Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.

A few features that you might find helpful:

Proposed deletion of List of military aircraft by era

The article List of military aircraft by era has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

wikipedia is not a random collection of lists, encyclopedic value of list is not clear and aircraft by era is covered by the categorisation system and individual lists by country. Also most major conflicts are covered by categories or lists.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Ranks and insignia of NATO armies officers

With this edit, you placed a template saying: "It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with Ranks and insignia of NATO armies enlisted. (Discuss)". Similarly at Ranks and insignia of NATO armies enlisted. However, I can not locate either discussion. Could you please direct me to the discussion(s)? Thanks, Pdfpdf (talk) 11:25, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

I haven't placed it anywhere yet. but I think I'll place my reasons for merging the various Enlisted and Officer ranks together here. Concerning a joke made in an AfD

Seriously...") was simply a joke, since the first airplane didn't fly until more than 38 years after Appomattox. Technically, there were "aircraft", since balloons were used for observation during the War, although they weren't very effective because they couldn't be defended. At this time i have declined your request to join WP:ACC. While i find it admirable that you wish to help i feel that you are still sort of finding your footing on Wikipedia. I would suggest trying out your new Reviewer right as MilHist is a fairly popular place to make use of it. I don't usually outright offer to but if you want some help in getting to know your way around Wikipedia and the policies and how things are done then i would be willing to help because i think that with a little guidance you could be a wonderful contributor. For one thing, i clerk at wikipedia:changing user name and i could help you or your brother through that.

I am actually the first person to get the "reviewer" user right itself here on Wikipedia, thought it was bundled into admin rights first. If you want to test it out there is http://flaggedrevs.labs.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page where you can get a feel for how "reviewer" works before you use it on articles here. Just ask for rights on that wiki's main page talk page and myself or another bureaucrat or admin on that wiki will grant you rights there.
