Help for an edit-a-thon on Wikipedia

Hey all,

If I were to conduct an edit-a-thon on a particular topic, do I need to contact an administrator to inform them of it? If yes, how would I go about doing this?

My main issue is that the articles edited/created during said edit-a-thon might get mass reverted/deleted instantly. I'm looking to make sure this doesn't happen.
