Clare Daly

I reverted your edits which labeled Clare Daly an atheist per BLP guidelines. The source you attributed the claim to did not appear to verify the claim. Yes, I realize the original claim was already there and added by someone else, but the source actually makes no mention of Daly identifying as an atheist. Well, I agree, me neither. Tongue was firmly in cheek, but sometimes tone is hard to convey via the internet. Anyways, the other person (who put some strict instructions in a hidden-html-comment telling me not to add cite-needed tags to his paragraph) has not responded to either my addition of cite-needed tags, or my invite, so my proposed 'edit-war' has turned out to be just myself.  :-) I'll go ahead and make my proposed changes in the main article, and see if anybody responds to those; you are welcome to do so, of course, if you feel like it. Libertarianism increasingly viewed as a free market ideology

Adam9389, thank you for modifying the "Etymology" section to fix the citation problem with the claim that libertarianism is increasingly viewed as a free-market ideology. I have a couple of comments on the change made:

  1. I don't see why we need sourcing, let alone multiple sources, for the fact that free-market libertarianism has propagated beyond the USA's borders;
  2. the sources don't say anything like "libertarianism is increasingly viewed as a free-market ideology."

I've removed all four sources used to support this sentence for these two reasons. If you feel that we need citations for the claim that capitalist libertarianism has spread beyond the USA, feel free to add them back, but I hope you won't add back the two sources for the second claim; we need a new source, one which actually supports this claim. Hi MisterDub. The sentiment that capitalist libertarianism exists almost at all outside the U.S. has been a contentious issue in the past on the Libertarianism talk page -- I don't know why. Perhaps that's changed, but I just figured two sources were better than one. I mean, ultimately everything on Wikipedia needs citations anyway and it's not like the use of multiple sources is a rarity. I've re-read all four sources (one now being dead evidently) and you're absolutely right about the latter two. I'll search for something better. But, for reasons stated, I would like to re-insert the first two sources regarding the spread, if you'll agree to it.
