I stopped.

I'm sorry. I didn't get the message until I had edited it a second time. I will not vandalize it again; I just thought the phrase was really damn funny. In the future, I will use the sandbox. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.112.54.247 (talkcontribs) 16:32, 9 April 2006

Hey there, glad you are along. How can I help? --Cool CatTalk|@ 08:14, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your warn thing

I have created a template of the warner, so people can put it on their page to warn people. The template is: User:Adam1213/warn/template. It the code is: Edit the page. The template parameters have an option for TOC or NOTOC, but the default is TOC. It says <!-- Made by [[User:Adam1213|Adam1213]] and [[User:ERcheck|ERcheck]] Add the username that you want to warn and click warn. Save the talk page. --> in invisible text. --GeorgeMoneyTalk  Contribs 22:23, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request

I have just discovered your fantastic auto-warning sistem. I've been trying to do something like that but I'm not a programmer; my idea was to have an input box to write an IP adress of a vandal and be linked to h ttp://www.samspade.org/t/lookat?a=[IP VANDAL]. I asked Lupin and he wrote a fast JS tool stub that is only usable in the "preview" mode , as I have no idea on how to make it well (I'm only able of copying and pasting code) and he's extremely busy, and nobody else would be able to use it, would you do it for me? (I know you wrote your tool in HTML, it is ok) —Argentino (talk/cont.) 15:17, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You don't really need to be a programmer to knoe how to use inputboxes. All you have to do is:
<inputbox>
type=comment
editintro=Dont touch this
preload=Template:Warning template
default=
buttonlabel=Warn
bgcolor=#66FF33
width=50
</inputbox>

Maths jokes!

I noticed your little collection of maths jokes and thought I might just tell you one that I heard. It goes like the binary one, with a slight difference.

There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those who understand binary, those who don't, and those who confuse it with ternary.

Request for Autowarn help

Hi Adam1213, Back in December, you showed me how to insert --~~~~ (a raw signature) into your autowarn templates by making a change to my preferences. I got a note from User:Inhuman14 (contribs) on my talk page saying he/she had accidentaly inserted their own signature into User:Adam1213/autowarn4. I tried to redo what you had directed before and I am unable to get it to work. (I made above example with "nowiki".) I don't know if something has changed since December, or if I'm just not getting it. Nonetheless, I'd appreciate it if you would make the repair to the autowarn4 template. Thanks. — ERcheck (talk) 17:12, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Unfortunately, with whatever change was made to prevent ~~~~ from being a signature, it seems that rolling it back would have the effect of putting in the current signature of the person who did the rollback. (I tried to experiment with various versions in the sandbox. Am I wrong? Did you try a rollback?) — ERcheck (talk) 04:17, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • BTW. Looks like the same thing happened on autowarn2 and autowarn4. Also, someone removed that sig from autowarn. Since that is the case, I'll use autowarn as a test of rollback. If it subst my sig, then I'll revert to the current version that has no sig (on autowarn). I'll let you know. — ERcheck (talk) 04:26, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever you did on my talk page worked to keep your signature. Quick ;-) fix autowarn, autowarn2, autowarn3, and autowarn4. (What did you do to make it work?) — ERcheck (talk) 05:43, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Argh!! I see why it seemed to work: You had an unclosed <nowiki> tag. — ERcheck (talk) 05:53, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Show Preview help

Hey, thanks dude. I just never really noticed that before and was getting a bit annoyed at myself for constantly not quite getting there with my edits the first time and having to go back once or twice to make them perfect :-) now that won't be happening again (or, if I'm being totally honest - as much!) Edit - erm, spoke too soon (forgot sig): --Andyroo316 04:54, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adam,

I see looking at the WikiProject user warnings page, that you are a participant in this project. I have recently started an undertaking to harmonise all user page warnings and templates. For this I would like your assistance. I have listed a number of ideas on the project template page here as a first draft. I fully appreciate that as with most editors and admins, that you are fairly busy. Therefore I am not looking for anyone to carry out the actual work, I am willing to do that myself, with help from a number of other RC Patrollers who have come forward. But what I am looking for is your invaluable input, on the draft ideas and also to suggest other ways you believe we may improve the templates. I do however require the services of a couple of administrators to put into effect some of the new templates, as they are currently protected. Please take 5 mins to look through the new templates page, and both the project and templates talk pages and leave any ideas or suggestions that you may have. Sorry. I didn't mean to. It was a mistake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.234.5.138 (talkcontribs) 18:20, 29 November 2006

Hi,

You have put yourself as interested in helping out atWikiProject on user warnings. We are now at a stage where we are creating the new templates and are wondering if you are still interested? If so please visit the overview page and choose a warning type you wish to work on. There is a base template available here, which you can copy and use to get you started. Have a look through the redirects and see what old templates are affected and incorporate them into the the new system. Anyway, any questions please don't hesitate to give me a shout. Konquest

Actually, the second time was a malformed AFD. I had bundled it with some other games, which was a horrible mistake on my part, and I fully admit that. The entire AFD went down in flames, and I haven't yet gotten around to fixing and renominating all of the nominations yet. There has been no AFD discussion on Konquest at this point, only a PROD which was removed. If I choose to take it to AFD again, it'll be the first time that the game has been discussed there (at least by my doing). And should I choose to do so, and my nomination fails, I'll certainly leave it alone. I don't appreciate your insinuation that I would keep putting it back up "for no reason". I don't have any malice towards the game, so please, don't think that I do. PMC 17:05, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Altronics logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Altronics logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. License tagging for Image:DSC2.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC2.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

WP:UW future?

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Noise Figure

Hi,

I have a question and will be very glad if you can provide me an answer. My question is that why is the noise figure defined using available power gain rather than transducer power gain or operating power gain?
