Re: Yume Nikki GA nom

I would suggest withdrawing your nomination of Yume Nikki until the page is further improved. GamerTell isn't a reliable source and TIGSource recently got shot down as one at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Sources#TIGSource. That leaves Kotaku only for reception. Hardcore Gaming 101, Wired and Rock Paper Shotgun could be part of the reception but are only used to provide gameplay info. August 2023 Good Article Nominations Backlog Drive reminder

The August 2023 Good Article Nominations Backlog Drive is at the halfway mark, and has seen incredible progress, dropping the backlog from 638 to 359 unreviewed articles -- a 43.7% reduction in only fifteen days! But we still have over two weeks to go, and there are plenty of articles left to review:

  • We've gone from 14 nominations 270+ days old and 65 nominations 180+ days old to 2 and 0 respectively. No more articles will reach 270+ status during the drive, and only three more will reach 180+ if unreviewed, so this is your last chance to get the higher age bonuses!
  • We still have plenty of articles in the 90+ range, but the list is shrinking fast.
  • Some articles need new reviewers, either because they're officially on second opinion or because the original reviews were deleted or invalidated. You can help prevent these articles from waiting longer!
  • While there are starting to be clear favourites for the Content Review Medal of Merit, the field is still very open. A late entrant can still pull an upset to get the most reviews in the drive!

And remember: if you've done reviews, you should log them at the backlog drive page for points, so they can be tracked towards your awards at the end.

Hi R9tgokunks, I'm sorry our edits conflicted, but it happens on occasion. I support the event as you've modified it now, and with the source you gave, so thank you for your improvements.
However, understand that I removed a wording which significantly misrepresented the source that was there, and because the source did not mention an announcement of a press conference, so I figured there was no reason for a June 7 entry, only a potential June 8. Unable to access source

Hi Adam, I saw you are a GA mentor so am hoping you could answer my question. I am currently reviewing History of education in Wales before 1701, but cannot access the main source of the article (Jones and Roderick, 2003) anywhere.

I have tried online searching, Wikipedia Library, google books but cannot find a way to access it at all.

Is it allowed to request a copy from the nominator if they have a digital one? Otherwise I see no way I could do this review. It is a wonderful world (talk) 21:31, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@It is a wonderful world: Your best option would be to choose a few of the citations to spotcheck and ask the nominator to send the pages necessary; if they have a physical copy they can scan them. If somehow they can't, you can ask at WP:RX. Since the book is so heavily referenced in the article, I wouldn't pass the nomination without being able to verify some of its claims.
