Hi Anemone, thanks for that. I did somehow think that the image wouldn't be allowed but I wasn't sure which template to use for recommending speedy deletion of them. One thing though, the user also tried to use the image that's on the Stacey Branning page. I take it we also can't use that? --5 albert square (talk) 18:40, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up Anemone. I did message the user after you reverted their last image and told them to go to Wikipedia Commons to find out what types of files are allowed and to obtain permission to use any files they don't own. Hopefully they will take this advice on board before uploading any more --5 albert square (talk) 19:02, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Hopefully. But then again, they've put on every photo that it was their own work, so I think they're just trying to get around uploading copyrighted images to Commons by lying. AnemoneProjectors (talk)19:06, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Really? Should really realise that Wikipedia will not fall for that. They've also just changed Stacey Branning's name. Never mind, I've reverted it back and told them to look at the talk page for the character. Hopefully they will also do that :) --5 albert square (talk) 19:16, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Do you know what, I really like you as a Wikipedia editor. You learn from your mistakes, are always polite and always assume good faith! I don't know how involved you are with the EastEnders WikiProject, though I know you're a member - it's just that I've noticed lately that we don't have anonymous editors updating storyines regularly like we used to. I did lots of them yesterday but would you be interested in updating articles as well as sorting out vandalism and stuff? It's ok if you don't really have time, but we do lack editors who actually add good material to our articles. AnemoneProjectors (talk)22:10, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Awww thank you Anemone! Yes I'm a member of EastEnders WikiProject but don't know much about it to be quite honest. I've just added most if not all of the EastEnders and Neighbours cast list to my watchlist and I do update the storylines for both soaps if I think they're important to the characters development. Yes I would be interested in helping EastEnders WikiProject further if I can. How would you like me to help? --5 albert square (talk) 22:29, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
I dunno, just like, updating storylines if you happen to come across any that haven't been updated for a while, presuming you can remember them! That's about it really. I don't know how good you are at writing about characters from a real-world perspective. AnemoneProjectors (talk)23:17, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, sure, I'll do that. I'd say I was quite good at writing about characters from a real-world perspective. If not then someone will tell me and I'll learn from it! As a matter of fact I've just been catching up on EE to find out if there's anything I can update on the Christian/Syed/Amira love triangle. I'd really love to know who took the photo on that mobile! --5 albert square (talk) 23:37, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Basically, when you look at our articles, the sections on creation, development, reception, etc, are writtin from a real-world perspective. Some of the articles don't have any real-world perspective so it needs to be added. Some articles have sources listed on the talk page but they haven't been used yet, otherwise it might be necessary to search on Google. Not having these sections is slightly worrying as it could mean articles end up nominated for deletion! Probably the best way to learn is to look at the examples we already have. That's my main concern but just updating storylines is good too because they do need to be kept up to date. Of course, you don't need to feel lke you should start doing stuff tomorrow, if you want you can just carry on as you are. I'm just trying to get more help as the addition of storylines has slowed down a lot recently. AnemoneProjectors (talk)00:45, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't know if you saw, but there was some major vandalism done to the Neighbours page today. I've, hopefully, got the page back to how it was, but I was just wondering if you could check it over and see if I've missed anything. Thank you. :) JuneGloom07 (talk) 13:06, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi June, I've just had a quick look at Neighbours just now and I think you've got it all. I'm at work just now, not on my usual pc with all my anti-vandal tools (!) so will look at the page properly when I get home. If I'm in any doubt I'll just revert to a page from yesterday that is vandal-free. In the meantime, given the amount of vandalism, I'm going to request temp page protection for the article. That way, providing it's granted, anon IPs won't be able to vandalise it :) 5 albert square (talk) 13:32, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi, sorry to bother you. Just noticed the same user who added the Falkland Islands to the International Broadcasts section added the same information again. Like last time it wasn't backed up with a source/reference, so I removed it. I decided to check what other edits they had done and noticed they had been to a few television shows pages and added info under the broadcasting sections that isn't backed up. I'm still learning about Wikipedia and don't feel that I should try and warn them about unreferenced edits, incase I do it wrong. I was just wondering if you could help or point me in the direction of an admin. Thank you in advance.
On another note, I've checked the whole Neighbours article for spelling and grammar and I think everything is okay now. I also found and added a reference to the 'Video Game' section. :) JuneGloom07 (talk) 22:03, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi again June, I've just been reading the Neighbours article and have sent the user a warning about adding such unreferenced material to Wikipedia. I know that I googled this last night and could find no evidence of Neighbours being broadcast here. I'll also look at the other edits that they've carried out today and warn them appropriately. --5 albert square (talk) 22:10, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Hey! I think our old friend is back, the one adding the Falkand Islands to the International Broadcasts section. They've also added two other countries this time with no refs again. JuneGloom07 (talk) 21:06, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey! I just had a look and his edits are all along the same lines, some TV station with a weird name is showing all these programmes? Anyway I've issued him with a final warning as he's made some 15 edits like this over the last two days. If he edits like this again within the next 24 hours I would report him to WP:AIV --5 albert square (talk) 21:36, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi. The Neighbours page was vandalised today, so I've undone that. Elle Robinson (Pippa Black) left the show yesterday and someone has added her to the 'Notable former cast members' section. I'm thinking of removing her from there, as I don't think she's that notable yet. Let me know what you think. JuneGloom07 (talk) 11:51, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, yeah I agree, she's not yet a notable actress. I'm going on just now so I'll restore the page to a previous version to ensure we are rid of all vandalism. --5 albert square (talk) 14:25, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Afternoon, I've just seen that our Falkland Islands friend has been busy again adding edits to Everbody Hates Chris and some other pages. Also, I was wondering about the note on the Neighbours Theme song section. I don't know how much work was done to the section when the note was placed there, but I can't see how to prune/improve the section without losing important info. If only there hadn't been all those different versions of the theme, lol. :) JuneGloom07 (talk) 14:34, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Perfectblend has a good page about the theme song and it's many versions. You can find it in the Music section under 'You've Changed Your Tune!'. On the offical Neighbours site, there's a small page on Neighbours: The Music (the CD mentioned in Version 5 of the theme song). - JuneGloom07 (talk) 18:13, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for that. I just properly cited all the references on the page and have placed the article under construction meantime. I will look at those pages and see what we can use from them --5 albert square (talk) 19:22, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey, did you have fun checking out all the references the other day? lol. Someone moved some of the current cast & characters around today in the table, I couldn't work out why they had done it, so I just reverted it back to how it was before. I've also just seen that someone added Vanuatu to the broadcasting section again. I'm wondering if it's the same person from before? I've changed it back because I can't find any evidence that Neighbours was broadcast there. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 21:27, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I just noticed that. The person also did the same to 3 other pages so I've issued them with a final warning. If they do it again I would say within the next 24 hours, we can report them to WP:AIV so hopefully admin will intervene. I don't mind the person making the edits just so long as they provide proof in English that what they're saying is true! At the moment we've no proof that Neighbours is broadcast there, let alone that it's the aussie version! --5 albert square (talk) 22:42, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, it seems a few people weren't happy with you changing the 'original channel' back to how it was. The same editor came back and changed it again and then another editor added some other details in the article about the day Neighbours first aired. The second editor hasn't added any refs to the article to back up the their info, but they have mentioned them in the edit summary. I wasn't sure whether to change them back or not. Another editor removed the hidden comment about Ringo's departure, so I changed that back. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 12:49, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I'm not too bothered about that but if it comes up when Neighbours gets it's GA review we may have to remove it again and put a hidden comment in asking for it not to be re-inserted. The edit about the first airing of Neighbours seems ok providing it's true but the references should be inserted in the article not in the edit summary. Yeah I noticed that editor had also removed the same info from Ringo Brown. I sent a quick note to him about both pages and explained that Sam Clark is only in talks about coming back. In showbiz nothing is guaranteed until a contract is signed! --5 albert square (talk) 13:13, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Afternoon, I've just watched today's episode of Neighbours (at Oz pace) and the name of Libby & Dan's baby was mentioned as Sean Thomas Fitzgerald. I've reverted an edit on the Neighbours article today by someone who added a new character & actress without backing up the info with a ref. They also added the same actress to the Shortland Street cast list, so I've removed that edit and warned them appropriately. The actress can't be in two shows at once! - JuneGloom07 (talk) 12:27, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey! Sometime this morning this user, User talk:114.77.83.31, decided to edit the 'Notable former cast members' table (and Ringo's page). From what I can see in the history, they added Caitlin Stacey (spelling her last name wrong) & Liam Hemsworth to the bottom of the list, but not before moving them around a bit disrupting the table. I was going to revert the edits, but there are 5 of them and was wondering if there was a way to revert all 5 at once? - JuneGloom07 (talk) 13:04, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Hi, if I remember correctly you go to the last good version of the page and click restore? Something like that. That said, I'll go check the Neighbours page out just now and revert it using WP:TW --5 albert square (talk) 14:43, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey. I see that someone was busy on a few character pages earlier today, I can't see anything wrong with edits at the moment. They moved Lou in with the Ramsay's, but I haven't seen today's episode to see if this happened or not. I haven't done any work on the Neighbours pages today, but I'm going to have a look at Rebecca's page tomorrow. I removed a section called 'Memorable Moments' from Zeke Kinski's page yesterday, I asked on the talk page if anyone objected and since no one replied I removed it. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 21:39, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Good evening. I've been busy in the past few days clearing up the vandalism that's been appearing on the Neighbours page and various character pages, such as Donna Freedman. Luckily, I've got it all cleaned up and back to normal fairly quickly. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 20:35, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey, our Falkland Islands friend is back! They added a few countries to the 'International Broadcasts' section, which I reverted and removed straight away. Just going to check their history to see what else they've been up to. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 20:08, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi. Someone vandalised Ringo's page and then removed their vandalism a few minutes later, how odd is that? Congrats on another Barnstar, btw. :) - JuneGloom07 (talk) 14:13, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, can you have a look at the external link that a user added to the Neighbours article today? The description says it's the top internet discussion board for Neighbours, but it didn't look that important to me. It just appears to be a forum discussing Neighbours & isn't officially related to the show in any way. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 15:38, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Hello, just a quick apology regarding the Eloise Mignon page, but I did undo it after I realised there was a clash. Thanks for the welcome, in any case, and if I can help you in that area with anything let me know- I have quite a good fan knowledge of that area if that's of any use. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wedgely (talk • contribs) 22:32, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
CSD for Total Drama Island Duncan
I removed the CSD A1 tag from Total Drama Island Duncan and replaced it with a PROD notice. A1 speedy delete criteria is for an article that lacks sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. A quick search of Total Drama Island within the article showed the context it was attempting to discuss. If you have any questions feel free to message me either here or at my talk page. Kindly CalmerWaters02:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Sure, I'm still quite new to the speedy delete thing and am just learning how to use Twinkle with it. I tagged the article the way I did because I honestly thought it was a hoax or was just plain vandalism --5 albert square (talk) 21:02, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
No problems :) It tends to be an area of great contention and needed clarity. There is a small essay from a well experienced admin in that area here that helped me greatly in understanding the finer points of CSD. Thanks again and keep up the good work your doing. Kindly CalmerWaters05:48, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
Someone's been editing Libby's page, they've changed her name back to Kennedy and changed and added info. I'm in the middle of something at the moment, could you have a look and possibly revert what ever needs reverting. Thank you. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 01:02, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, today I found this article - India.Napier. I was wondering if we should change the name (move it), so it doesn't contain the full stop and put the link in the Neighbours cast list? Let me know what you think. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 18:08, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
Edit: Oh hell, I just caught up with todays Neighbours and Five (TV channel) announced that tomorrow will be the last Neighbours before it takes it's winter break. Oh hell, that means like a good month or so without Neighbours, how the hell will I survive?! And I'm just getting into Dan's return, Lynn struggling with no supplies and was looking forward to Lou working at Charlies! --5 albert square (talk) 00:31, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I wasn't sure what to do about the page, whether to place a deletion notice on it or edit it in case it was decided it should be moved (which I eventually did). Perhaps, when she does some growing up she'll get her own page. We both have to wait till Jan for more episodes, though you only have to wait till the 4th, I'll be waiting until the 11th. I don't suppose the Five episode will end on a cliff hanger like the one in Aus did. Oh, look what else I found today - Decget. There sure are a lot of fans who love Bridget and Declan. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 16:03, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I've heard of Decget before but not joined it myself. If I remember correctly there's a link to it on both Bridget and Declan's pages. Someone edited the Neighbours page today to change Rebecca Napier to Rebecca Robinson but I've changed it back meantime. I might check Neighbours Australia page over the winter break to see if they change Rebecca Napier to Robinson, if that changes I'd say it's likely she'll be credited Rebecca Robinson and we can change or ask Wikipedia admin to change her page to Rebecca Robinson then. By the way, I think you get our EastEnders over in Australia, have you seen what I've had to do on Lauren Branning's page over the last couple of days? All the edit warring that's gone on! The page has had to be locked, one editor has been blocked because of his disruptive editing on the page. He was originally blocked I think for 1 day but it's been increased because he launched a personal attack on the mods. All this because the character decided to move out temporarily from her home on Friday! --5 albert square (talk) 11:42, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
I've just left an answer to your post on the Neighbours talk page. I checked the Neighbours Aus characters page today and Rebecca's name hasn't been changed yet, but I'll ask someone in the forums if it will be changed at some point. Oops, have just realised you think I live in Australia, I don't. I live in England. :) I just watch Neighbours at Aus pace as I got impatient one year when Five's episodes took a break and I wanted to find out what happened next. It also means I can watch the Christmas eps in December and not March, lol. I had a look at Lauren Branning's page, I'm glad I don't edit/watch that page at the moment. Maybe someone should write to the script writers and ask if she can move back home as soon as possible to stop the trouble on her page. I was editing the Elf article yesterday, I only went to check out what songs were on the soundtrack and then I saw that it needed some work and so I got editing. I think I've improved it as it needed a full cast list (unless there really was only three actors in the film), the soundtrack listed wasn't the correct one (some of the songs weren't even in the film!) and there was only one reference for the whole article. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 23:52, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Hello, I was just wondering what i need to do to allow article about Scrambled Brains on Toast to be posted permanently. I really don't see the problem. It may not be a professional movie, but it is still a feature length production. If you think i am making this up then you can check out the youtube page. http://www.youtube.com/user/SBOTFILM
I really do hope that you consider allowing it to stay on.
OK, from what I can make out, the people reporting it seem to be looking for some sort of proof that the film is notable? They're also looking for some form of reference. It may be that if it's only a short film being made by your friends then it wouldn't be mentionable in Wikipedia, from my experience it would only tend to be major films that would be worthy of a mention. What also seems to be causing them some concern is that it is a previously deleted page? I would suggest that you contact the editors that nominated the article for deletion, they may be able to advise you further.
As you say that this is a film being made by your friends I would advise that you exercise great caution when doing the following:
1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles.
Thanks very much for your advice. It's just really frustrating that the editors keep taking it off. It's not a major film but it's not a short. Thanks for your time.
So, I take it you've seen the review? What did you think? I'm currently writing up a better lead for the article, using Eastenders and The Bill as a guide. I knew the Awards section was going to come up, so I'm also trying to find information and refs for this, though the only ref I've come up with so far is IMDB. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 21:18, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Yep I've seen it if I'm honest I'm not surprised by any of it. I've made a couple of edits, I've moved the ref from the lead into the main section. I've also mentioned that it's now an on-going soap opera and that it started in the UK in 1986 though we will need to ref that last part of my sentence! I can't see that being a problem though --5 albert square (talk) 21:24, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
I'm just about to add the new lead I've written. Please let me know what you think, especially if it needs changing or more info needs to be added or taken out. I know it said in the review that references shouldn't be used in the lead, however, EastEnders uses them to reference the awards bit, so I've done the same. If it's a problem, I'll just remove them. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 22:56, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
I will do, I didn't really understand WP:LEAD much either. I've had the awards page changed to a better name and will begin to sort that out. Did we decide what we're going to do with the characters? I do like the way the Eastenders article has it's characters section. I guess, I'm just thinking it would be easier to place the tables on one page and then mention the first, important and long serving characters/familes in the main article like they have. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 23:28, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
I think I'll go with what EastEnders did. At the end of the day if we don't like it, I can go to an earlier version of Neighbours page, copy and paste the table and just re-insert it back to the current version! --5 albert square (talk) 23:36, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I'm going to move the characters if that's okay with you. I'm going to move/re-name the 'Current characters of Neighbours' page to 'List of characters from Neighbours'. All the tables will be on the page with links to the past and recurring characters. I'm just not sure what to do with the celebrity and notable appearances sections, do I move them too or leave them where they are and we'll sort them later? - JuneGloom07 (talk) 12:22, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
RE: The notable cast section. What do you think about laying out this section like The Bill? I've already started, but let me know if you think we should do something else - JuneGloom07 (talk) 14:21, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, don't pay too much attention to what I say. I can tell you what you need to make it a GA and I can advise, but at the end of the day, take whatever format you think works best. Anyway, I just dropped by to say I've just seen Neighbours: Celebrity Guest Appearances (I was on the new pages so I've patrolled it for you). Just a (non-GA-related) suggestion: can we make the ofnt full size and use section headings for the years and, if possible, the name of the character! Have fun! HJMitchellYou rang? 21:21, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Sorry to bother you again! I'm thinking of removing Kimberley Davies from the list. I can't work out why she's that notable, she appears to have had a few guest appearances on some TV shows. She isn't a singer or film actress. What do you think, cut her from the list and add Jackie instead? - JuneGloom07 (talk) 01:21, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
Just FYI. No need to reply but I thought I'd flag this up so you see it when you log in. Someone's been lighting up my watchlist. Looks like good faith, but you're the expert! HJMitchellYou rang? 17:42, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
I've worked on the Locations section today. I re-named it Settings (like the Eastenders article), edited the info and added refs. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 19:20, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Evening, I've finished with the broadcast section. I took out the countries that I couldn't find refs for, that was mainly the former broadcasts though (it's hard to find refs for a show that used to be broadcast years ago). - JuneGloom07 (talk) 22:25, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh, just seen your edit to the broadcasting section. Good thinking about merging the UK broadcasts. I thought the article looked a little odd with two UK broadcasting sections. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 23:32, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, would you have a look at the (many) changes to the Neighbours article today when you have a minute. I've asked at HJ's page about the newly added titles section (which I feel should be removed or merged with the theme song section, like The Bill), so I'm waiting for an answer from him before I do anything. I've informed the new editor of the GA nomination and the review. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 17:01, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm now confused. Who's the new reviewer? Is HJ no longer the reviewer? I'll have a look at the discussion page tonight but it may be a couple of days before I make any edits again as I'm not feeling too well --5 albert square (talk) 22:31, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
HJ is still the reviewer, sorry I confused you. I see what I did, I should have said that I have informed the new editor about the GA nomination and the review. I'm just trying to fix the small things that HJ has flagged up tonight. I really hope you feel better soon! :) - JuneGloom07 (talk) 22:42, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, how are you? I'm guessing you've had a look at the Neighbours article. HJ has removed the theme song section to a seperate article, he also removed the many headings for the titles section and renamed the character lists page. I've added the Popularity and viewership section to put the ratings info in and I removed the (long) list of Exec producers leaving only the current one. I'm currently writing up some info for the history section, just having a little trouble finding refs. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 21:15, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, am not really any better, was off work today with the cold :(. I've just been saying to my friend on MSN that I've put so much vapo rub on today I'm surprised they're not smelling me on the EastEnders set, at which point he told me they probably were and that's why Christian Clarke is packing his bags for a few days! I've been on the Neighbours page today but not made any edits to it, it's looking good though. D'you know what I'm gonna do once we've got Neighbours up to GA? Gonna create Wikipedia pages for Susan Bower and for the General Store! I cannot believe that Susan Bower doesn't have her own Wikipedia page, I just need to find out some info about her first of all. At the minute she seems to have just appeared on the face of the earth when she took over Neighbours lol. As for the General Store, I think that's worthy of it's own Wikipedia page because it's been at the heart of Neighbours right since the beginning. Might need to research a little into it's past though before I do that --5 albert square (talk) 21:29, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Poor you, I hope you're better for Friday. I think creating articles for Susan Bower and the General Store is a great idea. I reckon Susan deserves a page for all the work she's put in at Neighbours. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 21:47, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
The storylines content was moved to the History and popularity section near top of article. I moved it because none of the content was storylines, or even about storylines, but about ratings, etc. Sorry I didn't see the talk page until after doing the move. Format (talk) 20:51, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah that's ok, sorry I didn't see that they'd been joined together. Feel free to help out though with getting Neighbours to good article status though, your help would be very welcome :) --5 albert square (talk) 21:10, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
No problems. There are a few problems with the article... but mostly superficial things like repetition and waffle. It has plenty of good quality information in there, and I think it is reasonably well referenced for an article about a soap opera. Format (talk) 21:17, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Hope you don't mind me starting another section. I was wondering what you thought we should do about the titles section? I'm not sure if you saw my question on HJ's page, but I was thinking we should cut it right down as Neighbours' title sequences haven't really been that notable. They aren't as iconic as Eastenders' or even The Bill's. What do you think? - JuneGloom07 (talk) 23:53, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, no that's ok the last one was getting kinda long. Yes the theme tunes section will need cutting right back, not quite sure how to do it though --5 albert square (talk) 00:02, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't sure how to cut it down either, that's why I asked HJ, lol. I've just found out that Home and Away isn't returning to Aussie screens until the 1st February, so I'm wondering if Neighbours' ratings will go up a little in January. Those H&A fans will have to watch something. Have you seen the 2010 Neighbours trailer? - JuneGloom07 (talk) 00:34, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
What is it with you and your wikibreaks? Haha. Every time your off on one, I suddenly need to talk to you! ****! Anyway, someone's offered to nominate me for adminship and I'm going to go for it 'cos it's too good an opportunity to pass up. I don't want the drama of an RfA to get in the way of the review though, so let me know when you're back on and we can make sure everyone's happy with what we have left to do. I'll let June know, too. She might be back before you. Wikibreak. *mutters to himself*.... HJMitchellYou rang? 19:02, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I've just been reading about the all the upcoming storylines and so on for next year. It all sounds very exciting and we're gonna be kept busy adding all the information to the right places. Some new characters are arriving (but no one's leaving the show for the first 6 months, except Ringo) a new university is being created for the teens and Karl's going back to practising medicine again. I don't know if you've read any of the spoilers yet, so I won't tell you/post them here just in case. I've had a look at the review list and we seem to have got most, if not all, of the points ticked off. I'm sure HJ will come up with some more things for everyone to work on though. :) - JuneGloom07 (talk) 17:54, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, if I'm understanding you correctly, you need to go into the article and then click on "edit" at the top of the page. I hope this is helpful to you! --5 albert square (talk) 01:47, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Neighbours GA Review II
Hi, I think the Neighbours article is very near GA status now. If HJ finds anything else I would imagine it would be anything too big **fingers crossed!** --5 albert square (talk) 17:58, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I've just cleaned up after this user, 217.43.186.228 who disrupted and added false info to the Current cast of Neighbours page. I checked their history and saw that they've made a number of edits to cast lists from The Bill, I thought I should let you know as you might want to check to see what edits they have made. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for that. Yeah, I was at work before and I came across this vandal but because I was in the middle of training someone and not really meant to be on Wikipedia, I couldn't really look into it at the time. They've been blocked though, thankfully. I know though that I'll be keeping an eye on The Bill's pages for when they're unblocked, I would suggest that we do the same for the Neighbours subpages. Vandals do make you laugh though don't they? I like how this one re-added John Heaton as a character of The Bill - he left it in July! At least that's what I thought he meant when he said he was leaving for another station! Another vandal that always makes me laugh too is the one that keeps editing one of The Bill's episode pages to say that Sargent Dale Smith was not charged with his girlfriends murder, yet I posted a Youtube ref and you clearly hear the words "Dale Smith, I am charging you with the murder of Louise Larsson"! If that's not charging someone with murder, then I dunno what is! --5 albert square (talk) 21:11, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
That's okay, I didn't want to revert anything incase I got it wrong as I don't watch The Bill any more. I reported the IP to AIV after I gave them a final warning, which they ignored. They were adding departed characters to the current Neighbours cast list and I'm pretty sure Scott and Charlene aren't coming back anytime soon! I had trouble with another vandal about a week ago, who kept adding edits to cast lists, they were blocked too. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 22:00, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
I do apologise for my delay in getting back to you. Things are a little hectic for me atm, but I've replied to your request on my talk page now, anyway. HJMitchellYou rang? 22:57, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I've just been to see what's been happening over at Neighbours. Good work in finding refs for the Setting section, I was having trouble finding anything to reference the bit about Erinsborough being in Melbourne. I'll have a go at adding a little more info to the storylines section and try and find some refs for it. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 13:28, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
You're going to hate me, especially now that you've found those refs for the titles section. I don't know if you've seen what HJ said about the section earlier, but I'm working on something now and I think most of the info in the section now has to go. I'll save the changes in a minute and I guess if it doesn't look right, we can always undo it. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 00:53, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Wow, "unnotable users"? Surely that means they shouldn't be allowed to comment further then? Who the heck is Dougie Swallow anyway? - JuneGloom07 (talk) 01:18, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Hah, he's apparently some guy that once auditioned to be on the X Factor but I don't think he got anywhere. This person states that Dougie now works with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan on Watch but there's no references to back this up apart from Youtube videos that aren't accepted by Wikipedia! I like the fact though that they're calling us unnotable, we're as notable as the anon IP is! I've actually posted that I take it they're including themselves when they say unnotable users lol --5 albert square (talk) 01:26, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
The {{Underconstruction}} tag has been removed from the Neighbours article. I think we're almost done! I hope someone has the sense to delete that Dougie Swallow article soon, he does appear to be a person of no notability. - JuneGloom07 (talk) 01:36, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh me too! I can finally get to bed tonight now! I think we just need to watch what's added and what refs are used so we can keep it there.
Checking out Neighbours listing as GA and I couldn't help but notice that Home and Away isn't there. So I guess that Neighbours really is better than Home and Away! --5 albert square (talk) 01:53, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

I closed the SPI for you, but for the future, there's nothing wrong with you closing the request yourself. Any administrator can close an SPI. They're not permitted to archive it unless they are a clerk or a checkuser, and there are cases where it would be inappropriate for them to close it (e.g., some sort of conflict), but this is not one of those instances. Best.--Bbb23 (talk) 09:40, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't mind watchlisting Shraddha Kapoor. There has been a few conversatons regarding the editor templating me this morning and I've been urging patience [[9]] is the most recent but my patience is running a little thin. A quick review of that articles history and the other editors involved on their page would be good but eyes are needed. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 14:04, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
I have, it's a similarity but it would only be behavioral in nature at this point. There is one key difference that makes me hesitant to file it but the english competence level is slightly improved(SM was at least according to one profile a 17 year old teenager so improvement would be expected if in school), the WP:POINT editing fits, subject area fits and first edits were of an experienced user coding wise. The only thing that makes me think differently is that if it is Smauritius they were attempting to drop old conflicts and did choose to ignore some of the reverts and some of the more problematic additions have ceased, it's easier to come back under those terms and a mea culpa then run through a new username. I could show you a few things but the animosity to me and Krimuk would make sense being that Krimuk assisted me in identifying several socks in the past. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 19:14, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
Ah, it looks like we posted at the same time. I've left my report at SPI because I stand by my decision to ask for CheckUser. Thanks for the link for locking, I've bookmarked that for future reference.--5 albert square (talk) 11:34, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello 5 albertsquare!
I'm really sorry, I usually write on Italian version of Wikipedia and it's the first time I write here. I'm just trying to create the English version of the Italian page related to INWIT company. It is a subsidiary of Telecom Italia. I didn't want to be promotional at all, really. Do you think I can go on with creating the page? I mean, I would like to finish it so that you can see if it could be promotional or it could be linked to the Italian one.

Hi, 5 albert square. I and at least two other editors have been reverting the mostly vandal edits of 97.85.44.132 over the past two days. He appears to be yet another incarnation of 71.82.105.171, an IP you blocked on August 13.
Here are just two examples of the same identical, highly idiosyncratic edits. The first involves an infobox-film edit against MOS and which was rejected on the talk page. The second is one in a series of uncited and in fact false movie subheads / alternate titles:
1. 71.82.105.171 Revision of 20:03, 6 August 2015 [55] 97.85.44.132 Revision of 16:25, 30 August 2015 [56]
2. 71.82.105.171 Revision of 00:39, 12 August 2015 [57] 97.85.44.132 Revision of 03:28, 30 August 2015 [58]
I thought since you were already familiar with the case that it would best to contact you directly. I hope that's OK. With regards, I'm sure on behalf of two other registered editors as well, Tenebrae (talk) 21:58, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
I'm sorry to bother you again about that miscreant 97.85.44.132, but twice now, despite a warning after the first time, he's removed your admin notice from the talk page. I know that's disallowed since the notice is meant for any others who might be using what may be a shared IP. But since he evidently doesn't care, I'm wondering — and I think this is accurate — if he can be blocked from his own page. The edits are here and here. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:29, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

I wasn't. I am well aware what the bot is set to which is why I archived the discussion. The reason? According to the bot's talk page it was not running, when I looked at Jimbo's talk page it was about 10 miles long and I couldn't see that ClueBot III had archived it for a couple of days so I tried to help and archive it to try and avoid the state it fell into the last time the bot failed to archive it. As it is, you undid my edit saying that the discussion was still ongoing, only for the bot to come along and undo your edit a few hours later.

Hi, at the moment I will actively watch the accounts. As their only edits are to userspace, it is kind of hard to see if this is an illegitimate ie "good-hand, bad-hand" or straw man account etc or if it is a legitimate alternative account. However, as I'm not a CheckUser, I'm also going to ping in @Callanecc:@Ponyo: and @Bbb23: to get their opinion on this.--5 albert square (talk) 11:54, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure if it's a reason but they appear to have revealed their name, age and school. I've not really come across this before though so apologies if it's not a reason for suppression. –anemoneprojectors– 16:47, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

I see you've closed the second SPI case filed [[79]]. I also saw the tags placed on the sock's user pages. Does anything need to be put on the master sock's user page? Also, will the CheckUser verify the sock later? Please ping me or leave me a talk back on my talk page in case I forget to check back on your talk page. --JustBerry (talk) 03:04, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
Hi @JustBerry: from what I know CU would not be done as it was not requested, hence why I can close it. I didn't see any need for confirmation that the accounts were related because they were quacking so I don't believe that CU could do anything differently. I know that you said that you suspect that this belongs to another editor and it may be that it is but sometimes it's not worth the effort trying to find out who. Finally, a tag can be placed on the master's page but it's not always necessary. Some socks live off the attention we sometimes accidentally give them so by not adding a tag it could be seen as denying them this. I hope this makes sense :)--5 albert square (talk) 14:22, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Some visitors had problems reaching the Wikimedia sites for an hour on September 24. [102][103]
Changes this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from September 29. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis from September 30. It will be on all Wikipedias from October 1 (calendar).
There will be a new beta feature that allows editors to use Flow on their user talkpage if they want to. Each wiki can decide if they want to enable it. [104]
The Content Translation tool can give translation suggestions. This feature will now be available in more languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Turkish, Japanese, Italian, and Catalan. [105]
You can join the next meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs are the most important. The meeting will be on 29 September at 19:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
The Wikimedia Foundation developers want the community to decide who can use OAuth in the future. You can discuss it on Meta.
