I previously raised this on the Help Desk on October 31 (advice there didn't take into account that this was a matter of numerous articles in a series,so there was no "the talk page" in particular to raise the issue).
I have now gone to the other user's talk page to dispute his position on deliberately deleting historically-included useful information.
This time I revised multiple articles in the series.

Hi, a human here. Many thanks for your efforts to improve WikiProject Middle-earth. The redirect was, of course, out of date; I've updated it to Isildur#Death where it is already discussed and cited. The non-WikiProject editors reverted you because the deleted article lacked WP:Notability, i.e. scholars and other Reliable Sources had not taken the time to discuss Estelmo. You are correct that the text had a WP:PRIMARY source, but while that proves Estelmo exists, it does not make him notable, so the editors did what policy says. Anyway, we've sorted out the mess now. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
