. --Kmzayeem (talk) 14:30, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

So The Daily Star shows the band exists. That's about it. It does not show anything requested in WP:BAND that I can see. What I can see is that the article was basically a copyvio of the piece at the Daily Star. That's not cool. -- Alexf(talk) 14:43, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
So if I re-write the article with my own words but with the information given in the newspaper, can it be taken as an encyclopedic article?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kmzayeem (talkcontribs) 14:47, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Even if you re-rewrite, you have to read, and understand, the notability requirements under WP:BAND to see if it can stay. -- Alexf(talk) 14:50, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
I think the article meets the criterion Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city, the city is Chittagong, referred in the newspaper, this can be another reliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kmzayeem (talkcontribs) 15:00, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Not for me to decide. I'm not an expert on the music scene. Work it out offline or in a subpage, then post when you think it's ready. You may ask in the Project Musicians. If another editor objects and proposes for deletion, be prepared to defend it quoting policy. Good luck. -- Alexf(talk) 15:05, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Well, I think its ready, the above sources are proving it. If any other editor objects, I'm ready to defend but I don't think it will get any objection further. --Kmzayeem (talk) 15:14, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Whiskey Myers page deletion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Whiskey_Myers

Hey Alex, I did not create this page, but I was looking for it today and found that you had deleted a few months ago because of the A7 criteria. I'm not sure if I completely understand the purpose of this criteria, but it seems to be for deleting pages that are not about people, bands, or animals of real importance or notoriety. Being a Texas country music fan, I can assure you that this is not an appropriate reason for deleting the Whiskey Myers article as they are one of the largest acts currently performing in this genre. Thanks for your time and please reconsider the deletion of this article.

Dopezombie (talk) 23:34, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

They may well be what you say, but the article did not show it. It was a couple of sentences with no sources whatsoever. The article on a music act has to abide by the notability requirements under WP:MUSIC. This has to be shown with verifiable sources. You are welcome to write an article if you want. -- Alexf(talk) 00:21, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

I may just do that. Thanks for your time.
